Dean Cain exposes sexual harassment that plagued him during 'Lois & Clark'
Dean Cain, this week, claimed that he once faced serious sexual harassment on the set of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." The 58-year-old, who played Superman in the 1990s series, told Variety: "I could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history." Cain didn't elaborate on the alleged harassment, but Variety reported that it took a toll on his relationship with his then-volleyball star girlfriend Gabrielle Reece. "There were always murmurs," Variety added of the harassment allegations, noting that the show ended abruptly after the fourth season on a cliffhanger when Cain was set to direct several episodes, which "evaporated." Cain added that "Lois & Clark" was quite risqué, but he loved working with co-star Teri Hatcher. "Teri Hatcher and I were making out all the time in beds, half clothes on, half off," he said of working with Hatcher, who played Lois Lane in the 1993 to 1997 series. "Teri was the best Lois Lane of all time, in my opinion," he added. "She just drove the show." Cain said, though, that he didn't mind being focused on as a sex symbol. "Any guy who tells you he feels bad being objectified, I mean, really? Come on," he said. "It's a wonderful compliment." The actor, who once had a brief foray into professional football before his acting days, said "Lois & Clark" was "more money than I had ever seen in my life." "My entire contract for the Buffalo Bills was equal to a couple episodes of 'Lois & Clark,'" he added. But the work week was exhausting, beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday and finishing at 7 a.m. on Saturday, he said. "We called it Fraturday!" Cain joked. "There was no time to work out, because they couldn't give me a workout clause, because then they'd have to for every other star and then it sets precedent for Warner Bros. That's why I haven't done a series since. It feels like suffocating. You feel claustrophobic." He also said he didn't get all the pay he deserved. "I didn't know enough back then about residuals," he explained, before alleging: "Warner Bros. buries the bodies deep and makes it look like it's lost money. There's no possible way. But I should have sued. "George Clooney did it. He sued on 'ER' and got a big payout for his participation. I was advised not to because 'You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.'" Fox News Digital has reached out to Warner Brothers and Cain for comment.

Former Superman Star Slams James Gunn's Creative Choices in New DCU Film
While James Gunn's seems to have pleased many fans of the titular character, former Superman actor Dean Cain seems to have several issues with the recently released film. Cain, who portrayed the Man of Steel throughout the run of the 1993 series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has criticized a number of Gunn's creative choices for the DCU film. Dean Cain says James Gunn made Superman's Earth parents 'stupid rednecks' In a recent interview with Variety, the 58-year-old actor highlighted several elements of the new Superman film that did not sit well with him. In particular, Cain expressed problems with Gunn's creative vision regarding the titular superhero's vulnerability during a fight as well as his adoptive parents on Earth, Jonathan and Martha Kent. 'James Gunn and his decision to make Ma and Pa Kent the stupid rednecks. That's a choice. And Superman has to be saved, like, repeatedly? On a movie this size, every decision is a choice made carefully,' Dean Cain said in his recent review of the film. He also mentioned his connection to Gunn's DC Studios partner Peter Safran, stating, 'And Peter Safran is a Princeton guy, too, a year ahead of me, but he's never hired me.' Dean Cain has already spoken against James Gunn's comments about Superman being an immigrant. In an earlier interview, the actor voiced his displeasure with Gunn's take on the character by noting, ' I think if you want to create a new character, go ahead and do that. But for me, Superman has always stood for 'truth, justice, and the American way' — and the American way is tremendously immigrant-friendly. But there are rules.' Despite his mostly negative opinion about the first film entry in the DCU, Cain was able to resonate with some parts of the film. 'Seeing Krypto in the trailer gave me goose bumps. He saves a squirrel. He saves a little girl. I respect that,' he explained. Originally reported by Apoorv Rastogi on SuperHeroHype. Pamela Anderson had 'hot' fling with 90s action heartthrob years before new Liam Neeson romance
Pamela Anderson had a 'hot' fling with a nineties action heartthrob decades before her rumored new romance with her Naked Gun leading man Liam Neeson. Turns out the 58-year-old Baywatch alum enjoyed a six-month fling with Lois & Clark alum Dean Cain in 1993. 'That candle burned hot and short,' the life-long bachelor - turning 59 this Thursday - confirmed to Variety on Monday. 'She wanted to be with the rock-star kind of guy, and that's not me.' Dean only has 'fond memories of' Pamela, who went on to marry Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in 1995 just four days after they met at WeHo nightclub Sanctuary. Three years later, the couple - whose honeymoon sex tape was stolen from their safe and released - divorced but remain co-parents of sons Brandon, 29; and Dylan, 27. On Sunday, Anderson beamed as she posed beside the 73-year-old Irishman at the New York premiere of The Naked Gun, and they've been 'enjoying each other's company.' 'It's a budding romance in the early stages,' a source told People on Monday. 'It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other.' Earlier this month, the Golden Globe nominee gushed to EW: 'I think I have a friend forever in Liam. We definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving. He's a good guy.' Pamela and Liam bonded over their shared 'love of literature and a good laugh' and she regularly left cookies, muffins, and homebaked sourdough bread in his dressing room while on set. The feeling was definitely mutual for Neeson, who gushed to People last October: 'I'm madly in love with her. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' The Oscar-nominated actor has been single since ending his two-year relationship with Freya St. Johnston following the tragic loss of his wife Natasha Richardson, at age 45, from a traumatic brain injury in 2009. Liam and the British beauty welcomed sons Micheál, 30; and Daniel, 28; before her skiing accident. Anderson portrays nightclub singer Beth opposite Neeson's Lieutenant Frank Drebin Jr. in Akiva Schaffer's slapstick comedy continuation, which hits US/UK theaters this Friday. Dean only has 'fond memories of' Pamela, who went on to marry Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee (R) in 1995 just four days after they met at WeHo nightclub Sanctuary On Sunday, Anderson beamed as she posed beside the 73-year-old Irishman at the New York premiere of The Naked Gun, and they've been 'enjoying each other's company' The Naked Gun also features Danny Huston, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Busta Rhymes, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, and Eddie Yu. Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and David Zucker wrote and directed the original trilogy spanning 1988-1994, which amassed a total $476.4M at the global box office, following the short-lived ABC series Police Squad in 1982. In September, the Canadian-American beauty will fly to England to shoot a mystery role in Sally Potter's upcoming funeral drama Alma alongside Dakota Fanning and Lindsay Duncan. In April, Pamela was in Australia filming her role as two-time divorcée Molly in Kornél Mundruczó's upcoming drama Place to Be alongside Ellen Burstyn and Taika Waititi. Last September, Anderson was hard at work on the Spanish set of Karim Aïnouz's dark satire Rosebush Pruning for Mubi alongside Elle Fanning, Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, and Lukas Gage. The 15-time Playboy cover girl experienced a full-blown career resurgence last year after starring in Gia Coppola's drama The Last Showgirl, which earned her Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations.

