Dianne Buswell wants to have children with Joe Sugg ‘when the time is right'
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has revealed she wants to have children with her partner Joe Sugg when the time is right and 'everything aligns'. The dancer, 36, met YouTube star Sugg when they were partnered together on the BBC One dancing show in 2018. Advertisement She told Prima magazine: 'When Joe and I met, it wasn't until the show ended that we realised we missed each other's company a lot – our relationship went from there. We always got on, he was so funny to me, and I loved how creative he was. 'We've always wanted kids, it's just finding the right time. I don't feel worried about taking time out from dancing, I just don't see the point in worrying. Dianne Buswell on the September cover of Prima UK (Prima UK/David Venni) 'When everything aligns, it will happen. I have to have that vision. I like to practise manifestation, I'm quite spiritual.' Reflecting on life in the public eye, she said: 'Joe and I forget we're famous sometimes – when we're out and about, we'll be like, 'Why are they looking at us? Ah, okay, I remember'. Advertisement 'It doesn't feel that difficult to have a relationship in the public eye – we're good at not taking notice of things that are written about us. 'Sometimes, though, people are obsessed with wanting to find out things, such as where we live, so it can be hard in terms of privacy.' Buswell also reflected on what it was like to win Strictly in 2024 alongside her celebrity dance partner, Chris McCausland, who became the first blind person to compete on the series. 'He had to trust me 100%, I had to trust him 100% and so it was a really strong bond from the word go', she said. Advertisement 'I taught him a lot, but he taught me just as much. I've always loved comedy and had a niche for comedic timing but being a dancer, we don't talk, we dance. Chris has allowed me to be more of the character that I naturally am.' During the series, the couple performed a viral 'blackout' dance which saw comedian McCausland place his hands over Buswell's eyes as the room faded to black, mimicking his everyday experience. When the lights returned, the 48-year-old was spinning around with Buswell on his shoulders as pyrotechnics flared in the background. ITV icon details Strictly 'ban' as they confess on-air 'I can't do it'
As Strictly Come Dancing is fast approaching, one ITV star has ruled out ever taking part in the BBC series. As the excitement builds for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, speculation is rife about which celebrities will be stepping onto the dance floor. Last series, the BBC programme broke new ground by featuring comedian Chris McCausland as its first blind contestant, who triumphed in the competition alongside Dianne Buswell. While the BBC has yet to confirm any participants, rumours are swirling with potential contenders such as Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, Ashley Cain, Stacey Solomon and Dani Dyer tipped to be donning their dancing shoes. Yet, there's one well-known personality who has ruled himself out of the running. This Morning presenter Ben Shephard has revealed that his wife, Annie, has vetoed his participation due to fears of the infamous 'Strictly curse',reports the Mirror. The 'curse' is notorious for causing off-screen romances between contestants and their professional dance partners, often leading to relationship woes. A few years back, during a conversation with Andi Peters on Good Morning Britain, Ben confessed his desire to join the show: "Andi, I would love to do Strictly. "As you know, I spent three years in university learning to dance, I have a degree in dance - it doesn't make me a good dancer, obviously. However, he acknowledged his wife's reservations: "But my wife really doesn't want me to do Strictly, I've spoken about it very publicly, but she's not interested in me having an affair." Ben humorously remarked on his wife's stance: "I think she's being very narrow-minded and it could be a great opportunity, who knows what could happen? "It would be an amazing experience, I love a bit of spangle and glamour on a Saturday night... "As things stand though, that's a negotiation that needs to happen between the BBC and my wife. I can get myself into a lot of trouble here." The notorious 'Strictly Curse' has become a well-known phenomenon, with a number of celebrities ending their relationships after participating in Strictly Come Dancing. But it's not all about heartbreak; the show has also been the starting point for several romantic connections between stars and their dance partners. Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley are among the success stories from the show, having developed a romance during their triumphant stint in 2018, echoing the experiences of fellow participants Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell. Rachel Riley found love with her dance partner Pasha Kovalev, while Seann Walsh was at the centre of controversy for his infamous kiss with his married dance partner Katya Jones, which resulted in the end of his relationship with his girlfriend.
