WWE superstar sends ominous message to new American owners ‘if they mess with our beloved Rangers'

He's been back in Glasgow for Wrestlemania recently but has left the American owners with no doubts of where he'll be if they fail BEAR IN MIND WWE superstar sends ominous message to new American owners 'if they mess with our beloved Rangers' RANGERS have finally confirmed their takeover at the hands of Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises. But the incoming Americans have been reminded what will happen if they fail to please the Ibrox support. The Ayrshire native even had a spat with fellow wrestler CM Punk back in March when his rival donned a Celtic shirt to get under his skin. And McIntyre has now responded to the businessmen from him adoptive home of America taking over the club he loves. But he was quick to shoot an ominous warning their way for what will happen if they fail to live up to expectations. Advertisement McIntyre said: "Being a Rangers fan the past decade has been non stop ups and downs. "That's life as well, peaks and valleys, keeps things interesting. "Well we've been in the valley long enough and I trust this will take us back to the peaks where Rangers belong. "And worst case scenario, I live in America and will hop a flight to San Francisco if they mess with our beloved Rangers." Advertisement Cavenagh vowed in a club statement to right the ship at Ibrox and put the club back on top. He said: "We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us by the Rangers board, shareholders, staff, and supporters. Drew McIntyre CM Punk had NO IDEA what he was getting into with Celtic top stunt in Glasgow "This club's history and traditions speak for themselves, but history doesn't win matches. "We know that the true way to honour the club's heritage will be to drive performance. WWE Saturday Night's Main Event results, grades, analysis: Cody Rhodes returns, John Cena smashes R-Truth

Cody Rhodes made his surprise return at Saturday Night's Main Event, his first appearance since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. (WWE/WWE via Getty Images) WWE's revival run of the iconic Saturday Night's Main Event show continued this weekend at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The 39th installment of the event — and third since WWE brought it back in December 2024 — featured five matches, including John Cena's latest stop in his retirement tour. The first surprise of the night came early as Bronson Reed made his return from injury to join the Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman faction. Reed took out CM Punk in his first action since suffering a broken ankle in the War Games match at Survivor Series last November. Advertisement After being added to the Saturday Night's Main Event card on Friday's episode of "SmackDown," Zelina Vega retained her Women's United States Championship against Chelsea Green, seemingly ending the latter's presence in that title picture. Cena, who retained his Undisputed WWE Championship earlier this month at WWE Backlash 2025 with the help of R-Truth, faced off against his unintentional benefactor in a non-title match. The match was brief, but entertaining, delivering exactly what was needed from it with the Cena victory. The latest chapter in the ongoing, increasingly violent rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest was also written, this time in a steel cage. Priest left Tampa victorious after an impressive match with McIntyre. It remains to be seen if this is the end of their battle, but there's undeniably chemistry between the two. Finally, in the main event of the evening, Jey Uso successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul. The match featured interference from Cena, which opened the door for the biggest return of the night: Cody Rhodes. Rhodes announced that Cena and Paul will team up against himself and Uso at Money in the Bank in two weeks. Advertisement Here are the results, grades and analysis from Saturday Night's Main Event: Jey Uso def. Logan Paul in 9:47 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship Grade: A- Best spot: Cody Rhodes' return Analysis: In my pre-show predictions, I suggested we would see Cena's next opponent set up in the aftermath of his match with R-Truth. If we're grading predictions, I think I would get partial credit. Thinking about how I wanted to grade this match, I focused more on the storyline progression than the actual in-ring action, which was solid, but was inevitably overshadowed by the return of Rhodes and the set up for the tag-team contest between him and Uso against Cena and Paul at Money in the Bank. The tease of Cena interfering earlier in the night was very well done and pairing him with Paul works very well as we build toward an inevitable rematch of the WrestleMania 41 main event. Damian Priest def. Drew McIntyre in 12:23 Grade: A Best spot: McIntyre superplexing Priest back into the ring Analysis: Despite us having seen Priest and McIntyre feuding for what feels like forever, the chemistry and talent between these two allows for everything