Dean Cain Calls James Gunn's Ma and Pa Kent "Stupid Rednecks" in SUPERMAN — GeekTyrant
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman star Dean Cain is sharing his thoughts on Superman , and while he had a few nice things to say, he definitely didn't hold back on what rubbed him the wrong way about James Gunn's take on the iconic characters. The actor, who played Clark Kent in the beloved '90s series, recently sat down with Variety and offered up a mixed bag of opinions about the new film. Surprisingly, he started on a positive note, saying, 'Seeing Krypto in the trailer gave me goose bumps. He saves a squirrel. He saves a little girl. I respect that.' That moment clearly struck a chord with Cain, even if the rest of the movie didn't land the same way for him. Cain didn't confirm whether he's actually seen Superman , but he didn't mince words when it came to one creative decision in particular. 'James Gunn and his decision to make Ma and Pa Kent the stupid rednecks. That's a choice,' Cain said. 'And Superman has to be saved, like, repeatedly? On a movie this size, every decision is a choice made carefully. And [DC Studios co-head] Peter Safran is a Princeton guy, too, a year ahead of me, but he's never hired me.' Now, calling the Kents 'stupid rednecks' definitely isn't cool, especially since many fans like myself embraced the down-to-earth, heartwarming portrayal of Jonathan and Martha Kent in the film. These weren't caricatures; they were loving, honest people doing their best to raise a son with godlike powers. So for Cain to label them that is mean-spirited and way out of touch. Cain went on to reflect on the impact playing Superman had on his life. 'My buddy turns to me and goes, 'Man, for the rest of your life, people are going to call you Superman.' I couldn't fathom that being the case at the time, but it changed my life insanely.' He also recalled some of the backlash he faced back in 1993 for taking on the role. 'I remember a fan going, 'We wanted Superman, not Sushi Man,'' Cain said, referencing his Japanese American heritage. 'For the love of God, he's a Kryptonian. He could be green. Does it matter?' Despite the hate, he made it clear he's all for more diverse casting, even throwing out Michael B. Jordan as a future Superman, saying he 'has all the qualities of Superman — that humility, that kindness, that openness, that earnestness.' Even if Cain's critiques feel a little off-base, it's interesting to see how former Supermen are reacting to the new era of the character. For better or worse, Superman is sparking big conversations, and that's always a sign that something's working.

Dean Cain claimed he was a victim of sexual harassment when he was Superman. During a new interview with Variety, the 58-year-old actor made a bombshell claim about his experience starring in the 1990s TV series 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.' 'We ended up putting in stirrups so that it stayed in place. And the boots were a whole lace-up thing at first. We worked on it as time went on.' 'I remember it being 110 in Burbank. In the Superman suit, you can't sweat. If you sweat, it balls up. So I didn't,' Cain continued. 'I'm a Japanese dude. I don't sweat that much. I'm not hairy at all. But still …' 9 Dean Cain as Clark Kent/Superman. ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection Cain also recalled that flying in the suit was brutal because the wires cut off circulation. 'There's no blood flow going to your legs,' he noted. 'After hanging for hours, I would have to get a massage just to keep the blood moving from quadrant to quadrant. Teri would cry. She'd be in tears every single time we had to fly because it hurt.' Cain explained that he filmed 'Lois and Clark' five days a week from 6 a.m. on Monday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
