Telangana Industries Min inaugurates Evergent Tech's GVC
HYDERABAD: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu formally inaugurated Global Value Centre (GVC) of California-based Evergent Technologies at Financial District here on Tuesday. The new centre will serve as a strategic hub for product development and innovation for Evergent, a leading provider of AI-powered SaaS solutions for the media, telecommunications and digital consumer industries. With over 600 engineers and AI professionals already on board, the company plans to expand its Hyderabad workforce to more than 1,000 by the end of the year. Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu stated that the primary goal of the government is to attract new industries to Telangana and generate employment for the youth. The minister said that Telangana has successfully attracted investments worth Rs 3 lakh crore over the past 18 months.

Evergent of US opens global value centre in Hyderabad with plans to hire 1,000 techies by 2025 end
HYDERABAD: California-based AI-powered SaaS solutions provider Evergent has opened its global value centre in Hyderabad. The company, which has already onboarded over 600 engineering and AI professionals in Hyderabad, plans to scale this up to over 1,000 employees by 2025 end. Inaugurating the new GVC, IT & industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Telangana is ready to contribute $1 trillion to India's economy over the next decade. Skill development in emerging technologies, TGCHE and NASSCOM ink MoU
The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) to upskill one lakh learners annually over the next three years in emerging technologies. Along with IT-ITeS sector, NASSCOM will facilitate training programmes for engineering and non-Engineering (all levels) students and faculty from universities, colleges and institutions under the aegis the TGCHE. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries and Commerce Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Friday. The collaboration aims at offering micro-learning content, foundation and deep-skilling courses (both free and paid), and a specialised offline course in 'embedded software development and testing' to build critical digital capability. Mr. Sridhar Babu emphasised the government's role in the growth of Information Technology and Communications (IT&C) sector and to making Hyderabad a 'skill capital.' He said: 'The vision is to empower every graduate with industry-relevant skills.' He also emphasised the ITIs would be transformed into Advanced Training Centres (ATC) providing 100% jobs to all students. TGCHE Chairman, V. Balakista Reddy, highlighted the recent initiatives taken to align higher education with industry demands through comprehensive curriculum reforms at the undergraduate level, ensuring every student is exposed to technology-driven courses in emerging domains. As part of the MoU, TGCHE will encourage universities and colleges to build internal talent pools by motivating students to complete certifications aligning with industry demands. Certified learners will be connected to potential employers via Skill Sector Council (SSC) NASSCOM's Talent Connect, an employment-enabling platform that supports students' transition from learning to earning. CEO, IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council (NASSCOM) Abhilasha Gaur highlighted the contributions made towards the development of the IT industry in India. She outlined the initiatives undertaken by the Council to strengthen skill development across the sector.

Minister's pep talk motivates inmates at Cherlapally
Hyderabad: IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Sunday said that the Telangana Government was committed to reforming inmates into responsible citizens before the completion of their sentences. The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Annual Prisoners' Sports and Cultural Meet–2025, organized by the Prisons Department at Cherlapally Central Jail on Sunday. He emphasised that the progressive reforms introduced by the Telangana Prisons Department, in alignment with evolving societal needs, have become a benchmark for other states. Recognising that many inmates were serving sentences for offenses committed knowingly or unknowingly, the government was focusing on instilling self-confidence by providing vocational training and skill development in various trades. To address mental health challenges, professional counseling services were also being offered. He noted that the products made by inmates are in high demand, and the government would continue to support and encourage such initiatives. The Minister underscored that imprisonment was never a desired path for anyone and advised inmates to lead dignified lives after release, refraining from repeating past mistakes. He assured that the government would extend support to well-behaved inmates wherever possible. He encouraged inmates not to be disheartened during their imprisonment and to make productive use of their time by pursuing training in fields of interest. Those aspiring for higher education will receive necessary support from the Prisons Department in accordance with existing guidelines. The event was also attended by MLC Mahender Reddy, Director General of Prisons Soumya Mishra and other senior officials.

Govt. conducts meeting, reviews arrangements for Saraswati Pushkaralu
With lakhs of devotees expected to participate in the 'Saraswati Nadi Pushkaralu-2025' scheduled to be organised from May 15 to 26, the Telangana government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth and grand celebrations by providing all the required amenities with a special focus on hygiene and crowd control measures. The event is held at Triveni Sangamam, where the Godavari and Pranahita rivers converge, while the Saraswati is described as invisible. As part of it, the State government conducted a high-level review meeting led by Endowments Minister Konda Surekha here on Tuesday. IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu attended the meeting. 'No devotee should face any difficulty. All arrangements will be of the highest standard, reflecting our respect for cultural traditions and public welfare,' Minister Surekha said, adding that the government aims to make the Saraswati Pushkaralu not just a religious celebration but a memorable and seamless experience for every pilgrim. Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Collector Rahul Sharma was instructed to complete all necessary arrangements well in advance. The 12-day Pushkaralu festival will formally begin on May 15 at 10:35 p.m., coinciding with Jupiter's entry into Mithuna Rashi, marking a rare and auspicious period for holy dips in the Saraswati tributary of the Godavari River. According to officials, bathing ghats are being expanded and new ones added. Permanent toilets, drinking water stations and waste management systems are being set up. Additional TSRTC buses will be deployed under the free travel scheme to ease pilgrim movement. Special attention is being given to crowd control and emergency readiness. First-aid centres, on-site medical teams, and special care zones for children, pregnant women and senior citizens are being arranged to avoid inconvenience. A dedicated Pushkaralu portal and mobile app which has already been launched by the Ministers, will provide pilgrims with live updates, maps of ghats, emergency contact details and other important information. A toll-free helpline is also operational for public assistance. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, DGP Jitender, Endowments Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer and other senior officials attended the meeting.
