T'puram: Chirayinkeezhu railway station in the district received a significant facelift with an investment of Rs 7.036 crore, bringing a host of modern amenities and passenger-friendly features. PM Narendra Modi is set to open the revamped railway station on Thursday, along with 102 other upgraded railway stations as part of Amrit Bharat Scheme . The station, which serves as a key stop for local and inter-district commuters, was upgraded as part of Indian Railways' ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experience and infrastructure across the region. The upgraded station now welcomes passengers with an aesthetically designed entrance arch that reflects both local architecture and modern design. Spacious and well-ventilated waiting halls were constructed, along with new shelters on platforms. These additions aim to improve the overall ambience and utility of the station, particularly during peak hours. To enhance accessibility, the station is now equipped with modern public information display systems. These digital boards provide real-time train schedules, platform updates and other important messages, reducing confusion and improving commuter convenience. The upgrade prioritizes inclusivity, with Divyangjan-friendly features incorporated throughout the station. These include ramps, accessible restrooms and designated seating areas for comfortable travel for persons with disabilities.
