Jason Momoa Shaves For The First Time In Six Years For ‘Dune 3': 'Goddamnit, I Hate It'

Jason Momoa is getting ready to get back into character for Dune: Part Three and filmed himself shaving his facial hair. In a new video posted on social media, the Aquaman actor said the last time he had shaved was for the first film. More from Deadline Taron Egerton Says He's "Too Messy" To Play James Bond, Ruling Himself Out Of Denis Villeneuve's Plans Barbara Broccoli Gives Verdict On Denis Villeneuve As Director Of Next James Bond Ozzy Osbourne's All-Star Farewell Concert With Black Sabbath Draws 40,000 'Only for you, Denis,' Momoa says in the video, giving a shoutout to Dune director Denis Villeneuve. After Momoa shaved off his facial hair, he looked at himself and said, 'Goddamnit, I hate it!' Dune was first released in 2021, where Momoa played the role of Duncan Idaho, a swordmaster of House Atreides and a mentor to Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides. Momoa didn't appear in the sequel, released in 2024, but will return for Dune: Part Three, which is expected to open in theaters on December 18, 2026. The third film in the Dune film series is based on the 1969 novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert, which follows Atreides' struggles with the consequences of his Fremen-led jihad upon his ascension to Emperor Muad'Dib. Momoa will be joined by his son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa in Dune: Part Three, who was recently cast alongside Ida Brooke as Leto II and Ghanima, the twin offspring of Paul Atreides (Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya). Deadline reported in April that Robert Pattinson would be joining the film series in a new role, with sources saying he would take on the villain role of Scytale. Last year, Villeneuve said that this third film would be his last entry in the Dune saga, telling Vanity Fair, 'It's important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych. It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That's done and that's finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it's not like a trilogy. It's strange to say that, but if I go back there, it's to do something that feels different and has its own identity.' The filmmaker said that he 'would love to do something else' following the third installment of the saga. ‘Dune 3' Will Feature the Return of Smooth Faced Jason Momoa

As shooting gets underway on Dune: Part 3, the adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, returning cast member Jason Momoa is prepping to come back, but not exactly as who you'd think he'd be… or looking the way you'd expect. An Instagram post shows Momoa shaving to mark his return to the Dune franchise, a journey he began six years ago. It's a stunt to celebrate the anniversary, which began at the same time as his collaboration with environmentally friendly aluminum water bottle purveyors Mananalu. The clip shows him doing his least favorite thing—shaving his facial hair—which he does while discussing the importance of reducing single-use plastics. He admits that being clean-shaven is something he'd do 'only for you, Denis,' referring to Dune franchise helmer Denis Villeneuve. View this post on InstagramMomoa continued, 'Goddammit! I hate it.' But as Dune mythology fans know, the move is essential for the actor's comeback to the Dune universe. Without giving too much away, in the first film, Momoa played Duncan Idaho, House Atreides' faithful swordmaster and guard who trained Paul (Timothée Chalamet) and served under his father, Leto (Oscar Isaac). He presumably dies while taking out a whole lot of the Emperor's Sardaukar soldiers. While we don't see it happen, the circumstances of his end there (because in the book he explicitly dies) lead to an explanation of how his body was then given to the Tleilaxu. In the Dune universe they are known for their clones, known as Gholas, which will come into play in Dune 3 as Paul rises to power. It's also neat to see that Momoa's return as someone completely loyal to the House Atreides will probably be endeared to Paul's son Leto II, played by his real-life son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa. ‘A rude awakening': Jason Momoa addresses son's movie debut in Dune: Part Three

