Whatever you're in the mood for - whether that's a hearty meal or a summer cocktail - there is something for everyone on this list. The experts said: "Exploring a new city? Skip a sightseeing tour for a trip to one of the best restaurants with a view in the UK. "What better way to see a new place than from the comfort of a heated terrace with a cocktail in hand. "We've also got botanical rooftops, DJ nights in the sky and spots for a Sunday lunch by the water." Although the list itself doesn't have official rankings, two incredible restaurants in Scotland are among the huge selection. The first is Chaophraya, in Edinburgh, which was praised for its spectacular views of the castle. The Thai restaurant is located on the fourth floor of the building on Castle Street in the heart of the city centre. Visitors can dine in the rooftop eatery, which has a sleek, modern look and glass walls that offer a breathtaking view over the Firth of Forth. The experts say: "Be confronted by views of Edinburgh Castle and the Firth of Forth from the beautiful Chaophraya. I tried restaurant crowned best in Scotland - it was full of surprises "Dine inside this contemporary Thai restaurant with a skyline backdrop, or take to the terrace for a closer look at that Scottish architecture. "Grab one of their many cocktails to make your experience even better." The other one on the prestigious list is the restaurant in the Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow. This is situated on West George Street in the middle of the city centre, next to Queen Street Station. And experts at DesignMyNight have praised it for being "one of the best restaurants with a view in Scotland". They said: "Windows in Glasgow is one of the best restaurants with a view in Scotland. "Surrounded by historic rooftop and landmarks, there's plenty to see as you settle in for an unbeatable dining experience. It's right across from Tower Bridge so you can see it in all its glory around a fire pit. As one of the most affordable London restaurants with a view, it's got a menu starring stone-baked pizzas and burgers as well as an extensive cocktail menu. You'll find the Windows Restaurant in the Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow, where you can enjoy some of the best views in Scotland. It's in the heart of the city so you can stare out at the historic landmarks. A short drive from Bristol is what's been called 'punter's paradise', aka, The Windmill Inn, in Portishead.
