BCCI's big move, fired coach set to travel to England, Gill to miss....
In this collection of pictures we shall know BCCI's big move as fired coach set to travel to England alongside Team India. There is also a news about Shubman Gill. Let's dive in. The BCCI has reversed its earlier decision, as ex-fielding coach T. Dilip who was removed from his role, will now be heading to England as part of the support staff for the upcoming five-match Test series beginning next month. According to The Indian Express, the BCCI had been exploring options for an overseas fielding specialist but were unable to identify a fitting choice. The five-match Test series between India and England is set to commence on June 20, marking India's first appearance in the longest format since their crushing 3-1 loss to Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. "We have decided to reappoint Dilip for a year and he will be travelling with the Indian team for England. His contract so far is for one year," a source in the Indian board confirmed as quoted by Indian Express. Dilip has been associated with the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for several years, where he has collaborated extensively with players like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal from the present generation, as well as earlier groups. Former off-spinner Ravi Ashwin, now retired, once referred to him as a "celebrity coach" and praised his role in enhancing India's slip fielding. Indian Express also reported that the Indian squad will travel alongside head coach Gautam Gambhir, fielding specialist Dilip, batting mentor Sitanshu Kotak, pace coach Morne Morkel, and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate. In addition, newly appointed Test skipper Shubman Gill is expected to miss the second practice match in Northampton, slated for June 6. The young opener is currently captaining the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, and with the team making it to the playoffs, the final—set for June 3—could leave little time for him to travel to England. To manage his workload ahead of the 46-day series, the team leadership has opted to allow him a short break.

Removed By BCCI In April, Star Coach T Dilip Re-Appointed And Will Travel To England With India
The BCCI has decided to reappoint T Dilip as the team's fielding coach for the upcoming tour of England after failing to zero in on a suitable replacement. The BCCI had decided to part ways with Dilip, along with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, last month in a coaching staff shake-up following India's poor outing in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. "Dilip is a good coach, who served the team well for over three years (from 2021). He knows most of these cricketers very closely. So, to have him on board for a big series (vs England) will do the team only good," a source close to the development told PTI. The BCCI was very keen to rope in a foreign name as the new fielding coach but the governing body could not do it at the required time. "So, there is no point in bringing in a fresh name at this stage, and Dilip is very popular with players too," he added. During his earlier stint, Dilip had earlier introduced some populist measures such as giving medals for the best fielder on a match day or bringing in some legendary figures to distribute those medals. Gill, Sudharsan in doubt for warm-up Newly-appointed Test skipper Shubhman Gill and reserve batter B Sai Sudharsan could miss India A's second four-day game against England Lions, beginning on June 6. They are part of Gujarat Titans. If GT qualify for the final, which is scheduled on June 3 at Ahmedabad, it will be tough for both Gill and Sudharshan to join the India A ahead of the the match. Moreover, they will have to quickly adapt to different conditions in England to the red-ball format. They have always been scheduled to miss the first India A four-day game, starting against the Lions on May 30. India A will be coached by former India player Hrishikesh Kanitkar and he will be assisted by Ryan ten Doeschate (batting) and Troy Cooley (bowling).

Rohit Sharma's personal request to Gautam Gambhir leads to change in Indian cricket team's backroom staff: Report
A personal request from Rohit Sharma to Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir reportedly led to a crucial change to the backroom staff. read more Former Indian Test team captain Rohit Sharma reportedly played a crucial role in helping T Dilip secure a new contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as a fielding coach. Dilip has reportedly been given an extension by the BCCI as the Indian cricket team's fielding coach after being informed a few weeks back that his time with the national team is over. The news agency PTI has claimed that BCCI wanted to bring in a foreign fielding coach, but after failing to find a suitable replacement in quick time, it decided to rehire Dilip for the upcoming five-match Test tour of England that starts on 20 June. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD New details, however, have emerged since then, which claim that Dilip has been given a one-year temporary extension and as a result, Ryan ten Doeschate will continue as assistant to head coach Gautam Gambhir. Ryan ten Doeschate was reportedly set to take over as fielding coach. Gambhir pays heed to Rohit's request The most interesting detail to emerge is Rohit Sharma's role in getting Dilip rehired by the BCCI. As per a report in Cricbuzz, Dilip is very close to Rohit and the former Indian Test team captain made a case for the fielding coach's contract extension to Gambhir and the BCCI. Rohit reportedly personally requested Gambhir to continue with Dilip as a fielding coach. Well, it seems Gambhir has paid heed to Rohit's requests after initially deciding to remove Dilip and batting coach Abhishek Nayar from his team. Both Dilip and Nayar are very close to Rohit and they were informed in April by BCCI that they will not be getting a contract extension after May. Nayar has since joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with whom he won the IPL 2024 title. The Cricbuzz reports also state that the India A team, along with a few members of the Test squad, has arrived in England.