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Jason Momoa thinks his son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa is in for a 'rude awakening' with his first movie role in Dune: Part Three. The 16-year-old actor is set to make his screen debut in director Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sci-fi blockbuster as Paul Atreides' (Timothee Chalamet) son Leto II, and his famous dad has admitted he's in for quite the surprise when production begins. Speaking with Extra, Jason, 45, said of Nakoa-Wolf: 'A rude awakening is what he's in for. He's into the workforce for the first time. It's going to be good. He did it on his own.' The A Minecraft Movie star added he didn't want to 'help' his son with the job as he wants Nakoa-Wolf to be 'better' than him. Jason added: 'I don't want to help him, and he's done it all on his own, and good for him. 'You want your children to be better than you, and I really, actually believe he is. I couldn't do what he's doing at his age. 'There's no way I could sit in a room with Denis Villeneuve and hold my own. I was on Baywatch at 19. He's 16 and holding shit down with Denis Villeneuve.' The Aquaman actor – who also has daughter Lola, 17, with his wife Lisa Bonet – concluded Nakoa-Wolf was 'very confident'. He said: 'We raised him beautiful. We raised our children … It's just, you know, being loved and being confident in themselves … That is what he is. He's very confident.' Nakoa-Wolf will be joined by Silo Star Ida Brooke, who will be playing his twin sister Ghanima in Dune: Part Three. The young actor will also be starring alongside his father, who is set to reprise his role as a resurrected Duncan Idaho - known as a ghola. Dune: Part Three will see the return of Zendaya's Chani, Florence Pugh's Princess Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson's Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem's Stilgar, and Josh Brolin's Gurney Halleck. Robert Pattinson is also said to be in the running for the antagonist role of Scytale - a Face Dancer and secret agent of the Bene Tleilax who plays a central role in Dune: Messiah as part of a conspiracy to overthrow Paul Atreides.

Jason Momoa Wants You To Know His Son Got Cast In Dune Totally 'On His Own'

As the debate around the preferential treatment shown to so-called 'nepo babies' in Hollywood rages on, Jason Momoa is adamant that he's not part of the problem. The former Aquaman star played Duncan Idaho in Denis Villeneuve's Oscar-winning adaptation of Dune, and is set to reprise the role in the upcoming third instalment in the sci-fi series. For this next offering, though, he'll be joined on screen by a familiar face, with his 16-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf reported to have landed the role of Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya's on-screen son, Leto II. 'He's in for a rude awakening is what he's in for,' Jason told Extra of his son's big-screen debut. He's into the workforce for the first time. It's going to be good.' Seemingly shrugging off any nepotism suggestions, the actor then insisted: 'He did it on his own. I don't want to help him, and he's done it all on his own, and good for him.' Heaping praise on the teen, Jason added: 'You want your children to be better than you, and I really, actually believe he is. I couldn't do what he's doing at his age. There's no way I could sit in a room with Denis Villeneuve and hold my own.' 'I was on Baywatch at 19. He's 16 and holding shit down with Denis Villeneuve,' he remarked. Jason has two children with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet. They welcomed their first child, Lola Iolani, in July 2007, followed by Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo in December 2008. The two were together for almost 20 years before announcing their split in 2022, four years after tying the knot. Since then, Jason has entered a new relationship with fellow actor Adria Arjona, who joined him and the rest of his family at the premiere of his new drama Chief Of War earlier this month. Huge movie star drops big hint he's the new Bond with telling move as he leads 007 race

A HUGE movie star has dropped a big hint that he's the new Bond with a telling move, as he heads the 007 race. Fans are desperate to know who the next 007 will be - and they may now be one step closer to finding out. 4 4 There are three frontrunners as the race reaches the finish line, one of which is Australian star Jacob Elordi, 28. The heartthrob and Saltburn star has been a firm name in the mix for a while now. And Although Jacob is Australian, it does not rule him out - especially as Aussie actor George Lazenby previously played Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969. In another clue pointing towards the actor's involvement, he has recently re-activated his Instagram account. This move comes a year after the 28-year-old previously deactivated his account, despite being a regular poster on the platform. As a result, fans have speculated that the star could be gearing up for some promo for a movie, with many keeping fingers crossed that that movie is James Bond. Jacob is yet to share any posts on his Instagram account, despite reactivating it. Hollywood hot property Timothee Chalamet has also seen his likelihood of becoming 007 increase thanks to his previous collaborations with the acclaimed director. The star, who has twice been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, worked with Denis Villeneuve on both Dune and Dune: Part Two - with both flicks going on to become box office hits. James Bond expert drops huge hint about new 007 actor after he starred in movie with huge A-list actress It has sparked speculation that their work together in the past could mean that he is a shoe-in to secure the role from Daniel Craig. According to new odds from Ladbrokes, Timothee has seen his odds rise to a cool 16/1. Last month, 57-year-old Denis was revealed to have been appointed the director of the 26th James Bond flick by Amazon MGM. The Canadian film-maker told how some of his "earliest movie-going memories" were linked to the James Bond movie franchise. He spoke out after his role was made public and said: "Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. "I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since 'Dr. No' with Sean Connery. I'm a die-hard Bond fan." In the statement, he added: "To me, he's sacred territory. "I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. "This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour. "Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust." 4 4