to come across as fresh. The finish here — Priest winning with a vicious Con-Chair-To felt like the end of this program — and perhaps represented a bit of a turn for Priest in the sense that he's a bigger, more violent player moving up on the "WWE SmackDown" card. We still have four undecided Money in the Bank ladder match spots and you could make a very strong case for Priest deserving one of them and potentially becoming a two-time briefcase winner. John Cena def. R-Truth in 4:23 Grade: B+ Best spot: R-Truth's entrance Analysis: The build here was ridiculous — in a good way — and the match was exactly what it needed to be. R-Truth remains one of the most remarkably entertaining talents in WWE history and provided some genuine laugh-out-loud moments in the shortest match of the night. Cena's actions later on in the show will be what everyone is talking about rather than this match. Zelina Vega def. Chelsea Green in 5:09 to retain her Women's United States Championship Grade: C+ Best spot: Vega's avalanche Code Red Analysis: Solid — albeit brief — action here, but ultimately the biggest takeaway is that the Women's United States Championship picture needs an injection of an established, marquee-name star to elevate it similar to what Becky Lynch has done with the Women's Intercontinental Championship on 'WWE Raw.' I don't see how Green can justifiably stay involved here, which is unfortunate because she developed a persona and character that is somewhat based on being in this specific championship picture. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker def. Sami Zayn and CM Punk in 13:13 Grade: A Best spot: Breakker's flying clothesline Analysis: An excellent start to the show, all four men shined and put together the most complete match of the night. Breakker does something that makes you go 'holy &^#%' every time he steps in the ring, Zayn can work wonders with anyone, and the chemistry between Rollins and Punk is through the roof. The returning Bronson Reed is a perfect fit for the Rollins/Breakker/Paul Heyman stable, even if it's going to take a little explaining after the tsunami assault Reed previously delivered to Rollins. This faction feels significantly more dangerous heading into Monday's episode of 'WWE Raw.' Damian Priest Upsets Drew McIntyre At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

Damian Priest has reportedly been receiving high praise in WWE. (Credit:) WWE Saturday Night's Main Event may have finally marked the end of the long-running rivalry between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre. At WWE's latest installment of its NBC special, Priest beat McIntyre after demolishing him with a Con-Chair-To and waltzing out of the steel cage inside Tampa's Yuengling Center. SmackDown's two colossal stars clashed in a fantastic steel cage match that ideally will end one of WWE's lengthiest feuds. After all, if there's ever a way to end a grudge feud, it's inside a steel cage. McIntyre and Priest have battled back and forth since early 2024, first going to war over the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw before transitioning their feud over to SmackDown. Things weren't always going well, either. After Priest lost the World title and McIntyre found himself stuck in no man's land following an epic feud with CM Punk, a title-less feud with one another felt, well, kind of pointless. Even McIntyre himself expressed his unhappiness with his path to WrestleMania 41, where he topped Priest in a very good Sin City Street Fight that was one of the few highlights of WrestleMania weekend. Their match quality was never the issue, but there was an overall sense of fans being underwhelmed by their rivalry. Still, in the weeks since WrestleMania 41, McIntyre and Priest have done a good job of making their feud more interesting. Given the history between the two stars, after all, it makes sense that they have spent much of the past two years going at it, whether or not a title was involved. This is not a rivalry that fans will be talking about 10 years from now, but after Priest's decisive and somewhat surprising victory at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, both Priest and McIntyre are still strongly positioned as cornerstones of the main event picture. Perhaps most notably, Priest has been receiving widespread praise backstage in WWE for his performance during this feud with McIntyre. Even though Priest is a former world champion, this storyline has, in a way, allowed him to prove that he belongs in the upper echelon of WWE stars. As World Heavyweight Champion, Priest was clearly a placeholder champion utilized as a means to transition the title onto Gunther. But tonight, he picked up a significant victory over McIntyre, one of WWE's best all-around performers. Though Priest doesn't figure to factor into the world title picture again anytime soon, McIntyre is a strong candidate to emerge as a world title contender soon, even after a loss in Tampa. Especially with a potential WWE draft taking place soon, McIntyre is on a short list of potential world title challengers, whether