Guy Fieri reveals Cincinnati chili order, calls town 'really cool' food city

The Mayor of Flavortown declared Cincinnati "one of the really cool food cities" with "next-level chefs" in a visit to Jungle Jim's on May 5. Emmy-winning TV presenter and celebrity chef Guy Fieri, best known for his Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," gushed about the Queen City's culinary scene during an appearance he made at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate to promote his Santo Spirits brand. "Cincinnati continues to grow and emerge as one of the really cool food cities. You've got a lot of culture, a lot of history and then you've got all kinds of next-level chefs coming up," Fieri said at the Jungle Jim's event, which was open to the public. Fieri added that he filmed at three Cincinnati-area restaurants as part of his beloved "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" series, but he won't share which they are yet. "(They) are what I call 'destination restaurants,' like you would drive a couple hours to come and get to one of these restaurants. And I'm not going to tell you what they are yet. You probably already know, but they're big and they're hot. Get ready," the restaurateur said. Fieri, who proclaimed he's a Cincinnati-style chili-lover, said his go-to order is a five-way, though he wishes he could go beyond and add even more toppings. "I like spice, I want jalapeños, but I don't think you can go past a five-way right?" Fieri said. "If you go to Flavortown with it ... because how great would it be to have some crumbled-up Fritos on top and some jalapeños on top, maybe some fried shallots. I could let it roll." The TV personality added that he tried a Cincinnati chili pizza earlier in the day, which he called "jaw-dropping." Fieri's tequila brand, which is a collaboration between him and his friend, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar, launched in 2019 with a selection of tequilas featuring bold and authentic flavors. Fieri and Hagar's brand has several award-winning spirits, including Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, a 110-proof Blanco Tequila and Mezquila, the world's first tequila and mezcal blend. Ray Ray's Hog Pit to open new location in former Wizard of Za shop

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ray Ray's Hog Pit, a fleet of barbecue eateries featured on 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,' is trading one of its food trucks for a new central Ohio storefront inside the space previously home to Wizard of Za. The brand's longtime food truck parked outside Ace of Cups is shuttering to make way for a new brick-and-mortar location inside a shared space with sushi chain Fusian at 4214 N. High St. in the Clintonville neighborhood. Fusian was most recently roommates with Wizard of Za, a pizzeria whose Sicilian-style pies garnered a month-long wait during the COVID-19 pandemic. Trapper Johns Livery reopens with new owner after 2024 closure Closed in January, Wizard of Za was created by Youngstown native Spencer Saylor, who sold his pizza through his Instagram in 2020 and later collaborated with Paceline Restaurants, the owner of Fusian, to move into the Clintonville store. Paceline acquired the Wizard of Za brand in 2022 and expanded with a second location in Dayton that closed last year. Ray Ray's Clintonville move comes after the brand opened its first full-service restaurant inside a historic Marion building on May 13. Although Ray Ray's is known for food trucks and walk-up eateries, the Marion restaurant marks the brand's first foray into full-service dining. Watch a previous report on the Marion restaurant in the video player above. The barbecue fleet is currently home to several other central Ohio eateries, like the food truck parked outside Aardvark Wine & Beer in Linworth. The brand also operates a walk-up window at Land-Grant Brewing in Franklinton, a drive-thru in Westerville, and a casual dine-in and pick-up location in Granville. $250 million facility opens down the road from Intel in New Albany, creating 225 jobs Ray Ray's Reload, one of the brand's renovated food trucks, was parked outside The Bottle Shop in Victorian Village for most of 2024 before moving in November to Hoof Hearted Brewery in the Short North. Chef and Ray Ray's owner James Anderson was featured on 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' in 2017, praised for his 'succulent smoked offerings' at the 'one-of-a-kind' barbecue truck. During the episode, Guy Fieri tried Ray Ray's Mangalitsa Brat Burger and St. Louis Spare Ribs. Ray Ray's new Clintonville shop will open in June. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Guy Fieri Makes His Opinion on Joe Rogan Extremely Clear

Celebrity chef and television star Guy Fieri teamed up with Joe Rogan for a recent podcast episode. Rogan's show The Joe Rogan Experience has featured thousands of guests over the years. During that time, he's developed an immense following, but has also earned his share of criticism for his personal comments and the people he chooses to platform. Fieri was featured on the program last Friday. You can watch the full episode here, but be warned, it's nearly two-and-a-half hours long. On Saturday, Fieri promoted his appearance and gave Rogan a shoutout on X/Twitter. "It was an honor and a pleasure to be a guest on JRE 2.5 hrs just flew by!! The Emmy Award-winning personality has also hosted Guy's Big Bite, Guy's Grocery Games, Guy's Family Road Trip and Guy Off The Hook, in addition to appearing on a number of other food network programs. While Fieri's entire life and career has been food-oriented, he has taken a renewed focus on his health in recent years. In May 2024, Fieri revealed in an interview with Men's Health that he shed 30 pounds through a combination of rucking and various HIIT workouts. "Unfortunately, in the [Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives] world, people like to go, 'Oh, you're the chef that eats the deep-fried pizza burgers with the ice cream toppings and all those huge, fried everythings.' My response is, 'I don't want to say that you don't know what you're talking about. But you don't know what you're talking about,'" Fieri said.
