Donnarumma demands an obstacle for Serie A return as Manchester City and Bayern circle
The contract of Gianluigi Donnarumma at PSG is due to expire next summer and a number of top clubs are eager to sign the goalkeeper but reports in Italy claim that his wage demands may prove too big a barrier for the 26-year-old to return to Serie A. Donnarumma, hot off the back of a 2024-25 season that saw him help PSG lift the Champions League trophy, has just ten months left on his currently deal with the Ligue 1 champions and appears to be as likely to leave as he is to stay. Reports from Tuttosport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, suggest that Bayern Munich and Manchester City are among the top teams coveting Donnarumma's signature but that any Italian team could face the obstacle of the goalkeeper's wage demands. PSG prepare lower wage for Donnarumma as top clubs prepared to offer more The reports suggest that PSG are not prepared to offer Donnarumma the same €12 million per season that he currently earns as a part of his contract. Instead, it is being suggested that the Parisian side will offer €8-9 million base salary with the other €3-4 million tied to individual and club performance objectives. In much the same way that the Ligue 1 side are not willing to give the Italian the base €12 million per season, most Serie A clubs will also struggle to meet this figure. Which is why, as per the reports, big clubs in the rest of Europe are currently leading the race.

Luis Enrique explains why he SLAPPED Joao Pedro in shocking bust-up after Chelsea's Club World Cup win over PSG
PSG boss Luis Enrique has explained why he slapped Joao Pedro after Chelsea's Club World Cup triumph. A mass brawl broke out following the 3-0 win, which also included clashes between goalscorers Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, and PSG's Fabian Ruiz. 5 5 5 5 Tempers flared and reached boiling point at the final whistle, with players pushing and shoving. Both managers got involved after Achraf Hakimi, Andrey Santos and Christopher Nkunku were caught up in the melee. Pedro confronted boss Enrique who reacted furiously, appearing to slap the Brazilian. PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma followed up with a push and Pedro fell to the ground. Enrique has since claimed he was trying to defuse the situation, with his opposite number Enzo Maresca actually ushering his players away. The PSG boss explained his actions, saying: 'At the end of the game there is a situation that I believe is totally avoidable by everyone. 'My goal and intention, as always, is to try to separate the players so that there are no more problems. Avoidable situation. 'There is a lot of tension, a lot, a lot of pressure and from there, there is a series of pushes by many people that I think we should all avoid and that should not happen again. 'But I repeat, my intention as always, to avoid any situation that goes further.' The incident came after PSG midfielder Joao Neves lost his cool and pulled Marc Cucurella's hair, resulting in a red card in the 85th minute.

Scuffle breaks out at end of Club World Cup final as Luis Enrique, Donnarumma confront João Pedro
EAST RUTHERFORD, N,J. (AP) — A scuffle broke out after the end of the Club World Cup final on Sunday with Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma appearing to push Chelsea forward João Pedro. Chelsea upset PSG 3-0 to win the title, scoring three first-half goals in a match that turned testy with a red card to PSG's João Neves for pulling down Marc Cucurella by his hair, along with six yellow cards. Enrique was on the field near the center circle and appeared to push João Pedro on the throat. Donnarumma pushed the 23-year-old forward, who fell over. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca moved away Donnarumma, a fellow Italian. PSG defender Achraf Hakimi had been gesturing at João Pedro and Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos. The awards presentation did not start until 30 minutes after the final whistle. ___ AP soccer:
