So I have enough time. I will go back to Ranchi - haven't been home for a long time - enjoy a few bike rides, [take a] couple of months and then also spoke candidly about the increasing physical demands of the game. "His Phone Got Under The Seat...": How Ravindra Jadeja Escaped Meeting MS Dhoni
India and Chennai Super Kings player Ravindra Jadeja has played a lot of cricket under MS Dhoni's captaincy, be it in international arena or in the Indian Premier League. While Dhoni called time on his career at the highest level in 2020, he continues to play with Jadeja for Chennai Super Kings. Both the players share a great camaraderie, but things were not like this during the forming years of Jadeja. In a recent interview, the all-rounder revealed that he used to hesitate to talk to Dhoni at the beginning. He also explained in detail how he escaped his first interaction with Dhoni. Jadeja made the revelation while speaking to former India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter's YouTube channel. Talking about the first time he saw Dhoni, Jadeja said, "The first time I met him was the Challenger Trophy in Chennai in 2005. He was going to Chennai from Mumbai. I was sitting in the Economy class and Mahi bhai was sitting in the Business class. People started talking about that Dhoni is sitting at the front. I always used to hesitate to talk to Dhoni. I even get hesitated now as well, whenever he is not in the best of moods. He might not tell you, but it is evident from the face that he doesn't want to talk." "Back then I was a kid and thus had a lot of fear about it. That was the first time I saw him in the flight. My manager told me that I had to go to the hotel from airport with him. I started thinking, 'How would I react in front of him. What would I talk to him?' "His phone got under the seat and that is why he took some time to retrieve it. I found it a good opportunity to escape and left the flight immediately." Jadeja turned out to become India's one of the best all-rounders and his talent got a lot of support under Dhoni's leadership, which eventually saw the player shine at the highest level. MS Dhoni Spotted Fishing In Patriotic Gear Amid IPL 2025 Exit And Retirement Buzz
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni was recently spotted unwinding in a unique way — fishing while sporting a powerful patriotic T-shirt. This candid moment comes just days after CSK's disappointing IPL 2025 campaign, adding a deeper layer to Dhoni's enduring legacy as a cricketer and a proud Indian. MS Dhoni enjoying the fishing after the IPL 2025. [Kush Mahi] — Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) May 29, 2025 The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season was a tough one for Chennai Super Kings, one of the tournament's most decorated franchises. For the first time in IPL history, CSK finished at the bottom of the points table, winning only 4 matches out of 14. This shocking outcome left fans and experts alike questioning what went wrong for the Yellow Army. Stepping in as stand-in captain due to Ruturaj Gaikwad's unfortunate elbow injury, MS Dhoni tried to steer the team through turbulent waters. Dhoni's individual stats — 196 runs at an average of 24.50 with a strike rate of 135.17 — reflected a mixed season. His decision to bat lower down the order sparked debate and criticism, underscoring the challenges CSK faced in finding their rhythm. Despite the rough patch, Dhoni's leadership and calm demeanour remained a stabilizing factor for the team throughout the season. MS Dhoni's Patriotic Fishing Outing Goes Viral In the aftermath of the IPL 2025 league stages, MS Dhoni was spotted relaxing by going fishing — an activity that perfectly complements his calm and composed personality off the field. What truly captured fans' attention, however, was the T-shirt he wore during this outing. Emblazoned with the words 'Duty, Honour, Country,' the T-shirt is a bold reminder of Dhoni's unwavering respect and deep connection to the Indian Armed Forces. This patriotic message resonates with many fans who admire Dhoni not just as a cricketing icon but also as a proud patriot. Dhoni's honorary rank as Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army is well-known. Awarded in 2011, Dhoni has undergone paratrooper training and even served a 15-day stint with the Victor Force in Kashmir in 2019. The fishing photo wearing such meaningful attire has reignited discussions about Dhoni's multi-faceted personality and his love for the nation. The Retirement Buzz: What's Next for Dhoni? With CSK's IPL 2025 campaign over, speculation around Dhoni's future has intensified. After the final group match, Dhoni remained non-committal about his playing days. Instead, he emphasized the need to take a break — a 4 to 5 month pause to assess his body and then make a decision about his cricketing future. One confirmed update is Dhoni's decision to step down from the captaincy for IPL 2026, handing over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhoni expressed confidence in Gaikwad's leadership and the team's potential to bounce back stronger with a balanced squad. Fans and cricket analysts eagerly await Dhoni's next move, hoping for one last memorable chapter from the IPL legend.

Ravindra Jadeja finally lets it all out on 'difficult' CSK captaincy fiasco: 'All the blame always...'
In 2022, Chennai Super Kings took their first big step towards transition when MS Dhoni shockingly stepped down as captain on the eve of their season opener to hand over the reins to Ravindra Jadeja. However, the hopes came crashing down within a month as Chennai managed just two wins in the first eight matches, amid a significant dip in Jadeja's form. Midway through the season, Jadeja stepped down, handing the duties back to Dhoni, which eventually sparked a major fiasco, with reports hinting at a rift between the two senior players. For the first time since the incident, Jadeja opened up on the "difficult" stint as a captain of Chennai, admitting that he could have done things differently. "It was difficult. In T20 cricket, every ball is an event. It is a fast game but for me it was an experience. I could have done better. As a captain, if you are team is not doing well then all the blame always falls on the captaincy. Thinking, bowling changes, fielding chances. Unfortunately, the team was not doing well. If we were winning and everyone was contributing, then it was not rocket science," Jadeja said in conversation with Chennai teammate Ravichandran Ashwin on the 'Kutti Stories With Ash' YouTube show. An underwhelming season from Chennai and a faltering form of Jadeja forced the all-rounder to resign from his captaincy post in order to "focus more on his game" and "requested Dhoni to lead CSK." Jadeja had reportedly had a conversation with head coach Stephen Fleming and Dhoni before taking the call. N Srinivasan, Super Kings' owner, was also consulted on the matter. Overall, Jadeja managed just 112 runs in eight games, averaging 22.4 at a strike rate of 121.7, a sharp decline in his form, having amassed 459 runs in the previous two seasons at an average of 57.3 and a strike rate of 157.7. His bowling, on the other hand, was also affected. Having picked 19 wickets in the last two seasons at an economy rate of 7.7, he managed only five wickets during his captaincy tenure, at 42.6 and an economy rate of 8.1.
