Human survival depends on trees: Minister Savita
Poranki (Krishna district): Minister for BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles S Savita emphasised that human survival is only possible with trees. She announced that as part of the Harithandhra Pradesh initiative, one crore saplings are being planted across the State, with a target to achieve 50 per cent green cover by 2047. The Minister stressed that everyone is responsible for protecting the planted saplings and warned of strict action against those who remove trees. Minister Savita planted saplings here and led locals in a pledge to commit to environmental protection and increasing greenery. She highlighted that environmental protection must start from every home. She called upon everyone to avoid plastic use and plant trees, emphasizing that human survival is only possible with green trees. She stated that the coalition government has decided to prioritize the creation of Green Andhra Pradesh and environmental protection by significantly increasing green cover in the state. She mentioned that development is progressing rapidly in the state, with work on the capital Amaravati and the Polavaram project already underway. Simultaneously, high priority is being given to increasing green cover. Minister Savita warned that strict action will be taken against those who remove trees along roadsides and canal banks. She emphasized that tree planting is everyone's responsibility and called upon everyone to come forward to plant trees in front of every house and for auspicious occasions. Savita highlighted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan are giving high priority to tree planting, which provides oxygen to humans and maintains environmental balance. In contrast, she criticised former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, stating that he acted in opposition to this. She expressed anger, alleging that Jagan, when traveling by air outside his palace, had ordered the removal of trees along roads. Earlier, coalition leaders and workers accorded a grand welcome to Minister Savita upon her arrival in Poranki for the Vana Mahotsavam. Corporation chairmen Veeranki Gurumurthy and Eshwar, along with several TDP leaders, participated in the programme.

Remaining nominated posts to be filled soon: Savitha
Puttaparthi: Minister for BC and EWS Welfare S Savitha announced that all remaining nominated posts in the State will be filled soon. She also assured that every TDP activist, who toiled for the party's development, will be duly recognised. Speaking at district-level Mahanadu held in Puttaparthi on Saturday, Savitha revealed that a decision regarding withdrawal of illegal cases filed against TDP leaders and activists by the previous government will also be taken credited former CM NT Rama Rao with bringing marginalised communities into the political mainstream and stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, the TDP has grown even stronger. She said that no other party in the country has a dedicated cadre base like the TDP. The Minister praised that Naidu and Lokesh treat party activists like their own children, offering them accident insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh and supporting education of children from poor worker families. She noted that rapid development and welfare are progressing under Naidu's leadership. She stated that key infrastructure projects like Amaravati and Polavaram are progressing at full pace, with the Polavaram project nearing completion. Once finished, this project will enable the filling of all irrigation projects in Rayalaseema. She also mentioned Godavari-Banacharla project, for which the CM is putting in significant effort. Upon its completion, every acre in Rayalaseema will receive irrigation water. She criticised the previous government for neglecting Rayalaseema and praised the current administration for attracting industries and striving to develop the region into an industrial and horticulture hub. The Minister lauded the tireless efforts of TDP workers that led to the coalition's success in recent elections and reaffirmed that their efforts will not go unnoticed. She reiterated that nominated positions will soon be filled, and Minister Nara Lokesh has already initiated the process. She urged all TDP leaders and workers across the district to attend the upcoming Mahanadu event, scheduled for May 27–29 in Kadapa, in large numbers to make it a grand success. Prominent leaders including MP BK Parthasaradhi, MLAs Paritala Sunitha, Palle Sindhura Reddy, MS Raju, Kandikunta Venkata Prasad, former ministers N Krishnappa, Palle Raghunath Reddy, former MLC Tippeswamy, leaders Anjanappa, Paritala Sriram and TDP workers in large numbers attended.

Elections to handloom coop bodies before Dasara: Minister Savitha
Vijayawada: Minister for BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms, and Textiles S Savitha on Wednesday announced that elections for handloom cooperative societies will be conducted before Dasara. She stated that health insurance for weavers will soon be implemented. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is prioritising welfare of weavers, and steps are being taken with Central government support to boost handloom product sales. Minister Savitha, along with MLA Adinarayana Reddy, met weavers from across the State here on Wednesday. During the meeting, she sought suggestions and discussed challenges faced by the handloom sector. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Savitha said as promised during elections, 200 units of electricity is being provided free for looms and 500 units for larger looms. Training is being offered for creating new designs, and exhibitions are being organised to facilitate market access for products. She added that mini and mega clusters are being established, and a new textiles policy has been introduced. Referring to the measures to provide financial security to weavers, she said handloom products are purchased through APCO every six months, but henceforth, purchases will be made every three months. As part of employment generation, MSME parks are being established across the state, with priority given to weavers for setting up units, she said. Support is being provided for establishing work sheds, and an additional Rs. 50,000 will be given to weavers for house construction. Chandrababu Naidu will be urged with proposal to establish the NHDC regional office in Vijayawada, currently located in Hyderabad. To further promote handloom clothing, the central and state governments will soon make a decision, mandating that government employees wear handloom clothes one day a week. Similar to the weavers' hall established in Mangalagiri, such halls will be set up in all districts to provide ample work opportunities for weavers. MLA Adinarayana Reddy, Special Chief Secretary of the Handlooms and Textiles Department RP Sisodia also spoke. Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles Rekharani, SERP CEO Vakati Karuna, APCO VC and MD M Vishwa, Padmashali Corporation chairman Abaddayya, Gowda Corporation chairman Veeranki Venkata Gurumurthy, and others also participated.
