Hugh Jackman's ex Deborra-Lee Furness 'ready to start dating' after divorce
Deborra-Lee Furness is reportedly being encouraged to "start dating again". The 69-year-old actress - whose divorce from Hollywood star Hugh Jackman was finalised last month - is said to be open to finding love again, but she's not rushing into another relationship. A source told Woman's Day magazine: "Deb is finally starting to heal and talk about what she wants in her life going forward. "She's got an incredible support system that's been there every step of the way, helping her to pick up the pieces of her life. "They are encouraging her to start dating again." It's said while Deborra-Lee has been getting offers from some "incredible guys", she won't be tempted to settle. The source added: "She knows what she brings to the table." Deborra-Lee and Hugh split in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage, but she only filed for divorce in May, and it was signed off by a judge a few weeks ago. According to PEOPLE magazine, online court records from New York's Suffolk County Supreme Court show that a judgment of divorce was filed on June 12, and later uploaded to the website on June 23, with the case not listed as 'Disposed'. When Deborra-Lee filed for divorce from the 56-year-old actor, she indicated the terms were uncontested and would only need a sign-off from a judge. It was revealed days after the filing that the pair had begun to separate their shared assets. The former couple met on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli in 1995 and married on 11 April 1996. They adopted their son, Oscar, now 24, in 2000, and their daughter, Ava, 19, in 2005. In September 2023, they confirmed their separation in a joint statement shared with People, saying: 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.' In May, Deborra-Lee issued a separate statement discussing the emotional impact of the split. She said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' Deborra added: 'However, I believe in a higher power and that God or the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us. 'That belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.' According to The Daily Mail, a source claimed Hugh was 'blindsided' by Deborra's comments and 'extremely disappointed', alleging there had been 'an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press'.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness Finalize Divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are officially single—legally speaking. The two reportedly finalized their divorce this week, just one month after Deborra-Lee filed for divorce. Neither Hugh nor Deborra-Lee have commented on the news, but People reports that online court records mark their divorce case status as 'Disposed,' which means the court is essentially done with the case. One month might seem speedy for a divorce, but the two were separated for about 2 years before the official filing, and People reports that the terms in Deborra-Lee's filings were uncontested. The exact terms of the divorce have not been reported. Previous reports claimed that the divorce was at an 'impasse' over the division of their reported $250 million estate. However, The Daily Mail cited a source who claimed that the two were both able to come to an agreement for a 'handsome spousal support payment.' The source also claimed that Deborra-Lee was 'pleased' with the settlement, adding, 'She got what she believed she deserved.' (What she deserved, according to The Daily Mail, is around $100 million.) It's also unclear whether or not the divorce settlement includes any kind of non-disclosure agreement. Celebrity divorces have included these clauses in the past (see: Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez), and it wouldn't surprise me if there was something in the terms that forbid Deborra-Lee from writing a tell-all memoir about her 27-year marriage to Hugh, especially as reports have claimed that she's been getting a lot of lucrative offers to do so. As for what's next for the exes, Hugh has already moved on. Hugh and Sutton Foster made their relationship public in January—nearly 3 years after the two starred in Broadway's The Music Man revival—and are reportedly still going strong. Meanwhile, Deborra-Lee is reportedly taking her time before re-entering the dating pool. 'She is just not interested in this right now,' a source told The Daily Mail. That's not to say she hasn't gotten any offers, the insider said she had 'turned down dates from some incredible guys' and was just waiting to settle her divorce before putting herself out there. Perhaps now that the divorce has been finalized she can do just that.

Hugh Jackman's BFF breaks silence on actor's true feelings in bitter divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness split up in late 2023, but the actor's wife only recently filed for divorce Hugh Jackman's childhood best friend, Gus Worland, shared his two pence on the Wolverine actor's divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. Although the famous couple announced their split in September 2023, Deborra-Lee only recently filed the divorce proceedings in a New York court house on May 23. At the time of their split, they said they had spent almost three decades together but were seeking to develop "individual growth" but their family remained their top priority. Amid their divorce, close friend and radio presenter Gus, who went to primary school with Hugh, appeared on 2GB's Ben Fordham Live on Thursday and shared how Hugh's doing. "No one wants anyone to go through what he is and he is going through it publicly because of his fame," he explained. "One thing I have been really strict on is to let Hugh and Deborra-Lee do what they have had to do. I was over in New York with him last month and he is fine. He is going along well." Gus went on to say that Hugh is moving his life in a positive direction and wished the same for his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee. "He is moving on with his life. I hope Deb does as well. They were together for 30 years and have two beautiful kids together," he said. "I go to their kids and ask them what we can do to make sure they get through this as best as possible." Meanwhile, on May 23, Deborra-Lee officially filed for divorce. Records seen by the Mirror show that her lawyer, Elena Karabatos, filed several other notices, including a proposed qualified medical child support order, a certificate of dissolution, the settlement and a proposed judgment of divorce, which is still pending. As the judgment of divorce is still pending, a judge needs to sign it off before the judgment can be officially made. Deborra, who adopted two children with Hugh, 56, is believed to have received a "handsome spousal support payment". A source claims there will be "no drama" between the pair once their marriage is officially dissolved. "A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with which includes a handsome spousal support payment," a source said. They went on to tell the Daily Mail: "There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, she got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure. There is not going to be any drama with this gives closure that she needed." Meanwhile, another source claimed that the divorce is "not contested", stating that there wasn't a huge disagreement between the estranged couple. It's believed that they had worked out the details in advance and all issues, including a settlement, alimony and expenses for their children, had been decided.

Edwina Bartholomew: Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness could take a leaf out of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's divorce playbook
There is 'conscious uncoupling' and then there is whatever is playing out between Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. A brutal divorce statement from her. A back-handed Instagram post from him. The marriage of one of Australia's most high-profile couples is officially over in a very public manner. After famously meeting on the set of Coreli, Jackman and Furness married in 1996 and adopted two children before going their separate ways in 2023. At the time, they released a joint statement saying they had been 'blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife'. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,' the statement continued. 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.' That was September 2023. Fast forward to this week, Deborra-Lee officially filed for divorce accompanied by some very different sentiments. 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal', she said in a statement. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' Ouch. No prizes for guessing the subtext there. The many, many paparazzi shots of Jackman and his new flame, Sutton Forest strolling hand-in-hand in New York and Los Angeles paint the picture. We saw the first photos of the couple in January this year but reportedly the two became close while performing together on the Broadway revival of The Music Man in 2021. As the dust settled on Deb's statement, Hugh took to Instagram to post a video of him… skipping to NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye at the Radio City Music Hall with the caption, 'FINALLY'. Was it a statement on his divorce or finally landing a routine he had been working on for weeks? No one is quite sure but the internet has some thoughts. 'The undertone is poor form, not so Mr Nice Guy,' wrote one follower. There is no one way to divorce in Hollywood but plenty of people have given it a good crack. Strangely, one of the most successful splits started off as a global laughing stock. When Gywneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their divorce in 2014 with the phrase, 'Conscious Uncoupling' they were laughed out of Tinseltown. Reflecting on the split in Vogue Magazine in 2022, Paltrow admitted she was shocked by the reaction. 'The public's surprise gave way quickly to ire and derision,' she said. 'A strange combination of mockery and anger that I had never seen. I was already pretty tattered from what had been a tough year. Frankly, the intensity of the response saw me bury my head in the sand deeper than I ever had in my very public life'. Now, there's been a shift. 'Conscious uncoupling/separation/divorce, whatever you want to call it, has now permeated the break-up culture. Instead of people approaching me with, 'Why did you say that?', they now approach me with, 'How do you do that?', Gwyneth told Vogue. Reportedly, the divorce settlement between Deborra-Lee and Hugh is amicable with their $250 million fortune split between them and their kids well supported for life. Hugh might just consider archiving that post to keep the uncoupling cordial.

Met Gala organisers 'in a panic' over a possible showdown between Hugh Jackman and his ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness
The Met Gala is one of the biggest events of the year. But organisers are reportedly 'in a panic' over a possible showdown between Hugh Jackman and his ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness, who is believed to be attending for the first time since their split. According to New Idea, things could get heated between the former couple if Hugh attends with his new girlfriend Sutton Foster. 'It's a nightmare because no one knows if Hugh is bringing his girlfriend along,' a source told the publication. 'Hugh and Sutton have been talking for months about stepping out as a couple at the biggest night in fashion.' The insider claimed the Met Gala was 'always Hugh and Deb's thing' and organisers are worried they could run into each other amid their divorce battle. Hugh's team has reportedly reached out to Deb to ensure they don't see each other at the event. 'It would be a PR nightmare if they crossed paths, especially since they're barely speaking' the source added. Hugh and Deborra-Lee announced the end of their marriage in a shock statement in September 2023, telling fans that they were 'shifting' and as a result had decided to 'separate to pursue our individual growth'. 'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,' the couple said in a joint statement. 'Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.' Hugh and Deborra-Lee met back in 1995 on Australian TV show Correlli, when she was a major star, and he was enjoying his first role fresh out of drama school. He proposed four months later, telling Today in 2018 that he knew two weeks into meeting Deborra-Lee that they were 'going to be together for the rest of our lives.' They were married in Melbourne, Australia, in April 1996 before adopting their son Oscar, now 24, in 2000. Five years later they completed their family unit when they adopted daughter Ava, 19. Hugh went public with his new girlfriend Broadway co-star Sutton in January, almost two years after confirming his split from his wife of 27 years.