that's against John Cena or Jey Uso. Given the spotlight they got at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event and the crowd reaction to their match, the logical assumption is that McIntyre and Priest are being repositioned as a top acts once again. McIntyre, after all, is making strides toward becoming WWE's next Hollywood star, so WWE would be wise to feature him prominently in the months ahead. Priest, meanwhile, just picked up one of the biggest wins of his career. Although this feud got off to a rocky start, it has done wonders for both men as they're transforming into bigger stars right before fans' eyes. At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, McIntyre may have technically lost, but truth be told, both McIntyre and Priest were winners here.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE star Drew McIntyre has confirmed he is currently competing while "working hurt" following a moment during the recent Backlash premium live event. The injury occurred during a heated Fatal 4-Way match for the United States Championship, ultimately won by Jacob Fatu. In that contest, McIntyre was in a fierce brawl with Damian Priest that extended into the crowd. The two reached a dangerous climax when Priest executed a 'South of Heaven Chokeslam' on McIntyre from an elevated platform, with McIntyre unfortunately missing the table intended to break his fall and reportedly striking his head on the floor. In a new interview with Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel, McIntyre provided an update on his physical condition. "I can't turn my head all the way left yet. Working hurt is just what happens if you're an athlete, especially as the years go by," the 39-year-old McIntyre stated. He further discussed the distinction between being hurt and truly injured. "If you're injured, it is something to take care of. Maybe back in the day, we would have taped it up and gone with it. In the past I have worked with muscle tears and breaks, which isn't the most sensible thing, but the way we operate now, you want to last for the long run." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Beyond the rigorous weekly demands of in-ring competition, McIntyre maintains a schedule busier than many of his peers. He has undertaken more media interviews than most, a practice he notably increased during the pandemic era. More This commitment to external engagement also saw him host 10 episodes of the talk show "Drew & A" on Peacock, where he conversed with a diverse array of guests, from actor Matthew McConaughey to medium John Edward. Adding to his ventures outside the squared circle, earlier this month, McIntyre was unveiled as the new spokesman for Project Rock's "You Against You" campaign, which centers on the theme of overcoming self-doubt. McIntyre brought up his comfort and proficiency in these roles to his dedicated efforts during a unique period in wrestling history. "I was doing a lot during the pandemic because I wanted to get as good as possible at this part of the job," he explained. "And now I've gotten so comfortable doing it that it's 100% fun. This isn't a job. This is my passion. I always wanted to be Peter Pan, and now I've officially grown up to be Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up who wears tights to work." John Cena's Saturday Night's Main Event Challenger Set, Steel Cage Match Added

John Cena's challenger for this month's Saturday Night's Main Event was set, and it's none other than R-Truth. During tonight's WWE SmackDown, R-Truth said he would be the one going up against Cena later this month. In an interview with Wade Barrett, Truth was asked about Cena putting him through a table after WWE Backlash. Advertisement Truth said that, for years, Cena has been someone everyone could always look up to. Truth took no credit for Cena beating Randy Orton at Backlash, and said that that wasn't Cena who put him through the table. He said the Cena that he knows wouldn't be talking about ruining wrestling. He doesn't want to fight John, though. But if he has to 'beat him back to his senses,' Truth said, he will. He'll never give up, and will continue to live by three words: hustle, loyalty, and respect. Big Steel Cage Match added to Saturday Night's Main Event Elsewhere in the show, Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre will also take to the ring. This time, though, the two feuding superstars will be in a Steel Cage. In a vignette, Priest said he's pissed off at himself for letting himself be brought down into McIntyre's 'bulls—.' Advertisement Priest said it's time for them to end the feud, and that he wants to beat McIntyre as badly as possible. The only place that kind of stuff can happen is in a Steel Cage, so that's where they'll face off. The fully updated card for the latest WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event is as follows: WWE World Heavyweight Championship : Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins John Cena vs. R-Truth Steel Cage Match: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre What do you think?
