Days of Our Lives Recap: Marlena Collapses in Court originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Marlena and John's Penthouse: Brady tells Marlena and Belle about the quick labor and adoption in Chicago. Marlena asks about Tate and tells them about him rescuing Holly and Arianna Grace followed by the quick adoption. Brady thinks Sophia was right but feels for Tate. Just then, Rachel emerges from the bedroom and she and Brady head over to the DiMera mansion. Belle and Marlena worry about Rachel testifying at Johnny's trial. EJ arrives for Marlena to hypnotize him. He thanks her for the assistance, but she says she isn't doing it for him. EJ agrees they have the same goal of helping Johnny. If it doesn't work, Belle and EJ will fight it out in court. Marlena returns to start hypnosis and catches EJ and Belle kissing. Marlena dismisses her daughter and the two get started. EJ remembers talking to someone and asks why that person gave him something, but he can't see their face. He gets agitated and Marlena brings him out of the hypnotic state. When he's awake, he says he can't remember who he saw and worries it's because it was Johnny. Marlena thinks his mind is still protecting him and says she's willing to continue their sessions. Brady Pub: Abe finishes a call with Theo before sitting down with Paulina. She's overwhelmed by being called to the stand at Johnny's trial. He notes she now believes in Johnny's innocence, which makes her even more nervous about possibly sending him to prison. She also worries about Chanel as a suspect in the same crime. They talk about the video on the memory card and Abe recalls Chanel saying she never said what was on the video (could it be an AI alteration?). Paulina wants to change the topic and asks about Theo. Abe says he's not doing well. Paulina asks what's wrong with Theo and Abe says he and Claire Bear broke up. Paulina thought they were in it for the long haul as did Abe (Could we please see Theo and Claire Bear soon?). Paulina assures her beloved his son will find love. Paulina asks Abe what Johnny's chances are. Abe says the evidence is circumstantial but it's still a crap shoot. The only thing they can be assured of is EJ fighting is hardest to exonerate his son. DiMera Mansion: Gwen arrives with her bags and is annoyed no one is there to help her. Just then, Brady and Rachel walk in. Rachel wonders what Gwen is doing there and she says she is moving in. Rachel heads upstairs leaving Gwen to ask why Rachel is staying with Brady. He explains she's staying with him during the course of the trial. Rachel returns and Gwen exits to the Salem Inn. For some reason, Rachel is dying to get out of the house as soon as possible. Brady asks Rachel what is wrong, and she says she is looking at where Johnny was standing with the gun. He thinks she is very brave for telling her story to Aunt Belle. She worries about having to take the stand as she doesn't want to send Johnny to prison. Chanel and Johnny's Place: Chanel helps Johnny get ready for his day in court. She asks how he is feeling, and he tears up saying he's scared. They review the evidence that will be used against him, but Chanel says all of Salem wanted to plug his father. Johnny worries he's going to be convicted despite there not being proof. Chanel thinks Johnny will be acquitted but knows Belle will come after her next because of the video from the memory card. Horton Square: Belle takes a call from Claire Bear who is upset about breaking up with Theo. She runs into Paulina and Abe and they discuss a bit about the kids' breakup. Courtroom: Belle sits at her table. She calls EJ not sure where he is and wonders if something happened during hypnosis. Days of Our Lives Recap: Gabi and Toni Make a Deal About The Control of DiMera Enterprises Endings EJ arrives in court and updates Belle on the hypnosis. While he was under, he remembered asking someone to hand him the gun. Marlena thinks it's possible his mind is still protecting him from something traumatic. Outside the courtroom, Marlena hugs Johnny and promises to provide her love and support. EJ pops his head out and says it's time for Johnny to enter. The judge arrives and calls the court to order and brings the jury in. Marlena and Abe walk in. As they try to take a seat, Marlena passes out into Abe's arms. Brady and Rachel arrive back at Grandma Marlena's and she is depressed to learn her grandmother isn't around. Rachel is thrilled to learn she and her dad are headed to a movie and runs to her room to put her stuff away. Just then, Belle calls and says their mother collapsed in court. Gwen packs up all her things and remembers putting the necklace in the safe. When she opens it up, the necklace is gone. Belle crouches next to her mother and begs her to wake up. Johnny's trial resumes; Marlena collapses This comes at a time when his son Johnny is on trial in connection with the shooting. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Stephanie's Pad: Stephanie is working away when Alex notices how stressed she is about her pitch to EJ. They chat, once again, about her erotic novel project and how worried she is she'll be discovered. Alex, once again, says he's done everything he can to ensure her anonymity. Alex wants to use a particular line about 'forbidden love' in a blurb for the book but she freaks out and says no and also wants it taken out of the manuscript (to whom is that line attributed?). He agrees before she exits. Alex calls Kate and says the author doesn't want to use the excerpt she chose. He hangs up and there's a knock on the door. He finds no one there but there is a package addressed to Stephanie. University Hospital – Kayla's Office: EJ arrives just as Kayla hangs up with Bo. They immediately snark back and forth. EJ wants an office at the hospital but Kayla thinks they are short on