FieldEx Taps Datadog To Advance Resilience And Operational Efficiency
Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG), the monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, has announced that Malaysian B2B SaaS startup, FieldEx, has significantly improved operational efficiency and reduced downtime risk using the Datadog platform. FieldEx delivers a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that enables organisations in Asia-Pacific Africa to streamline operations through a single, unified platform. The solution allows users – including those in the construction, telecoms and financial services industries – to track equipment, manage inventory, assign jobs, schedule maintenance, and manage repairs. Following a period of rapid customer growth FieldEx began feeling strain across its systems and applications as it found itself processing more than 15 terabytes of data per week. 'Our rapid expansion led to a surge in traffic, data complexity and ultimately the risk of downtime. Disruptions, even for a minute or two, impact our customers' mission critical operations ' said Vijay Dharmaraj, Chief Architect and Security Officer at FieldEx. 'We recognised we needed a modern observability solution that could help us maintain customer trust, ensure service reliability, and proactively identify issues before they impact end users. This is where Datadog fits in beautifully – it caters to both our platform uptime target of 99.9 per cent availability, and provides deep insights that allow us to finetune the system and strengthen both our platform reliability and our overall cybersecurity posture.' Bringing stability and cohesion as more departments adopt tools Since implementation, Datadog has significantly enhanced FieldEx's system stability, provided precise issue detection and alerting, and freed engineers from manual monitoring tasks to focus on delivering new features and responding to evolving market opportunities at a much faster pace. 'This stability and real-time visibility have directly improved customer trust and accelerated our Go-To-Market strategies,' said Dharmaraj. Datadog has helped FieldEx achieve a 30 per cent increase in operational efficiency. Mean time to detect (MTTD) improved by 92 per cent, dropping to less than two minutes versus the 25 minutes previously required. Additionally, the mean time to acknowledgement (MTTA) reduced by 75 per cent from 40 minutes to 10, and mean time to resolution dropped 56 per cent, from 95 minutes to 42. The Datadog platform was initially used by FieldEx's security teams, but has since evolved to become the go-to solution for engineering and quality assurance teams. It equips each department with a feature-rich toolset for system validation and troubleshooting. Specifically, Datadog Workflow Automation integrates email, Slack and PagerDuty, enabling swift incident response, and Datadog Application Performance Monitoring (APM) provides actionable insights on the live system uncovering performance bottlenecks and setting the stage for their removal. In addition, Datadog's Security Analytics Indexed Logs alongside Sensitive Data Scanner reinforce FieldEx's layered cybersecurity defence by delivering real-time threat detection, identifying sensitive data exposure, and supporting both data loss prevention and regulatory compliance. Saving time and increasing efficiency With FieldEx operating in multiple markets, 24x7 monitoring was an essential feature to allow for immediate probing and alerts when an issue arises. Datadog's automated, round-the-clock monitoring means the engineering team is no longer tasked with manual monitoring and can instead concentrate on more strategic initiatives. 'Previously, engineers relied on DevOps to access and relay production metrics,' said Dharmaraj. 'Datadog not only democratised access to critical operational data, but also enhanced our security posture by eliminating the need for direct system logins – giving our team secure, real-time visibility into vital production metrics and logs.' With more time available to FieldEx's teams, they have been able to focus on improving their product, and can now bring more features and benefits to its customers. Dharmaraj said Datadog brought in a 'watch-tower'-like visibility across FieldEx's server infrastructure, instilling a deep sense of operational stability as every inch of the overall system is being monitored and anomalies instantly flagged. 'It's a fantastic tool that knows every moving part in your infrastructure,' he said. 'It alerts you in advance and helps you to get to the bottom of the issue at lightning speeds.' FieldEx is also planning to leverage Datadog On-Call, Real User Monitoring (RUM) and will begin using more of the many advanced features within the Datadog platform. 'FieldEx's rapid expansion has resulted in a challenge common to successful start-ups: complexity at scale,' said Rob Thorne, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) at Datadog. 'Deploying the Datadog platform has granted FieldEx a comprehensive observability strategy through a unified dashboard, helping it create stability and cohesion through real-time visibility, and simultaneously supporting its security posture. The company can now understand its expanding technology footprint and resolve issues before they are felt by its teams and customers.' About Datadog Datadog is the observability and security platform for cloud applications. Our SaaS platform integrates and automates infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, log management, user experience monitoring, cloud security and many other capabilities to provide unified, real-time observability and security for our customers' entire technology stack. Datadog is used by organisations of all sizes and across a wide range of industries to enable digital transformation and cloud migration, drive collaboration among development, operations, security and business teams, accelerate time to market for applications, reduce time to problem resolution, secure applications and infrastructure, understand user behaviour and track key business metrics. FieldEx boosts efficiency & security with Datadog platform
FieldEx, a Malaysian B2B SaaS startup serving organisations in Asia-Pacific and Africa with equipment tracking, inventory management, job assignment, maintenance scheduling, and repairs through a single platform, has reported a significant boost in operational efficiency and a reduced risk of downtime following the deployment of Datadog's monitoring and security platform. The company, operating across sectors including construction, telecommunications, and financial services, experienced rapid growth that intensified strain on its systems and underscored the need for a robust observability solution to assure reliability and pre-empt issues before they affected services. With Datadog, FieldEx achieved a 30 per cent uplift in operational efficiency and saw measurable improvements in the speed of issue detection, acknowledgement, and resolution. Identifying the need FieldEx Chief Architect and Security Officer Vijay Dharmaraj explained that the company's rapid expansion increased both data complexity and the risk of outages. "Our rapid expansion led to a surge in traffic, data complexity