‘Dungeons & Dragons' Is Trying a ‘Stranger Things' Collab Game Again
Fans of Eddie Munson are having a moment right now between actor Joseph Quinn launching into a marvelous blaze of glory and now a new Stranger Things collab with Dungeons & Dragons. The timing couldn't be more perfect for more Hellfire Club adventures, and this release promises enough of them to last you at least until Stranger Things season five premieres in November on Netflix. With Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club, tabletop enthusiasts can uncover Eddie's lost campaigns and 'take on challenges hotter than Hellfire—from gnarly battles with Demogorgons and Demodogs, to eerie dockside murders, and the treacherous Vale of Shadows,' as described in a press release. Touted as Eddie's final game, which was left incomplete, players can now lay the hero's last epic adventure to rest by finishing it in his honor. Take a look at the art, which depicts Eddie's final game-playing moments as game master that we didn't get to see on the show with Dustin, Lucas, Erica, Will, and Mike. This isn't the first time that D&D has tried to leverage the phenomenon of Stranger Things with an official collaboration. Six years ago, the company released an official Stranger Things starter set for the fifth edition ruleset, a self-contained adventure with special character sheets and a brief module that balanced Will Byers' own dabbling with dungeon mastering with a trip to the Upside Down. While that set leaned on offering as simplistic a take on D&D as possible, Hellfire Club looks a bit more elaborate, spinning itself less as a TTRPG adventure and more like a guided board game. The new 3-5 player board game comes with four adventures and so many details from the world of Stranger Things. You can pre-order it on D&D Beyond to nab a digital product and the Hellfire Club-emblazoned physical box for $50. There is also an Ultimate Bundle, which includes both versions of the board and materials. With the Ultimate Bundle, you can also unlock an exclusive Upside Down digital dice set, the Upside Down digital map, and a sticker pack. Big Brother 27: What is a dungeon master? Contestant Keanu Soto describes himself as one
Big Brother 27 is about to hit the screens very soon. All 16 houseguests have been revealed and their quirks unleashed. One of the contestants, Keanu Soto, a personal trainer and nutritionist from McKinney, Texas has highlighted his ability to step into different roles and narrate various stories by describing himself as a dungeon master in the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Keanu Soto said he is Big Brother 2025's dungeon master(X) "Been doing personal training for 15 years now. In that line of work, you do meet a variety of different folks," said Soto, as reported by USA Today. 'I believe that coupled up with my ability to do improv and things of that nature, I feel like gives me the tools and ability to connect with a variety of folks.' What is a dungeon master? 'Dungeon Masters (DMs) are the binding that bring every Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) game together. They bring the world to life, acting as narrator and referee whilst embodying every character the players meet. It is a DMs job to ensure that the adventure remains engaging and enjoyable for everyone involved,' describes Modular Realms. A game of Dungeons and Dragons typically starts with an heir apparent's mysterious disappearance which throws the kingdom into chaos as the royal family now quarrels over who gets to take power. In this backdrop, an ancient evil gradually begins to take form and 'begins a slow but inexorable march to the elven realms in order to complete some vile rite', as per DND Duet. In this context, a dungeon master holds wide-ranging power as they carry the ability to steer the game and narrative in whichever direction they like. As Modular Realms shares, 'Being a great Dungeon Master requires a mix of creativity, communication, adaptability, and quick thinking. Above all though, it's about having fun and sharing that experience with your friends.' Soto believes his past role as a dungeon master has helped him think quickly on his feet, a skill he plans on using as a houseguest in Big Brother 27. If you've watched Stranger Things with the kids huddled together, rolling dice and making up fantasy storylines involving terrifying monsters, mages, heroes, and fire breathing dragons – you know what Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) is. 'It is the middle point between board games and video games. Like board games, people sit around a table in person, or on a video call and talk to each other, and like a video game, there is a central story,' explains Ashwin Solanki, the community manager of Smokebomb Studios, adding, 'You can be a hero [or another character] and tell stories like The Lord of the Rings or just goof around and come up with your own.' Smokebomb Studios, a community of board game enthusiasts, is set to host the second edition of their DnD convention 'Living Chronicles' this weekend. 'There will be nine tables playing simultaneously, designed so that all the tables' actions are interconnected. This time, we've included really cool 3D printed maps on each table,' says Solanki, adding that there will be stalls by creators in the DnD community selling RPG merchandise. Bengaluru has a sizable DnD community, which, according to Solanki, grew exponentially in the pandemic and mainly interacts online. He says, 'A lot of us started playing DnD during the pandemic and found people from Bengaluru who were already playing it. That's why our first convention was in Bengaluru; the city has welcomed us with open arms.'

"Dungeons & Dragons" Live-Action Series in Works at Netflix
Yara Sameh The live-action 'Dungeons & Dragons' TV adaptation has found new life. Sources say that a new iteration of the project is currently in development at Netflix. There had previously been a 'DnD' series set up at Paramount+ with a series order, but that project ultimately did not move forward due to strategic shifts at Paramount as well as the sale of co-studio eOne by Hasbro. Hasbro Entertainment is also producing the new project. The series is currently titled 'The Forgotten Realms,' named after the famous 'DnD' campaign setting. Drew Crevello, who was previously attached as the showrunner of the Paramount+ project, will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the Netflix version. Shawn Levy will executive produce along with Dan Levine via 21 Laps under the company's overall TV deal with Netflix. 'Dungeons & Dragons' was originally created in 1974 by E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in Lake Geneva, WI. Considered one of the most influential games of all time, 'DnD' sees players create characters from a wide range of fantasy races like elves, orcs, and dwarves and take part in elaborate role playing through a wide range of settings and stories. Previous 'Dungeons & Dragons' onscreen projects include an animated TV series in the 1980s and a series of live-action movies beginning in 2000. Most recently, the well-received action-comedy 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' grossed over $205 million worldwide in 2023.
