Nissan Magnite Gets CNG Kit; Prices Start At Rs. 6.89 Lakh
The Nissan Magnite now gets a CNG kit which can be retro-fitted at dealerships. The CNG Kit is fully developed, manufactured by Motozen, a third-party company, as per regulations of the company. Motozen will provide warranty for the CNG kit components. The complete retro-fitting will be done at a price of Rs. 75,000. The CNG kit option is available only with the new Nissan Magnite 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with the manual gearbox. The turbo models will not get CNG option, at least at the moment. Sources suggest that the CNG kit will offer 24 km per kg in the city and 30 km per kg on the highway. The price of the CNG kit includes a fire extinguisher, third-party warranty, RC endorsement and installation charges. In the first phase, Nissan customers can order the CNG kit installation via Nissan authorised dealerships in seven states, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka. It will later be expanded to other states across the country as part of Phase 2. Now, existing owners will not be able to retro-fit the CNG kit, because the new Magnite is now E20 compliant and CNG-ready, while the older models are not. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India The CNG kit will be fitted at the dealership and the Magnite will have a 12-kg single-cylinder for the same. The cylinder will have a 7 mm wall along with an auto cut-off valve. The company also says that the bootspace will not be overly compromised and the suspension will be able to take the extra load of the CNG cylinder. The SUV will be able to accommodate two suitcases and two small bags. The CNG kit is of course government certified and Nissan along with Motozen will offer a 3-year and 1 lakh km warranty on the Nissan CNG. The official fuel efficiency figures for the Nissan Magnite CNG will be revealed in the coming weeks. Nissan is also in place to cross the 200,000 sales mark for the Magnite in India by the end of the month.

Controversial EastEnders icon stages chaotic return with huge consequences
Shamed Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) stages a shock return to EastEnders next week, spelling more trouble for the Beales and Knight families. The controversial E20 icon left Walford in disgrace during the BBC soap's 40th anniversary in February, following a huge showdown with ex-husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and his mother Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth). During the explosive week of episodes, fans saw Cindy uncover that it was her ex-mother-in-law who had attacked her and left her for dead after her affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was exposed at Christmas. In her bid for revenge, Cindy shot Ian before pushing him in front of Reiss Colwell's (Jonny Freeman) speeding car. This caused the twisted killer to swerve and crash into the Queen Vic, sparking an explosion that resulted in Martin Fowler's (James Bye) death. In the aftermath, Cindy eventually agreed not to shop Kathy to the police, and told the rest of the Knight-Beale clan that she was leaving to stay with her best friend Gita – but it was clear she was biding her time for retribution. In recent weeks, Cindy's son Peter Beale (Thomas Law) learned she had gone AWOL from Gita's, but his fiancée Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) is set to get an unwelcome surprise in forthcoming scenes when Cindy makes a reappearance at their engagement party. As the day of the event arrives, heavily-pregnant Lauren is worried following her final midwife check-up when potential complications are discussed, and fumes when distracted Peter leaves to take a call. She tries to put things to the back of her mind as she and Peter later celebrate with family and friends at Harry's Barn, but their happiness is short-lived when Cindy unexpectedly joins the party. Peter attempts to defuse the situation, but Lauren leaves and issues him an ultimatum – it's her or Cindy. Meanwhile, the rest of the Beales and Knights shun Cindy once again, but she retaliates by revealing all about Kathy attacking her. With her secret exposed, could Kathy be looking at a stretch behind bars? Cindy's tour of terror does not end there, though, as she soon heads to No.29A to face off with Lauren. However, Cindy is shocked when she arrives to find her rival in labour – will she be able to put aside their differences to help safely deliver her grandchild? 'Cindy comes back wanting to make amends, and wanting to get back with her family, but I think what she doesn't realise is that people have not forgotten and they're not going to forgive her that easily', star Michelle Collins explained. 'It's going to take a long time, and Cindy gets a bit of a shock when she comes back from how people react to her.' More Trending 'What Cindy has been through in her life has had a huge effect on her and she reacts in very different ways to other people. She believes in fighting for her cause, and she will not back down. She added: 'Even if somebody were to say to Cindy, 'I don't like you' she would think she would be able to change their minds. She also has unconditional love for her kids. Granted, she may not be the perfect mum, but she is still their mum and she has fought for her kids a lot over the years.' Kirsty Wark to receive prestigious Bafta fellowship
Presenter and journalist Kirsty Wark is to receive the Bafta fellowship, the British Academy's highest honour. The award recognises industry figures who have made an outstanding contribution to film, television or games. Wark, who presented BBC's Newsnight programme for 30 years until leaving last July, said: "This is a wonderful surprise and a great honour. Television has been my home for 40 years... I continue to learn every day from people with awe-inspiring skills who have become treasured colleagues and dear friends." The news comes after it was revealed that EastEnders has been named recipient of the 2025 Bafta TV craft special award for its commitment to taking on and nurturing new talent off-screen. The BBC One soap was praised for its work on nurturing upcoming directors from under-represented groups, and offering writing and acting opportunities on its spin-off show, E20, which ran for three series. Scottish broadcaster Wark finds herself in good company among previous fellowship recipients, including Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Vanessa Redgrave, Martin Scorsese, Sidney Poitier and Dame Helen Mirren. The most recent winners are actor and presenter Warwick Davis and composer Yoko Shimomura. Jane Millichip, CEO of Bafta, said: "Kirsty's dedication is unwavering when it comes to telling the stories that really matter." She praised Wark's legacy, adding it is "unmatched in the world of news and current affairs broadcasting", along with her "ability to inform and engage her readers, listeners and viewers". "She does all this with enormous charm and wit," she added. Wark was described as a "legend of British journalism" by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair during her final Newsnight show in July 2024, while former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon told her: "To say you are a broadcasting titan... would be an understatement. It's hard to imagine that landscape without you." Wark spent more than 30 years presenting the long-running politics show but has remained working at the BBC, continuing to present Radio 4's The Reunion, Start the Week and Front Row on Radio 4. In September, she presented a Panorama special on the menopause industry, while last month, she fronted a two-part documentary on Scottish fashion called Icons of Style. She's also been working on her third novel. Wark joined the BBC as a graduate researcher in 1976 for BBC Radio Scotland, going on to become a producer in radio current affairs. After a spell on Radio 4's The World At One, she moved to television in 1983. She worked as a producer on Reporting Scotland. She was one of the first television journalists to arrive on the scene when Pan Am Flight 103 was blown up above Lockerbie in 1988. Two years later, she famously locked horns with Margaret Thatcher in a headline-making interview which propelled her into the national spotlight. She joined BBC Two's arts strand The Late Show as a presenter and then moved on to Newsnight in 1993. Her many famous interviewees over the years include George Clooney, ex-US president Bill Clinton, Damien Hirst, Madonna and Harold Pinter. Wark will collect the award at this year's Bafta TV Awards in London on 11 May.
