Dia urged citizens to join the movement led by Energy Swaraj and Professor Solanki, which aims to unite one billion people in making informed and sustainable choices. She wrote, 'The Solar Man of India Professor Chetan Singh Solanki continues on his mission for #CimateAction. The Finite Earth Movement is a clarion call for each of us to recognise that we live on a planet that has finite resources. This means that we are using natural resources 1.7 times faster than the planet can regenerate them. This is why we need to urgently correct our patterns of consumption by informed choices. The @energy_swaraj @drchetansolanki aim to bring 1 Billion people together on this mission. Join the movement this # World EnvironmentDay2025.' Dia Mirza opens up about her most terrifying midnights in hotel rooms during her early Bollywood days
Dia Mirza began her cinematic journey not as a star but as a background dancer in a Tamil film. Her rise in the Indian film industry has been anything but straightforward. Born outside the glitzy circles of Bollywood, she fought her way into the limelight. Her breakthrough moment came when she clinched the Miss Asia Pacific International crown in 2000, a turning point that led her to her Hindi film debut in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein , where she starred opposite R. Madhavan. Her early years in the industry were marked by both hope and heartbreak. Despite her talent, Dia often found herself sidelined. Many opportunities she deserved were handed over to those with powerful family connections or industry alliances. For an artist without a well-connected background, the struggle was both professional and personal. She recounted how, to ensure her own safety, she would share her hotel room with her hairdresser to prevent unwelcome intrusions during shoots and travels. It wasn't a glamorous life, but it was necessary for survival. Dia grew up facing hardships early on. Her parents separated when she was just four, and she lost her father when she was nine. While many female actors had the comforting presence of a parent guiding and supporting them through the highs and lows of showbiz, Dia had to build her own support system. She leaned heavily on her team—her hairdresser, makeup artist, and spotboy—who became more than colleagues; they were her extended family, her fortress. Boite A Scoop Undo One of the constants in her life was her spotboy, Prasad Anna, who stood by her throughout her career until his passing during the Covid pandemic. Similarly, her hairdresser remained by her side for nearly two decades, starting from her very first film. This group of dedicated professionals became her shield against the chaos and unpredictability of the industry. She never felt the need to replace them, as their presence gave her the emotional and physical safety many take for granted. Dia acknowledged that her path as an outsider was daunting, filled with emotional and logistical challenges. But her resilience was born out of necessity. She didn't have parents to navigate the system for her or manage her career moves. What she lacked in industry clout, she made up for with determination and loyalty to those who stood by her. Recently, Dia was seen in the Netflix release Nadaaniyan, alongside rising stars Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Her continued presence in the industry stands as a testament to her perseverance, strength, and the unbreakable bond she formed with those who helped her survive a world that wasn't always kind or welcoming.

Dia Mirza recalls her ‘complicated delivery', son Avyaan weighed 810 gms at birth: ‘I said save my child, could not hold him until he was 2.5 kgs'
Dia Mirza welcomed her baby boy Avyaan in 2021 and in a recent interview, Dia opened up about her complicated delivery as her son had to be pulled out in her sixth month and had to undergo life-saving surgery just 36 hours after he was born at 810 grams. Dia shared that through all of this, she had complete faith in the universe that her son would be healthy at the end of it all. She also shared that they had to make difficult decisions in a matter of seconds but Dia's priority through this was her child. 'I was the least of my priorities. I said, 'Save my kid,'' she said. In a chat shared on the YouTube channel of Official People of India, Dia shared that she was always an 'extremely maternal person, right from my childhood' and if it was upto her, she 'would have had a baby when I was 26, but life had different plans for me and I finally conceived when I was 39.' She then recalled her son's birth and said that it was a very 'crazy situation' as 'it was a very complicated delivery.' Dia Mirza shared that she 'developed a very acute bacterial infection' and at the end of her sixth month of pregnancy, 'we discovered my placenta was hemorrhaging and that was my body was going into sepsis, and if the baby was not pulled out, neither of us would have been saved. It was quite scary.' She recalled that they had to make decisions in a matter of seconds and at this point, her gynecologist told her that 'this is the best thing for your child.' When reminded that it was perhaps the best thing for her as well, Dia said, 'I was the least of my priorities. I said, 'Save my kid' because I so wanted this child.' ALSO READ | Dia Mirza recalls 'hard, terrifying' years of sharing room with her hairdresser to ward off unwanted midnight knocks on door: 'Had to find a way to survive' As soon as her son was born weighing 810 grams, he was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). After 48 hours, the doctors discovered that the bacteria in her was life-threatening. 'I was on IV antibiotics for 21 days and Avyaan had to go through life saving surgery 36 hours after he was born,' Dia shared as she explained that her son had a perforation in his intestine when he was born. The actor shared that since this was in the middle of the pandemic, she was only allowed to visit her son in the NICU twice a week. 'I could not hold my child till he was 2.5 kgs,' she shared. Dia recalled that she brought her son home for 20 days and had to take him for another surgery when he was 3.5 kgs. When asked how she gathered the strength to go through all of this with her son, Dia shared, 'Strength… I think it comes from… Because I loved him so much and I wanted him so much. I didn't, for a second, believe that he would leave me. And I had implicit faith in the universe that if I got him after so many years, after so many prayers, then he won't leave me. And I tapped into every prayer I had access to. I remember listening to Mahamrityunjaya Mantra on repeat, praying to every master there is to protect him and keep him safe. I really think there is an energy that transfers… Avyaan gave me indescribable strength. He just did. I didn't feel fear for a fraction of a second through that entire period. I never once felt that something bad could happen to him. I was like, whatever it is, we are going to get through it, we will be fine. I still feel like that.' Dia's son Avyaan recently celebrated his fourth birthday.

Dia Mirza recalls sharing room with her hairdresser to ward off unwanted visitors: 'We have to find our ways to survive'
Dia Mirza who made her debut with 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein' paved a path for herself in the industry as an outsider with no support. In a recent interview, Dia has opened up on how she had to find her own ways to survive here and create a safety net for herself. She admitted that it was scary initially when she started out young but her team was her constant support through the years. When asked about surviving in the industry, without any backing, Dia said in an interview with Official People Of India, "I'll have to write a book about that someday. There's so much, there are so many layers to that question. But, if I have to be simple, it was hard and terrifying." She also spoke about saving herself from unwanted situations or attention sometimes and said, "My hairdresser used to share my room with me for many years to ward off unwanted visitors. It was really hard. I myself look back now and think I don't know how I managed.' The actress added, "A lot of the women in the industry have always had some parent around. Somebody's father or mother have always been a very active participant in their film career. I never had that. My team – hairdresser, makeup artist, and spotboy were my safety net. Which is why I never changed those technicians and that support group for years." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esta nueva alarma con cámara es casi regalada en Colonia La Yerba (ver precio) Verisure Undo The actor continued, 'Prasad anna was my spotboy for all of the years that I worked until he passed away. I lost him during Covid. My hairdresser worked with me for 16-17 years straight, from my first film. That kind of created a safety net for me. We have to find out own ways to survive.' Dia also added that today when she looks back, she regrets some of her characters. "There are so many things that I have done as scenes or the kind of characters that I have played in my earlier films, without even realising how regressive some of that was or how I was being objectified, or how patriarchal the mindset was in the projection of the character. All of that only becomes something that you learn about and become aware of, therefore you can make better choices later.
