'People are writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with Kaizer Chiefs'
Former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic has set the record straight that he never spoke to Kaizer Chiefs. The experienced forward is a free agent since leaving the Rockets last season. He was linked to Amakhosi in recent weeks, but he has since made it clear that the Soweto giants never approached him. He did reveal that two clubs made contact with him but none of those clubs is Kaizer Chiefs. 'Two clubs made contact, but I was not happy with the proposals about a month ago,' Zajmovic told 'It was not even one of the big three clubs in South Africa. Okay with regards to Kaizer Chiefs, they never contacted me. I have seen people writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with them but nothing like that has happened. 'All the things on the internet about me and Chiefs are not true because they have never contacted me. What I know is that I have shown myself in a good way but maybe it is not good enough for some clubs,' he continued. 'You never know who decides in the clubs and they go for what they like. With regards to where I would go next, I prefer respect and being valued. Maybe I will go to Asia. I'm fit. 'In South Africa, I would have liked to go to one of the Big Three because I have already adapted. If it is another club outside the big three and they show that they really want and value me then I will take that offer,' Zajmovic added. 'It is strange that the top three clubs didn't contact me despite the numbers that I had in South Africa because I feel I did well.' Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan said on Soccer beat that Zajmovic was more suited for Amakhosi. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Dzenan Zajmovic rubbishes transfer rumours after ‘no contact' with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns
Belgian forward Dzenan Zajmovic has denied transfer rumours involving Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, or Mamelodi Sundowns, stating he has had no contact with these clubs and is open to opportunities in Asia or South Africa. Picture: Brian Rikhotso/BackpagePix Image: rian Rikhotso/BackpagePix Despite rumours that Kaizer Chiefs were interested in signing Belgian forward Dzenan Zajmovic, the player himself has refuted these claims. The 30-year-old, who joined TS Galaxy at the beginning of 2024, said he had not been in contact with any of the 'big-three' clubs in South Africa. Presumably, Zajmovic was referring to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Lepasa and Zajmovic
Kaizer Chiefs are urged to sign either Zakhele Lepasa or Dzenan Zajmovic before the duo are snatched up by another team. Amakhosi have only signed one striker this transfer window, which is Flavio da Silva. The 29-year-old has not found the net yet, but looked promising this past weekend against Asante Kotoko. Speaking on Soccer Bea t, former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach said Nasreddine Nabi would need to assess what he wants before signing Lepasa. 'First thing I will ask you is what is the coach's game model? what is his technical approach? Because we've seen in the past, they wanted a big guy upfront, they signed Chivaviro and it didn't work out.' 'If you look at Lepasa, he is more of a false 9 guy, coming deep, getting the ball and making space, but in the 63 games he played, he only scored 16 goals and made two assists. Okay, he was injured for a time last season, but we know Hugo Broos saw the quality in him (Lepasa), that's why he chose him for Bafana,' said the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach. Former Bafana Bafana left-back felt Lepasa might not be a good Amakhosi based on his fitness. 'My worry with Lepasa is that he hasn't played football in a while and we don't know how long it will take for him to get back into the groove,' he said. 'He is available for free if they can get a deal done. We are not seeing much of Ashley (Du Preez), or (Tashreeq) Morris, so we need three or four upfront,' Masilela said. The former Bafana Bafana left-back encouraged Kaizer Chiefs to sign Dzenan Zajmovic ahead of Lepasa. He has good touches, has football brains and he can link up play, drop and play in spaces. That's what I like, he is more involved, he is not just a guy waiting to score goals,' he added. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Are Kaizer Chiefs flirting with another FREE AGENT?
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly looking at the idea of signing Bosnian striker Dzenan Zajmovic. The experienced striker scored eight goals for the Rockets last season and has since been without a club. North African teams are interested in his services, but the 30-year-old is eyeing a PSL return as he is fond of the country Speaking to KickOff , Zajmovic revealed that two PSL teams have contacted him recently, but did not disclose the names. 'Two clubs have already contacted from the PSL. South Africa is a nice country with a good league, and I would love to continue playing there at a new club,' Zajmovic told KickOff . Soccer Laduma reported on Wednesday that Kaizer Chiefs were looking at bringing another striker with Zajmovic being an option. 'I can tell you he is one of the strikers the club is currently looking at. Yes, he was not on the list at first but soon after TS Galaxy let him go, then it's believed the scouts and recruiters started looking at him together with analysts. All is good and he is on the team's radar for wanted strikers with talks believed to be going on and looking positive. A move is on the cards and it could happen,' the source told the publication. Kaizer Chiefs have already signed Flavio Silva but are still looking to bring an extra striker in case the Portuguese forward fails to deliver. Experienced PSL striker won't join Pirates but could sign for Kaizer Chiefs for free
Former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic could be an option for Kaizer Chiefs, with Orlando Pirates reportedly not interested. The experienced striker scored eight goals for the Rockets last season and has since been without a club. North African teams are interested in his services, but the Bosnian forward wants to return to the PSL. Speaking to KickOff , Zajmovic revealed that two PSL teams have contacted him recently but did not disclose the names. 'Two clubs have already contacted from the PSL. South Africa is a nice country with a good league, and I would love to continue playing there at a new club,' Zajmovic told KickOff . 'I felt at home and will never shut a door for anything to do with South Africa, and my wife and kids know about it. It was an amazing experience being in South Africa. Soccer Laduma reported that Pirates were not keen to sign the 30-year-old striker, leaving Kaizer Chiefs as one of the potential clubs. 'Right now, Pirates is not a likely destination,' a reliable source told the publication. 'There have been rumours, but nothing solid. What's more likely is a move to North Africa, possibly Algeria, where there is interest – and the chance to work again under Sead Ramovic could be part of the equation,' the source added. Kaizer Chiefs signed striker Flavio Silva earlier this month, however, the Portuguese forward is yet to fire. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