space. EJ says it's all good as he'll just take hers. Kayla suggests sprucing up a utility closet near the morgue. She says he may own the hospital, but she runs it. EJ says she used to run it. They argue about his newly implemented budget when she tells EJ to either give her autonomy to run the hospital or she's done. EJ avoids the ultimatum and asks to use Kayla's office for his upcoming meeting with Stephanie. University Hospital – Lobby: Javi is telling Sarah about Holly and Arianna Grace's kidnapping and rescue. Sarah recalls when Victoria was kidnapped and then asks about Little T. She thinks it's clear how much he and Leo love that little boy. Javi admits he is dreading the day they have to give him up. Sarah recalls bonding with a child (Rachel) who she had to give up. She gets a little teary eyed and Javi gets all kinds of apologetic. Sarah says it's not about him as she is simply missing her daughter. Sarah calls Xander and screams at him about keeping Victoria from her. She hangs up just as Kayla arrives to ask what's wrong and give her a supportive hug. Chicago: Sophia is freaking out about all the lies she's telling but Melinda says she'll be able to see it through. Just then, Tate calls again but she ignores it. Melinda says they should stick to the plan so Tate will never know the baby left at the fire station is theirs. She says it's time for them to head back to Salem to deal with Tate and her mother. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Tate runs in telling Brady Sophia is in labor. He talks a mile a minute about Holly and Arianna Grace which stuns Brady. He wants to go to Chicago, but Brady stops him and says he will drive his son. Tate says he keeps calling Sophia and has no clue where she is in the city. Just then, Sophia calls and says she's on her way home as she already had the baby. She lies saying they had a daughter. They hang up and he tells Brady about his daughter. He wonders why Sophia didn't wait for him to meet with the couple in Chicago. Brady defends her saying she wanted to get on with his life much like Tate should. Tate thinks he will always wonder about his daughter and hoping she's having a good life. He gets all teary-eyed when he thinks about having a child who he will never know. Brady promises to support his son every step of the way and they embrace. Hernandez House: Leo holds the baby whilst talking to Chad about being a juror for Johnny's trial. They quickly hang up and he wonders aloud if Johnny is guilty. Javi arrives home and updates Leo on Arianna Grace and Holly. Leo asks about young Douglas and Javi asks if he had any idea the loan sharks would go after Arianna and Holly. Leo says he had no idea young Douglas and Arianna Grace even knew each other. Javi believes him but doesn't understand why he would help a perfect stranger. Leo says he sees himself in Doug and wanted to support him the way John and Marlena did him. He says Javi has changed him for the better and is an open book with him the same way Javi is with him (or is he…). Leo has to leave and gives Javi all kinds of directions about watching Little T. University Hospital – Kayla's Office: Stephanie arrives and is surprised to find EJ in her mother's chair. Stephanie says she is on board to take on the hospital as a client but won't do so unless he accepts all of her terms. She says she won't do anything to undermine her mother and EJ agrees. Next, Stephanie insists there will be no lying, cheating nor stealing on behalf of him or the hospital and EJ agrees. He asks if they have a deal and Stephanie agrees. Just then, Kayla walks in and wonders what the hell is going on. She's furious Stephanie didn't take her advice and accepted the job with EJ. With that, Stephanie exits. Kayla orders EJ not to corrupt her daughter. EJ says he hired her because of her skill as a publicist. Kayla wants to belabor the point but EJ makes his exit. Horton Square: Leo and EJ run into one another. Days of Our Lives Recap: Holly and Arianna Are Rescued Endings Leo reminds EJ they shouldn't be talking. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Belle arrives to see EJ with the memory card but says what's on it doesn't fully clear Johnny. They watch the footage from the memory card and EJ pretends to be surprised. He says he doesn't remember any of it but thinks the evidence is damning. Belle says Jada is questioning her right that very minute. EJ says he would do anything to save Johnny but not this way. He worries what would happen to his son's marriage if it were proven his wife tried to murder his father. They take a seat as Belle remembers how angry Chanel was when the adoption fell through. EJ says desperate people commit desperate acts. Salem PD – Jada's Office: Paulina can't believe Chanel threatened EJ's life. Jada says she has no choice but to bring Chanel in for questioning. Paulina asks what else is on the video and Jada says what she saw is where it cuts off. Paulina notes there was no gun and knows Chanel couldn't ever shoot EJ. She goes on to explain her daughter was with her that night, at least most of it. Jada says for that reason and many more she has to pull Chanel in. Paulina asks if she can call Chanel and then promises to step back and Jada agrees. Salem PD – Lobby: Johnny and Chanel embrace when she tells him about the video from the night of the shooting. She says she doesn't remember saying anything Jada says she did. Paulina says she saw the video and it is what it is. That being said, she knows Chanel didn't shoot EJ. Just then, Jada walks out and Johnny demands to see the video but she declines. Horton Square: Johnny and Chanel discuss EJ defending her. He thinks no jury would think a victim of a crime would defend someone who they believe is guilty. Johnny needs to get back to work and they agree to meet up later. Just