Hunter Fieri's Fiancée Tara Bernstein Celebrates Ahead of Wedding with Pickleball-Themed Bridal Shower

Hunter Fieri and Tara Bernstein are counting down the days until their wedding. Bernstein, in particular, shared a glimpse into her recent bridal shower celebrations alongside family and friends on Instagram — which even included a sweet kiss from her soon-to-be husband. She initially shared a set of photos from the pickle-ball themed event on July 21 showing herself posing in a two-piece lace top and skirt set with different groups of celebrants. She showed a look at the long table where her closest gal pals were treated to a meal and the cake for the event, which read, 'T x H The Perfect Match.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tara Bernstein (@ Other photos showed her and Hunter holding up pickleball rackets with the words 'Tara & Hunter, Teammates for Life.' She held up the racket as her "fiancé" gave her a big smooch in front of a table filled with mini gifts. 'Best day ever with my east coast family. Felt like the luckiest bride in the world to be celebrated by the most incredible friends and family.🤍👰‍♀️✨ #2025bride #bride,' she captioned the photos. She also shared an Instagram video with Natalie Cole's song 'This Will Be' showing the event space, which included a black and white shot of her and Hunter and other rackets plastered on the walls with messages hinting at their upcoming nuptials. The couple could be seen sharing a drink and more kisses, and were even shown playing some bridal games. When sunset hit, the couple appeared to take a break out of their day to admire the view, which closed out the video. 'Every little detail…Thank you mom for the bridal shower of my dreams🤍 Pickleball, food, ocean breeze, and the people I love,' she wrote. Hunter popped the question to Tara on Thanksgiving 2023, at his father, Guy Fieri's Northern California home — the same place they plan to wed. However, some details of the planning haven't been the easiest for the couple to decide, the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host, 57, told PEOPLE in February. One of the things the couple was having trouble with was the guest list. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. 'They're both such big personalities, and they both have a lot of friends,' said Guy, who also shares son Ryder, 19, with wife Lori Fieri. 'I mean, that's the toughest thing. [How] those two [will] whittle it down to 350. I have no clue.' Despite all this, the future bride and groom are excited to walk down the aisle. In March, the pair shared a joint Instagram post in which they noted that their nuptials are just months away. "less then 6 months until I get to marry my best friend❤️," read the caption. This cuisine is rare in the Bay Area. A chef just opened a restaurant devoted to it

When Eric Rivera was in solitary confinement in the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, food kept him sane. He'd sit at a desk, alone, and pretend to be taking orders and cooking at a fantasy restaurant to pass the time. In his mind, he made the Puerto Rican dishes his mother taught him, and invented his own spins, like eggs benedict with slow-roasted pork. Now, the chef, who ran a beloved Puerto Rican food business out of an Oakland liquor store until his arrest in 2017, has started that restaurant. Puerto Rican Street Cuisine opened July 15 at 1430 23rd Ave. in Oakland with dishes including chicken encebollado and tostones, deep-fried plantains. Fans flocked to the takeout window, dancing to Puerto Rican music and hanging out on the sidewalk while they waited for their food. It sold out by the end of the day. Rivera, a native of New York, is best known for Borinquen Soul, which was born as a food truck before gaining a loyal following from inside the Two Star Market liquor store until closing in 2017, and W.E.P.A. — a nod to a Puerto Rican term for 'right on' and an acronym for Where Everybody Parties At — in Jack London Square, which was featured in an episode of Guy Fieri's Food Network TV show 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.' That same year, Rivera's rise came to an abrupt halt when he was arrested on a robbery he says he did not commit. He served nearly six years in jail, cooking for his fellow inmates and joining a hunger strike to protest poor food quality. When Rivera returned home, friends encouraged him to start cooking again. The reception to popups was 'overwhelming,' he said. Puerto Rican Street Cuisine serves staples such as pernil, empanadas filled with shredded chicken and rice topped with beans, squash and olives. Rivera said customers still ask for a dish highlighted on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives': canoa, a maximalist, loaded fried plantain filled with ground beef, peppers, onion and cheese. He plans to offer daily specials, such as fried pork chops or mofongo (mashed plantains with pork). Expect future events in the Oakland space's backyard, which is equipped with a large smoker. Puerto Rican cuisine remains underrepresented in the Bay Area. Puerto Rican Street Cuisine is now Oakland's only dedicated Puerto Rican restaurant, since the popular La Perla moved to Castro Valley last year. Two of the Bay Area's other Puerto Rican food businesses are run by Borinquen Soul alumni: Boriqua Kitchen, the region's only Puerto Rican food truck, and the vegan Casa Borinqueña, which operated in Oakland before moving to IKEA food hall Saluhall in San Francisco. Rivera hopes his current employees will launch the next wave of Puerto Rican restaurants. He also plans to teach cooking classes to local youth and says he's in talks to sell frozen foods in grocery stores. The East Oakland space will serve as a central hub, he envisions, for training cooks and opening takeout-only locations of Puerto Rican Street Cuisine throughout the Bay Area. Puerto Rican Street Cuisine is open for takeout and delivery from 3 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Milo's Deli in Franklinton to reopen after 11-year closure

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Franklinton deli is returning to the Columbus neighborhood more than 10 years after it closed. Milo's Deli is reopening later this summer at 401 W. Town St., owner Louie Pappas announced on social media. The deli is taking over the space previously home to Strongwater Food & Spirits, which closed in 2023 before being purchased by Pappas. Since then, Pappas has continued to operate Strongwater's event venue through his own catering business, Milo's Catering. Chapman's Eat Market in German Village to close after five years 'Franklinton has long been home for the Pappas family operations, and we're thrilled to be back with the reimagining of Milo's Deli,' the company's site states. The original deli opened in 1998 at 980 W. Broad St. but closed 16 years later in 2014 as the catering business continued to grow. The West Broad Street property remains under Pappas' ownership as the headquarters for Milo's Catering. Pappas is the brother of Michael Pappas, the owner of Franklinton's Tommy's Diner at 914 W. Broad St. The diner was founded more than 30 years ago by the brothers' father, Athanasios 'Tommy' Pappas, who died in December last year. Tommy's was featured earlier in 2024 on Guy Fieri's Food Network show 'Diners, Dive-ins and Dives.' What will happen to 5th Ave Floral Company's iconic neon sign in Columbus Milo's site states they're currently in the process of building out the space and menu, with an exact opening to be announced at a later date. Food Network star Guy Fieri loves Florida but sold one of his homes in Palm Beach County

Florida is a favorite of celebrity chef Guy Fieri with dozens of restaurants statewide featured on his Food Network show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." But does Palm Beach County hold a special place in the spikey blonde's heart over other Sunshine State locations? Maybe. In 2022, the Mayor of Flavortown donated donated $20,000 to Lake Worth Community High School's culinary academy. More recently, Fieri fed Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office employees from his new East Coast Disaster Relief Trailer in April. And in November his foundation joined Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar in Boca Raton to raise money for hospitality workers affected by 2024 hurricanes. Fieri has also bought and sold real estate in two Palm Beach County cities, including a sale this year of a waterfront home in Lake Worth Beach. Guy Fieri, whose birth name is Guy Ramsay Ferry, bought a waterfront home in March 2021 for a recorded $3.9 million in Lake Worth Beach, which is just south of West Palm Beach. The 7,400-square-foot home is in an exclusive seven-home gated community where one of his neighbors was Olympia Bishop, sister to actress Brook Shields. Two years after the purchase in Lake Worth Beach, Fieri bought a second home on Singer Island in Riviera Beach. The $7.3 million Mediterranean-style house is on a coveted corner lot on Singer Island in Riviera Beach less than 2 miles from the Lake Worth Inlet, also called the Palm Beach Inlet. The buyer in official Palm Beach County records on both homes was a limited liability company called Gus Ritchie 1 — a possible play on the names Gus Ferrari and Guy Ritchie, which Fieri has said fans have called him by mistake. More: Flavortown returns: Guy Fieri's 'DDD' Food Network series features 4 Palm Beach County restaurants Fieri put his Lake Worth Beach home on the market in September 2023. The list price for the 6,000-square-foot home was $8.75 million. That price was slashed several times before it sold in January for $7 million. While that's nearly double what Fieri paid for the home, it's $1.75 million less than what he hoped to get for it. The price drop wasn't unusual as the housing market has cooled from its rocket ship ascent during the pandemic. About 28% of Palm Beach County single-family homes were forced to drop prices in January 2025, according to the online brokerage firm Redfin. That increased to 30% in April.. The buyers of the 24-year-old house were Las Vegas restauranteurs Frank Bonanno and his wife, Betty Pellegrino Bonanno, according to Palm Beach County official records. Frank Bonanno is president of Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group. His first forays into the culinary industry included the 1976 creation of the Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Co., which eventually was sold to the Mrs. Fields cookie empire. Fifth Avenue operates more than 40 restaurants in the Las Vegas area, according to its website. Fieri still owns the property he purchased on Singer Island in Riviera Beach. The nearly 10,000-square-foot waterfront property has room for a 100-foot-yacht. The Singer Island home is not in a gated community but is located on the dead-end street Coral Way. It has 230 feet of water frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway and a canal. Built in 2008, it has a total of 9,870 square feet with 6,620 under air conditioning. There is a three-car garage, a large pool, summer kitchen, five bedrooms, hand-carved coral stone fireplaces and pecky cypress ceilings. More: Sneak peek inside Guy Fieri's new waterfront home on Singer Island near West Palm Beach Whether Fieri kept the furniture, which included a smothering of leather and heavy dark wood pieces, is unknown but sources familiar with the sale said at the time that the chef visited the home more than once and would likely undertake a hefty remodel. Prior to Fieri buying the home in 2023 for $7.3 million, it had last sold in June 2022 for $7.9 million. The property is not homesteaded, which is a designation that caps property tax increases if the owner registers the home as their primary residence. It's unknown if Guy Fieri plans to move to Florida permanently. He told the Bradenton Herald in 2021 that his family would stay in Northern California at least until his youngest son Ryder finishes high school. Ryder Fieri graduated high school in 2024. Guy Fieri and his wife Lori moved Ryder into his dormitory at San Diego State University in August of that year, according to People. Fieri's older son, Hunter Fieri, graduated with a master's degree in business administration from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
