BSF constable injured in Pakistan shelling dies
A Border Security Force constable injured during cross-border firing from Pakistan in Jammu's R.S Pura sector a day ago died on Sunday (May 11, 2025), the BSF said. Deepak Chimngakham, hailing from Manipur, was among the eight BSF personnel injured in shelling from Pakistan in the early hours of May 10. Imtiaz from Bihar, among the eight injured BSF personnel, who passed away on Saturday (May 10, 2025). He also paid tributes to the Army Rifleman Sunil Kumar from Jammu, who was killed in the line of duty in Jammu's R.S. Pura sector on May 10. The same day, Subedar Major Pawan Kumar, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, was killed in Poonch, the area along the Line of Control (LoC), which has seen heavy shelling since May 7. Army jawan M. Murali Naik from Andhra Pradesh who joined as an Agniveer was also killed in Poonch on May 8. Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar Sharma from Haryana was killed on May 7 in Poonch in heavy artillery and mortar firing from Pakistan. Sergeant Surendra Kumar Moga from Rajasthan, who was posted in the medical wing of the Udhampur airbase, was killed on May 10. Among the 18 civilians who were killed along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir was Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, whose house was hit in shelling from Pakistan on May 10.

Second BSF trooper killed in action in cross-border firing by Pakistan
NEW DELHI: The (BSF) on Sunday said a second BSF trooper was killed in action due to Pakistan-initiated cross-border firing in the Jammu region a day ago. His last rites will be performed at his native Narayanpur village in Bihar's Saran district. A similar wreath-laying ceremony for Chimngakham will be held at the BSF's frontier headquarters. The firing between BSF and Pakistan Rangers took place after India launched following the April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. On May 7, the Indian armed forces conducted Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). All subsequent retaliations to Pakistani offensives were carried out as part of this operation. On Saturday, the two countries reached an agreement to stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea after four days of cross-border strikes, which triggered fears of a wider conflict.

Second BSF personnel succumbs to injury in Jammu due to Pakistani shelling
The BSF on Sunday said a second trooper was killed in action after Pakistan initiated cross-border firing in the Jammu region a day ago.
