Thor Rumor Has Me Nervous About Chris Hemsworth's Return In Avengers: Doomsday
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Hot on the heels of the release date of Avengers: Doomsday being marked for December 2026, another big rumor is making the rounds about the big movie coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time the chatter is all about Chris Hemsworth's Thor, and what the Russos have planned for one of the biggest OG actors in the Disney-owned franchise. If readers were psyched for the upcoming Marvel movie to hit theaters, this latest rumor from SuperHeroHype might give them pause. We've heard a lot of chatter about heroes who will fall when taking on Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom, and it looks like the God of Thunder might take a big fall when facing the supervillain. Chris Hemsworth was one of the few OG Avengers who escaped the Infinity War and Endgame unscathed, as we saw Black Widow and Iron Man die, and Captain America become far too old to keep his mantle. It's being rumored now that Marvel Studios has plans to give Thor a big send-off, and that it will happen either in Doomsday or Secret Wars. While there are no specifics as to how this will happen, one has to assume that death is on the table. Doctor Doom killing off Thor would be a major win for the villain, and an easy way for the Russos to pull on the heartstrings of longtime Marvel fans. There is no confirmation that this will happen, though it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, given how the last major Avengers movies went. The good news about Thor potentially dying in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars is that no one in the Marvel universe can stay dead forever. We could always see Chris Hemsworth's Thor return in the future through some weird resurrection twist, so if he's willing to do more movies, Thor can always live on. More On Thor A Case For Why The First Thor Movie Is Still The Best Thor Movie Even if Thor is dead, there's always a chance that Marvel could opt to do a movie set in Valhalla. The Viking afterlife was seen in Thor: Love And Thunder, and could very well be the backdrop for a future adventure in the franchise. Wouldn't it be cool to see him back in the saddle and able to team up with Jane, Heimdall, Odin, and even Loki for another adventure? Let's also remember another warrior who died in battle who might be in Valhalla: Tony Stark. Imagine if, in some way, Thor can battle his way back from the afterlife with Iron Man and take down Doctor Doom together. That said, I'm just trying to make people feel better about the very realistic scenario of Thor possibly being killed off; we may not see Chris Hemsworth do another Marvel movie after he finally hangs up the hammer. It'll be quite a bit of time before we see what happens in Avengers: Doomsday. Until then, expect to see a lot more rumors about who may be involved and what may happen, and hopefully, we can avoid some leaks that spoil the movie for everyone.

Pat McAfee's Cryptic Message Following WWE Backlash Loss Has Me Wondering What's Next
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Credit: WWE As CinemaBlend guessed in our WWE Backlash predictions, Pat McAfee could not best Gunther in a one-on-one singles match. The outcome is hardly surprising, but the follow-up reaction from the commentator certainly threw me for a loop. While I expected him to take some time off following the loss, it sounds like it could be longer than anticipated. Advertisement I'm now under the impression that I shouldn't expect to see Pat McAfee appear when I stream Monday Night Raw with a Netflix subscription. At least, that's what I'm gathering from his latest post on X. The commentator made a cryptic statement on the platform, as he talked about his path forward. It almost sounds as if he's aiming to step away from the WWE for good: Life's a book, each day being a page leading to the next, phases of life come and go like chapters. Not every character/job/idea has to appear in every chapter. Some things are perfect for the story when it's needed and then disappear as just a fond memory. A pivotal influence to get from one era to the next. Don't be scared to end a chapter and start anew. You're gonna have to do it eventually anyways. And always remember to check with the mirror every once in a while and make sure your book is one that makes you happy. And if it's not, change direction.. I think that you're allowed to do that. We have NO IDEA when the final page is being written.. with no sequels. 'Tis our only chance at this thing here. Appreciate you all so much for everything. I'm living the dumbest book of all time.. trying to figure it all aht as I go..#UpToSomethingSZN Pat McAfee is one of the biggest names in sports entertainment, with his flagship show on ESPN frequently dropping some of the biggest sports stories and interviews weekly. It should also be mentioned that he's a fixture on College GameDay as well. From the start, McAfee has been adamant about not working with WWE regularly while performing his duties will the Disney-owned network. We're still many months out from the start of college football season, though, so why does it sound like McAfee may be taking a leave of absence from the WWE? More On The WWE Penta walking to the ring in the WWE WWE's Big E Shouted Out The Awesome Penta Meme During Backlash, And I Really Hope The Viral Trend Sparks One Change Advertisement This could be because McAfee has some sort of announcement coming and, considering his post seems to extinguish the idea of him being in WWE, he may be stepping into a bigger role at ESPN. Perhaps we'll learn that he's going to be doing some special coverage of NFL games, seeing as he was a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts. Such a move would make sense, especially since McAfee's eponymous show garners a lot of buzz. The good news is the WWE has no shortage of talented commentators waiting in the wings. Corey Graves would likely be eager to return to Monday Night Raw if given the chance. Also, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett feel at home on SmackDown at the moment, but it wouldn't be unheard for anyone on the team to pull double duty. Hell, they could even pull Byron Saxton out from behind the scenes and put him back at the table! The point is that the WWE has had many commentators over the years, and, if this is the end of Pat McAfee's run in the wrestling organization, it's been a good. I wouldn't be surprised if the door is open for him to return. Should he find time between breaking stories and interviewing LeBron James about Stephen A. Smith, I would hope that McAfee would pop back in to cut it up with Michael Cole. Monday Night Raw is on Netflix on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET. We've already heard from McAfee, but what's next for Gunther now that he's shut up one of his largest critics?

