PS5 DualSense Edge gets biggest discounts of the year so far — here's how to save $30 now
The DualSense Edge has been one of the best PS5 controllers since its release in early 2023. But there's always been one sticking point that prevents me from recommending to every PlayStation owner: The eyewatering $199 price tag. But this $30 off deal changes that. Right now, you can pick up a DualSense Edge controller for $169 at PlayStation Direct. That's a 15% saving, and the biggest discount on the ultra premium PS5 controller I've spotted so far this year. It also matches its lowest price ever, last seen during Days of Play 2025. This deal is locked behind a coupon code, so you'll need to enter 'EVO2025' at checkout to save $30. This code will be valid through August 4 and marks this weekend's EVO 2025 esports tournament. Take your PS5 gaming up a level with the DualSense Edge. The first official "pro" controller created by Sony, it's the most premium version of the DualSense, allowing you to fully customise your play experience. You tweak stick sensitivity and dead zones, and even remap each button individually. Plus, it includes adjustable back buttons. To get this deal, remember to enter coupon code "EVO2025" at checkout. The DualSense Edge is an upgraded version of the PS5's stock controller, and Sony's long-awaited answer to Microsoft's Xbox Elite controller. Its headline features are customizable back buttons, swappable stick modules and greater user options allowing you to tweak settings like stick sensitivity, dead zones, and vibration intensity. The controller also allows you to set custom profiles, so you can easily swap between settings depending on what games you're playing currently. The removable stick modules are also helpful should you encounter the dreaded stick drift. You won't need to purchase a completely new pad. Instead, you can just swap out the sticks. In our DualSense Edge review, we said, 'The DualSense Edge is a fantastic, highly customizable controller that should be easier to recommend than it actually is. If it was $50 cheaper and battery life was a little better, the DualSense Edge would be the best gamepad.' And while this $30 discount doesn't quite hit the $50 cheaper price point our reviewer wanted to see, it does get the Edge much closer to being considered good value for money. Beyond the price, its only major weakness is the poor battery life, which is worse than the standard DualSense. That's especially disappointing as the regular PS5 pad is notorious for running out of juice by the end of even a modestly long play session. Still, so long as you've got the supplied USB-C cable to hand, this issue becomes only a minor annoyance and not a dealbreaker. Nevertheless, if you're a dedicated PlayStation gamer, you'll want to consider upgrading to a DualSense Edge. If you take your online gaming seriously, it might just give you a slight advantage in a hectic firefight, which can be the difference between victory and defeat. And thanks to this limited-time deal, now is the best time to buy one.

Sony's DualSense Edge is $30 off for a limited time
If you spend a lot of time gaming on the PlayStation 5, you may want a controller that can offer more customization than the standard DualSense. The pro-style DualSense Edge is worth considering, especially now since it's currently down to $170 ($29.99 off) on the PlayStation website with the code EVO2025 through August 4th. The same code can be used on a variety of PS5 accessories, including the Pulse Elite wireless headphones. Sony's pro-style controller, the DualSense Edge, might suffer from shorter battery life than the standard DualSense model, but it features great software integration with the PlayStation 5 and plenty of customizable components. While the DualSense Edge looks and feels similar to the DualSense controller, it offers a number of notable upgrades. For starters, its deep software integration with the PS5 allows you to create up to four profiles, each offering customization for button mapping, stick sensitivity, and assigning commands to the rear buttons. You can swap between these profiles on the fly without having to leave your game. Sony makes it just as easy to swap out stick modules, too, in case one ever stops working. Additionally, the DualSense Edge features toggle switches that give you the option to shorten the pull distance of either trigger. This is great if you prefer a hair-trigger feel for shooters and other fast-paced competitive games. These features can, if you'll excuse the pun, give you an edge when playing your favorite titles. However, the controller isn't without its faults, some of which are easier to forgive considering this temporary price drop. Despite its high price, the DualSense Edge has worse battery life compared to the standard DualSense controller. In his review, The Verge's Cameron Faulkner confirmed that its battery life lasts only about eight hours on a full charge. It's a small consolation that Sony includes a lengthy USB charging cable, which also has a handy locking mechanism so it doesn't accidentally come unplugged (very handy during tournaments when disconnecting is unacceptable). With games like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Silent Hill f, and Ghost of Yōtei all on the horizon, there will be no shortage of games to use this controller with this year. And, thanks to the $30 discount, it's a good excuse to start getting used to the controller's features. Sign up for Verge Deals to get deals on products we've tested sent to your inbox weekly. PS5 Beta Update Brings Simultaneous DualSense Controller Pairing to Multiple Devices
A system update for those in the PS5 beta program will enable a new feature for the DualSense or DualSense Edge controller, allowing it to be paired with multiple devices at the same time and quickly switch between them. Beta participants will get access to the new feature on Friday. The DualSense controller can be connected to several devices via Bluetooth that aren't the PS5, including computers (PC, Mac), and mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. However, you can only connect to one of these devices at the same time. The system update removes this limitation. Currently, the PS5 beta program is limited to the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, Germany and France, but Sony plans to roll out the feature globally in the future. Connect your DualSense controller to up to 4 devices simultaneously Once the update goes live, you'll be able to pair your DualSense or DualSense Edge controller to up to four devices at the same time. Once all of the devices are paired, you'll be able to switch between them with a simple button combination. Here's how to pair your DualSense controller to multiple devices Once the update is live and the feature is enabled for you, this is how you can connect your controller to multiple devices at the same time: Make sure the light bar and player indicator on your DualSense controller is off. Press and hold the PS button for 5 seconds or more to turn them off. Press and hold one of the action buttons (circle, triangle, square or cross) until the light bar and player indicator flash twice. Turn on Bluetooth on the device you wish to connect your controller to and go to add a new Bluetooth device. Select the controller from the Bluetooth menu. The light bar and player indicator's lights will blink according to the slot number (1-4). How to switch between devices using your DualSense controller Switching between the devices you've connected your controller to is fairly straightforward once you understand the basic button configuration. Make sure the device you're trying to switch to is turned on. Hold the PS button and the action button associated with the device you're trying to switch to for 3 seconds. Once connected, the light bar and player indicator lights will flash according to the slot number. Here's an example chart of what that will look like from the Playstation Blog: Slot number Button used Player indicator lights Connected Device (Example)** Slot 1 PS button and Triangle button One light on PS5 Slot 2 PS button and Circle button Two lights on PS5 Pro Slot 3 PS button and Cross button Three lights on Windows PC Slot 4 PS button and Square button Four lights on iPhone If you have issues pairing, you'll need to make sure that your device is compatible with the DualSense controller via Bluetooth.
