Home of the Year' judge Hugh Wallace still four-years behind on his own dream home renovation
Celebrity architect Hugh Wallace, who loves nothing more than poking around complete strangers home, is somewhat lacking when it comes to putting his home affairs in order as the property show presenter is a full four years behind renovating schedule on his new abode. Home of the Year head judge Hugh, bought a doer-upper in the heartland of Dublin City Centre some years back, and despite having a wealth of experience and a top notch construction team on speed dial, Hugh is surprisingly tardy when it comes to completing his own grand design. 'We are a teeny tiny bit over time, Hugh told 'Well four years over time to be precise. It's terrible, there's really no excuse for that,' said Hugh. 'It's being plastered at the moment, so we are planning on moving in at the end of August.' And once Hugh steps foot inside his dream home he has no grand designs on stepping foot outside his new front door. 'So once we're in I'm going to lock the door and never come out,' he joked. But Hugh may some excuse for being so behind on renovating his inner city pad, as he has just signed off on a mammoth project that will radically regenerate Waterford City. 'Waterford has all the essence of a fabulous town. You have the bridges, the Opera House and all of the magnificent infrastructure. But there is only one bridge into the town so the project was to interlink the city and make everything far more accessible. 'It's all very well having envisioned the finished project but there are so many drawings and redrawing to get to that point. On the Waterford project it was as well, well in excess of 100 designs.' Pic: Seán Dwyer 'We have to examine the minutiae of documents and then we work closely with other consultants and with Harcourt Developments,' Hugh told 'But I am enormously proud of the plans and can't wait to bring it to life.' The multi-million Waterford project is set to get underway next year. 'Work will begin in the first quarter next year. That's when the bridge is going in and there will be a new pedestrian bridge across the river. Then there will be the new bus station; that will be an integrated bus station, then there's the train station and cycleway. 'There's only that one bridge now, and soon all of a sudden, you'll have the pedestrian bridge coming right into the centre of town. And that's just fabulous,' said Hugh. As one of Ireland's most feted architects, Hugh has notched up a plethora of gongs for his etchings and sketches's But he told if he had his way, he would like to fashion himself as the Miranda Priestly of the Devil Wears Prada fame- of the architectural sphere. New Home of the Year judge Siobhan Lam (left) with Hugh Wallace and Amanda Bone. Pic: RTÉ 'My day job in Wallace Architects is very different to being on the telly. I like to take all the credit in the office,' said a modest Wallace. 'I wave my arms around, and I thoroughly enjoy it, and I like to give inspiration to clients,' he said. 'I love the waving your arms around and being creative. You know, putting out ideas and clients thinking about and saying, 'No, that doesn't work for me' , Or, 'yes that's fabulous',' he laughed. 'The creative genius who kind of likes delegates.' Home of the Year judge Hugh Wallace. Meryl Streep and Selena Gomez recreating some Devil Wears Prada magic is the nostalgia kick you NEED!
First things first — Meryl Streep is returning for season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. What's more, the 'announcement' per se, was made via an unmissable Devil Wears Prada reference! In a video shared yesterday by Hulu and the official page of the drama series, the Oscar-winning actor made an appearance in a video alongside Selena Gomez to celebrate her comeback to the show. In the delightfully fun clip, the duo reenacted an iconic moment from The Devil Wears Prada (2006), in which Meryl played the career-defining (at least as per pop culture) Miranda Priestly. For reference, the scene is that of Miranda critiquing Andy Sachs —played by Anne Hathaway —for lacking any and all perceptible sense of style. The scene shows Andy beginning to reply but Miranda , very characteristically, cutting her off with a sharp, stinging remark about how she wasn't really asking a question, but instead making a statement. In Meryl and Selena's video, the latter curtly, in classic Miranda-style, says, "So you're returning for season 5". Meryl having switched places to spiritually play Andy, mimics Anne's response to a T by saying, "Well, I think that depends on—". She of course is cut off quite promptly by Selena who very coldly says, "No, no, that wasn't a question". A post shared by Only Murders in the Building (@onlymurdershulu) Want that last bit of punch? The caption to the post read, "Gird your loins, Meryl is returning for Season 5! That's all". Now tell us you didn't read that out in Nigel's nifty voice. Now while Only Murders in the Building and The Devil Wears Prada have no connection besides Meryl, it is worth mentioning here that the movie has been all over the news owing to an official sequel being in the works. The Devil Wears Prada 2, which already has Meryl and Emily Blunt set to return, is eyeing a May 1 release next year. Incidentally, this will be the first Friday of May 2026, just before the first Monday of May that year, which we all know, is Met Gala day. So, 'gird your loins' indeed!

Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep recreate 'Devil Wears Prada' scene in fun video
That's all. On Thursday, the Academy Award winner appeared in a video with Selena Gomez to mark her return to the beloved Hulu series. In the video, the duo recreate a famous scene from "The Devil Wears Prada," in which Streep starred alongside Anne Hathaway. In the original scene, Streep's character Miranda Priestly remarks on Hathaway's character Andy Sachs' clothing choices, stating that she has "no style or sense of fashion." Andy begins to respond, before Miranda interrupts her and states that she wasn't asking a question. In Thursday's video, Gomez, standing next to Streep, states flatly, "So you're coming back for season 5." Streep, channeling Hathaway's "Devil Wears Prada" character, replies, "Well, I think that depends on--" Before she finishes her sentence, Gomez interjects, "No, no, that wasn't a question." The caption of the video also gave a nod to the 2006 film. "Gird your loins, Meryl is returning for Season 5! That's all," the caption read. "Only Murders in the Building" was picked up for a fifth season at Hulu in September 2024, following the premiere of its fourth season. In addition to Streep and Gomez, the show stars Martin Short and Steve Martin. The series follows friends Oliver Putnam (Short), Charles-Haden Savage (Martin) and Mabel Mora (Gomez), who investigate a series of suspicious murders in their upscale apartment building, The Arconia, in New York City. Streep portrays Loretta Durkin, an actress. In March, it was announced that Renée Zellweger would also join the star-studded cast. The new season is currently in production.

Devil Wears Prada fans are only just making shocking discovery about Meryl Streep's iconic look
It was recently announced that the sequel to the beloved Devil Wears Prada movie would be hitting theaters on May 26, 2026. And as fans gear up to see one of their favorite comfort movies bring back its star-studded cast for a second part, it appears as though they're feeling nostalgic. Many fans have been digging up old videos of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway discussing their time working on the film, and the recent rediscovering of a Hathaway interview has left them shocked. In a resurfaced interview with Variety, Hathaway takes a look back at some of her most famous scenes in her extensive filmography and of course a scene from The Devil Wears Prada comes up. Hathaway watches as her character, Andy, speaks to Streep's character Miranda Priestly - but in the middle of reminiscing on how she wanted to be a 'sponge' for Streep, Hathaway pauses on a still of her. 'Look at that wig,' she said. She goes on to speak about Roy J. Helland (Streep's makeup artist and hair stylist) but fans seem to have blocked the rest of the interview out as they couldn't get past the realization that Streep is in fact wearing a wig throughout the movie. The clip soon made its way to Reddit, where users shared their shock. Fans were shocked to learn that Streep was wearing a wig in the film 'That was a WIG???' the original poster wrote along with the clip of Hathaway complimenting the wig. 'Holy cow,' another Redditor wrote at the revelation. 'When I first found out it was a wig I was also stunned,' another added. 'This is what quality hair pieces look like.' But other users were a little less surprised and even pointed out that actresses wearing wigs in movies is a pretty common practice. 'A shocking amount of any hair you see looking beautiful on screen or stage or spread is a wig, or otherwise "synthetic/fake,"' one Redditor shared. 'It's remarkable what a skilled craftsperson can do with a wig.' 'Movie hair is almost always a wig, wigs look better on camera (if they're well done that is) because they always have more volume,' another user confirmed. Fans also revealed that actresses wearing wigs in movies is a common practice to achieve the right volume for the big screen Regardless, fans were taken aback at how well-suited the wig was for both Streep and the character she played. 'I would never have guessed. Exceptional,' one user wrote. 'To me, it's also how luscious that silver looks on her. It feels so believable that it's her own hair because it goes so gorgeously with her face and skin and the Miranda Priestly aura,' a user shared. 'She looks even better with the silver than she does with her natural blonde to me.' The only thing left to see is how Miranda Priestly will make her legendary comeback - and just what wig she'll be wearing.