'All Must Pay Tribute To The King': Jon Stewart Weighs Into Paramount-Skydance Merger & '60 Minutes' Furor
Jon Stewart has become the latest late-night host to weigh in on the possibility that Paramount Global, which owns The Daily Show, will settle President Donald Trump's $20B lawsuit against CBS News over the way that 60 Minutes edited an interview with Kamala Harris. 'What you're seeing now is all must pay tribute to the king and the price of peace is different,' Stewart said. More from Deadline 'The Daily Show's Jon Stewart Mocks Media Praising Trump For "Not Taking Cancer's Side" In Biden Statement 'The Daily Show's Jon Stewart Calls Trump The "Reverse Oprah" For Accepting Gifted Private Jet From Qatar Jon Stewart Pitches 'Shark Tank' A Chart Graphing Trump's "Not OK" Statements To Help Americans Discern When To "Not Take The Bait" Stewart discussed the issue on The Bill Simmons Podcast. 'I'm in a spot where I can do [The Daily Show on] Monday until the company is bought out by people that don't want anything to do with The Daily Show, and then who the f*ck knows what's gonna happen. I mean, look at what they're doing now at 60 Minutes and CBS News and everything else,' he added. It comes after Stewart's former colleague Stephen Colbert brought up the issue on CBS' The Late Show, highlighting 'scurrilous accusations that Paramount is engaged in corporate malfeasance'. He also compared it to Disney-owned ABC settling its own lawsuit with the President. 'This is what happens when you capitulate to an autocrat,' he said. 'Thanks to this terrible precedent, Trump thinks he can extort the media wherever and whenever they do something he doesn't like'. Paramount Global is seeking approval from the FCC for its merger with Skydance and there have been reports that CBS could settle for as much as $50M. Stewart said the situation was 'insane'. 'ABC had to pay $15M, Bezos had to pay $40M for a documentary on Melania. Zuckerberg had to pay. They just put money into the pot… what does that remind you of? It's protection money. Ultimately, at the end of this, does Trump burn our f*cking country down for insurance money? Where are we headed? 'Imagine paying $50M for fucking nothing, just to get somebody to approve a merger,' he added, calling it 'bribery'. 'Now, he'll go after Harvard and Comcast or whatever the hell else he does because a policy of appeasement always leads to more conquest,' he said. On the podcast, Stewart, who returned to The Daily Show last year one night a week, also talked about the state of late-night television and praised hosts such as Seth Meyers and John Mulaney. He said that YouTube has made a difference. 'The ratings traditionally are maybe not the same, but I would argue the reach of it is maybe bigger. It may not be monetized through advertising dollars in the way that they think makes it an efficient use of network capital, but in terms of its ability to permeate and people to see it, I think is still really, really large,' he said. He called Mulaney's Everybody's Live a 'cool thing' because it allows him to be as 'creative as like old time Letterman on a weekly basis on Netflix'. So, Stewart doesn't believe that late-night is going away that 'creativity finds a way'. 'People find a way to make topical commentary or interviewing interesting. That's always going to be something that I think will have appeal. It just may not have an appeal with 250 employees in a giant theater,' he added. Champions League in women's European soccer moves to pay-TV in 5-year deal with Disney+
HighlightsThe Women's Champions League will transition to a paywall model on Disney+ for the next five seasons, concluding a previous four-year free viewing period on streaming service DAZN and YouTube. Starting next season, the Women's Champions League will expand from 16 to 18 teams, introducing a single league standings format prior to the knockout stage, alongside the launch of a second tier Women's Europa Cup. The broadcast deal ensures all 75 matches in the newly expanded Champions League will be available to Disney+ subscribers in Europe without additional costs, while selected games will still be accessible through free-to-air networks in various countries. The Women's Champions League in European soccer will go mostly behind a paywall for the next five seasons on Disney+ in a deal announced by UEFA 's joint venture with top clubs on Friday. The final on Saturday between defending champion Barcelona and Arsenal in Lisbon completes a four-year broadcast deal where fans could watch games for free on streaming service DAZN and YouTube. The Women's Champions League is expanding next season to 18 teams from 16, in a single league standings instead of groups before the knockout stage. A second tier Women's Europa Cup also will launch. "The five-year deal will ensure that each of the 75 matches in the newly expanded (Champions League) is available to Disney+ customers in Europe at no additional cost," said UC3, the commercial partnership between UEFA and the European Club Association. Broadcasts will be produced by Disney-owned ESPN with "multilingual commentary and comprehensive pre- and post-match programming," the UC3 statement said. The broadcast strategy through 2030 will allow one game per match week to be shown on some free-to-air networks and members of the European Broadcasting Union. Selected games will be shown in countries including France, Germany and Spain, UC3 said. The value of the Disney+ and EBU deals were not revealed. UEFA has projected total "competition revenues" of 33.8 million euros ($38.4 million) next season. A 25 million euros ($28.4 million) subsidy also comes from men's competitions, including the Champions League, and UEFA is contributing more than 11 million euros ($12.5 million). That should provide a total prize money fund, once running costs are deducted, of 18.2 million euros ($20.6 million) to share among the 18 Women's Champions League teams in each of the next two seasons, UEFA has said. Teams in the Women's Europa Cup are set to share a 5.6 million euros ($6.4 million) total prize money fund. ___ AP soccer:
