Ed Sheeran announces new tour but leaves fans fuming with 'crazy' decision

Ed Sheeran may still be touring but the hit singer has announced yet another tour ready for next year. However, his decision hasn't left all his fans happy. After announcing he will be performing his Loop Tour in 2026, Ed announced the opening dates - and there were none in the UK. Instead, he revealed dates in Australia and New Zealand between January and March. The Shape of You singer, 33, took to Instagram to make the announcement. Sharing an image of him holding up his guitar in front of his adoring fans, as well as a tour poster, Ed wrote: "Starting a brand new tour next year called the LOOP tour. "New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in. We kick it off in Australia and New Zealand in Jan, Feb, March 2026, which is always the best time, I can't wait to be back. Tickets on sale Tues 29th July, see you all there x" While fans fully expect to see the tour in their own country, the decision to only announce Australia and New Zealand seemed to bother some users. While there were no UK dates, his US fans weren't best pleased, either. One user commented: "COME BACK TO THE US NOWWWWWW." Another agreed as they pleaded: "Pls announce USA dates soon." One user also said: "So crazy that you kinda stay on tour! Really thought you'd go on a break haha but so excited omgggg see you in 2027 then hopefully."

'My family and friends will need a new show': Jimmy Fallon 'sad' over cancellation of Stephen Colberts The Late Show

Washington, DC [US], July 19 (ANI): Jimmy Fallon has shared his reaction to the surprise cancellation of 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,' calling the news "shocking." Fallon, who hosts 'The Tonight Show,' took to his Instagram Stories to share his thoughts. Clearly moved, Fallon admitted he was "just as shocked as everyone" to hear the news. He went on to speak about their long friendship, calling Colbert "one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it." "I'm just as shocked as everyone. Stephen is one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it. I really thought I'd ride this out with him for years to come. I'm sad that my family and friends will need a new show to watch every night at 11:30. But honestly, he's really been a gentleman and a true friend over the years -- going back to The Colbert Report, and I'm sure whatever he does next will be just as brilliant," read his Instagram post. Colbert made the announcement during the show's taping on Thursday, July 17, at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York. Colbert, who took over the show in September 2015 after David Letterman retired, told the live audience that CBS had decided to end the program in May of next year. "Before we start the show, I want you to know something I found out just last night," Colbert said during his opening monologue. "Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending The Late Show in May." The audience responded with boos, to which Colbert replied, "It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I'm not being replaced." As for the reasons behind the show's cancellation, CBS, in a statement, explained that the decision to end The Late Show was purely "financial." "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content, or other matters happening at Paramount." 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' has been a top performer in late-night television, leading the ratings for nine straight seasons. The final episodes will air during the 2025-2026 TV season. 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' has been canceled—here's how to get tickets for the final season

It's the end of an era at the Ed Sullivan Theater. CBS has announced it's canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after the 2025–2026 season, pulling the plug on what's been the most-watched late-night show for nearly a decade. The final episode is set for May 2026, but if you've ever dreamed of seeing Colbert live, the window's closing fast. The decision came as a shock to many, including Colbert himself, who broke the news to a stunned studio audience last night. 'Next year will be our last season,' he said, met with boos and disbelief. 'This is all just going away.' Why was The Late Show with Stephen Colbert canceled? According to the New York Times, CBS insists the cancelation was 'purely a financial decision,' citing declining ad revenue and the high cost of producing nightly talk shows. Still, the timing raised eyebrows. The announcement came just weeks after CBS's parent company, Paramount, settled a $16 million lawsuit with Donald Trump —whom Colbert has consistently skewered—and while a controversial merger with Skydance Media awaits government approval. Some lawmakers have already suggested politics, not just profits, might be behind the decision. Regardless of motive, the show's demise signals a broader shift. Late-night as we know it is shrinking. Shows are vanishing. Fewer are even submitted for Emmy consideration. And The Late Show, which was first launched by David Letterman in 1993, had become one of the last remaining standard-bearers of the format. Colbert took over in 2015 and quickly found his stride during the Trump years, turning the show into a sharp-edged, news-forward juggernaut. Even with streaming dominating the media landscape, The Late Show maintained a loyal audience. That loyalty is now fueling demand for one last chance to see the show live. How to get tickets to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Tickets are free and released via typically on Thursdays for the following week's tapings. You'll need to create an account and request a date, though not all requests are granted. If you're selected, you'll receive a confirmation email with details on arrival time, dress code and ID requirements. The show tapes from Monday through Thursday, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early. Note: All audience members must be at least 16 years old.