then, Chanel gets a call from her mother saying she needs her to come down to the station and to bring Johnny with her. Kiriakis Mansion: Maggie fields a call from Melissa. She tells Sarah she had a work emergency and will be able to go on their trip to Bermuda (It would be great to see Melissa!). Sarah suggests they plan a trip with all the girls. Maggie agrees but also thinks she and Sarah should take the trip she had planned with Melissa. Sarah is thrilled about the idea but says she can't take Victoria out of the country without clearing it with Xander. Xander returns and says the nanny is packing up Victoria's things. Maggie tells him to stop escalating the situation. She laughs when he refers to himself as the most stable parent who needs to take the lead. Further, Sarah will regret fighting him. Titan/DiMera: Xander can't believe Philip suggested he quit. They both agree they don't like their current arrangement and have to figure out to play the hand they've been dealt. Philip decides it's a good time to bring up how differently Victor treated them and actually refers to his brother as just another bastard. Xander is rightfully upset and tells his brother to get out. Just then, Sarah arrives. Philip tries to smooth out the conversation she heard and quickly makes his exit. Sarah asks Xander about possibly taking Victoria on the trip with Maggie, but he immediately shuts it down. She explains they will only be gone for a week and he's being unreasonable. Xander reminds Sarah that Maggie has enough resources to allow her, and Victoria disappear forever. Sarah thinks he's being ridiculous, but Xander says he'll have her arrested if she goes. Sarah says she hates him with every fiber of her being. With that she exits and Xander quickly follows. Salem PD - Lobby: Johnny and Chanel arrive. Paulina says Jada wants to question her but shouldn't do so without a lawyer present. The couple wonder what's going on and Chanel agrees to answer questions without a lawyer present (why?). With that, she exits with Jada. Paulina tells Johnny about the footage from the memory card and how bad it looks. Johnny says there's no way Chanel would ever shoot his father. He wants to go into the interrogation room and says he will confess if it means saving Chanel. She stops him and Johnny says he would do anything to save Chanel even though he didn't shoot his father. For the first time, Paulina seems to believe what he is saying but he can't let him confess to a crime he didn't commit. Johnny says they need to find out who actually pulled the trigger for everyone's sake. Salem PD – Interrogation Room: Jada tells Chanel about the video from the memory stick. She says she always admitted she spoke with EJ that night and admits it was contentious. Jada says it was more than contentious as Chanel threatened EJ's life. She knows she left the mansion afterwards but asks if she later returned and made good on her threat. Chanel can't believe Jada thinks she would shoot anyone. Jada understands her shock but says she's talking to her as the police commissioner and not her friend. Chanel says she never went back to EJ's house and certainly didn't shoot him. Jada recounts Chanel's words from the memory stick and she admits she was angry with EJ because of the suffering he caused Johnny and his role in them losing their baby. However, she doesn't remember saying those words. Even if she did, she didn't follow through. She freaks out thinking they are going to arrest her. Jada says Chanel isn't being arrested but it does move her up the suspect list. Chanel can't believe she will once again be accused of a crime she didn't commit. Jada promises she will be treated fairly but advises her to talk to Justin soon. With that, Chanel exits. Brady Pub: Sarah sits down at Philip's table and says she needs his help to take down her husband. Philip wonders how and Sarah says he needs to admit Xander attacked him. Philip says he didn't, but Sarah still doesn't believe him. Sarah says she can talk to her mother and Stephanie and get them to swear they will never tell anyone about his and Vivian's fraud. She wonders if Philip will agree to help her if she can guarantee the fraud won't be exposed. Sarah tempts him more by saying, if Xander goes down, he would be able to run Titan/DiMera all by himself. Kiriakis Mansion: A furious Xander arrives and accuses Maggie of trying to help Sarah run off with Victoria. He wants to take Victoria right then and there, but Maggie wants him to come to his senses. She explains about what happened with Melissa, but Xander doesn't believe her. He goes upstairs to collect his daughter as Maggie grabs her phone to make a call. Days of Our Lives Recap: EJ Sets Up Chanel Endings Maggie tells Xander that Victor would be rolling over in his grave if he knew his son was trying to rip his granddaughter out of the mansion. Xander gets all kinds of disrespectful and Maggie realizes he's feeling unloved and unwanted. She begs him not to return to who he used to be – the man who would rip Victoria from her mother's arms. Xander leans in and says he is the monster his father made. She says she's calling the police but Xander says he has just as much right to his daughter as Sarah. Belle tells EJ she needs to head back to work. He does his best to distract her with a trip upstairs to the bedroom. She giggles and the two kiss and head upstairs. Philip is tempted by Sarah's plan but thinks there are too many folks who could back out. Sarah doubles down saying she can make the plan work, and he deserves justice. All he has to do is tell the truth. Philip takes a breath and says he can't help her. Xander, Chanel and Paulina arrive in Horton Square and discuss the case. Just then, Paulina gets a text from Justin saying he's in court and will check his schedule to see if he can represent Chanel.
