Ranbir Kapoor's Sister Riddhima To Debut In First Feature Film: ‘All I Can Say...'
Last Updated: Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, is officially stepping into Bollywood with her debut feature film. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is turning a new page in her life — and it reads straight out of a Bollywood script. The daughter of film legends Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima is stepping out of the shadows of legacy and into the spotlight as she begins filming her debut feature film. After dipping her toes into the world of entertainment with Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives in 2024, the fashion designer-turned-actor is now taking on her first full-length Bollywood project. Confirming the news to Hindustan Times, she said, 'Yes, I am filming a movie in the hills." While she chose to keep the title and plot under wraps, she hinted, 'All I can say is that we're shooting here until June." Rumour mills suggest the film might also star comedy icon Kapil Sharma and Riddhima's mother, veteran actor Neetu Kapoor — but Riddhima prefers to stay mum on the details. What she does share, however, is her excitement about the journey. 'I'm here and enjoying the process thoroughly," she smiled. As a proud member of the Kapoor cinematic dynasty, Riddhima is aware of the emotional weight of carrying the torch forward — a path her brother Ranbir Kapoor has walked with acclaim. 'They're all so excited. I keep sending them snippets of my scenes. They're incredibly supportive. The best part? I'm staying with Mom and we rehearse our lines together every day," she revealed. Her daughter Samara is also set to visit the set during her summer break. Interestingly, Riddhima admits the opportunity came out of the blue. 'I didn't plan this. When I was approached, I just said yes. I heard the script and loved it," she confessed, adding that she followed her instincts. Her acting debut came in the third season of Netflix's popular reality series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, which returned with a twist in 2024 under the new title Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment, the season featured Riddhima alongside fellow newcomers Shalini Passi and Kalyani Saha Chawla as they navigated their way into the existing circle of glam and gossip. R Madhavan On The Lack Of Romantic Film Genres In This Generation: "No One Does Romance Like Shah Rukh Khan, But..."
New Delhi: R Madhavan might not be the go-to choice for a romantic hero in Bollywood, but his film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein with Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan has over the year gained a cult status. The debate about the lack of heartfelt romantic films in Bollywood, in the current generation has been rampant. R Madhavan in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke about how the rise of action and thriller genres has taken over the joy of good old romance. R Madhavan said, "I don't recall any rom-com that has worked on OTT platforms either. I know the Korean [dramas] work but I don't recall seeing any hardcore, Indian, romantic film. Let alone one that is age-appropriate for a 55-year-old." Speaking of Shah Rukh Khan's unmatched quality of acing the romantic genre on screen, R Madhavan said, "Don't blame the money. Get us a story, no? One that is well-researched. No one does romance like Shah Rukh [Khan] but one needs a heroine of his age as well. That's getting difficult to find." Madhavan shed light on the perspective that the issue is with closing the gap in age disparity between a male and a female co-star, to make these romantic stories a cult favourite again. He highlighted that this age disparity is particularly existing in romantic genres which needs to be attended to. R Madhavan was last seen in Kesari Chapter 2 with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday. He will next be seen in Aap Jaisa Koi with Fatima Sana Shaikh, directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment. The plot revolves around the lead pair, where both actors play professors. Once again the age gap between the two is notable, the film attempts to revive a genre that has been missing for a long time.