and ultimately the risk of downtime. Disruptions, even for a minute or two, impact our customers' mission critical operations," he said. "We recognised we needed a modern observability solution that could help us maintain customer trust, ensure service reliability, and proactively identify issues before they impact end users. This is where Datadog fits in beautifully – it caters to both our platform uptime target of 99.9 per cent availability, and provides deep insights that allow us to finetune the system and strengthen both our platform reliability and our overall cybersecurity posture." The platform processes more than 15 terabytes of data per week as a result of FieldEx's user growth. Following the transition to Datadog, the startup streamlined system monitoring, enhanced stability, and automated incident alerting, alleviating the monitoring burden previously carried out manually by its engineers. Operational gains "This stability and real-time visibility have directly improved customer trust and accelerated our Go-To-Market strategies," said Dharmaraj. With Datadog, mean time to detect issues improved by 92 per cent, dropping to less than two minutes. Mean time to acknowledgement fell by 75 per cent to 10 minutes, while mean time to resolution decreased by 56 per cent to 42 minutes. FieldEx reported that these gains allowed engineering teams to refocus on product development and market initiatives, rather than monitoring tasks. Initially adopted by FieldEx's security team, the Datadog platform is now used across engineering and quality assurance departments, equipping them for system validation and troubleshooting. The adoption of Datadog Workflow Automation, integrating tools such as email, Slack, and PagerDuty, has streamlined incident response. Application Performance Monitoring (APM) has revealed system performance bottlenecks, providing actionable insights to address these issues. Dharmaraj emphasised the additional value brought by Datadog's security tools: "Datadog's Security Analytics Indexed Logs alongside Sensitive Data Scanner reinforce FieldEx's layered cybersecurity defence by delivering real-time threat detection, identifying sensitive data exposure, and supporting both data loss prevention and regulatory compliance." Security and visibility Operating in multiple markets, FieldEx required 24/7 oversight. "Previously, engineers relied on DevOps to access and relay production metrics," said Dharmaraj. "Datadog not only democratised access to critical operational data, but also enhanced our security posture by eliminating the need for direct system logins – giving our team secure, real-time visibility into vital production metrics and logs." With automated monitoring in place, FieldEx engineers have shifted from manual, routine checks to more strategic projects, resulting in an improved focus on developing new features for customers. Dharmaraj likened the enhanced monitoring capability to a supervisory role over the company's technical infrastructure: "Datadog brought in a 'watch-tower'-like visibility across FieldEx's server infrastructure, instilling a deep sense of operational stability as every inch of the overall system is being monitored and anomalies instantly flagged." "It's a fantastic tool that knows every moving part in your infrastructure," he said. "It alerts you in advance and helps you to get to the bottom of the issue at lightning speeds." Future plans Looking ahead, FieldEx intends to further leverage Datadog's platform by integrating On-Call, Real User Monitoring (RUM), and exploring other advanced features from the suite. Rob Thorne, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan at Datadog, noted the demand for cohesive oversight amongst fast-growing firms. "FieldEx's rapid expansion has resulted in a challenge common to successful start-ups: complexity at scale. Deploying the Datadog platform has granted FieldEx a comprehensive observability strategy through a unified dashboard, helping it create stability and cohesion through real-time visibility, and simultaneously supporting its security posture. The company can now understand its expanding technology footprint and resolve issues before they are felt by its teams and customers."

Key demands raised at Mysuru DRUCC meeting
The Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting held here on Wednesday reflected growing expectations from the Railways by the public and the concerns of the rail users in equal measure. The rail users represented the entire division and the authorities said that the response was acknowledged in a positive manner by the railway administration as these inputs, would help in enhancing passenger convenience and operational efficiency. Some of the demands have been pending for years and were raised again and a strong plea was made for introduction of additional trains connecting Mysuru to Ajmer and Mumbai, citing growing passenger demand and the need for better connectivity to these important destinations. A proposal was also suggested by the rail users to reschedule the timings of Train No. 16205 (Talguppa–Mysuru Express) so that it reaches Mysuru before 9 p.m. so as to facilitate easier onward travel and better last-mile connectivity for passengers arriving in the evening. Suggestions were also made to construct adequate shelter for two-wheeler parking areas at stations to provide protection to vehicles from natural elements. The committee members drew attention to the increasing commuter population from Byadgi and wanted the authorities to provide a stoppage for important trains to cater to the railway users in the area. Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, Divisional Commercial Manager, said in a move that could benefit silk industry, the rail users consultative committee sought permission for loading of silk consignments from Shivamogga with arrangements made to their transportation to Ramanagara. It was reasoned that such a move could significantly benefit the silk industry and promote regional economic activity through rail-based freight services, said Mr. Dharmaraj. Members also urged for commissioning of prepaid autorickshaw systems at key stations to ensure regulated, safe, and hassle-free transportation for passengers, especially during peak hours. The Railway authorities were urged to expedite and complete the ongoing renovation works at several railway stations — both to increase functional efficiency of passenger amenities and to improve aesthetic appeal. Other demands that stemmed during the meeting pertained to prominent display of contact numbers of the Battery Operated Vehicle (BOV) operations at various stations. This would enable the specially-abled persons, the sick and elderly passengers to easily avail of these mobility services. Divisional Railway Manager Mudit Mittal assured the committee members that the issues raised in the meeting would be taken up on priority, subject to feasibility, and approval would be sought from the competent authorities. He said the Mysuru division remains committed to improving both passenger experience and operational effectiveness through active engagement with its stakeholders. Vinayak R. Nayak, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru, and other officials were present.
