Pearson fails to crack top 50 despite jump in world's best airports rankings
The world's top 100 airports for 2025 have been revealed and only one Canadian airport made the top 20 — and it's not in the GTA. Pearson International Airport now sits at No. 55 in the rankings, which sounds dismal but that was a jump from 63rd in 2024 and 64th in 2023 , according to the Skytrax World Airport Awards . Vancouver International Airport was the highest among all Canadian airports at No. 13, moving up four spots from last year. It's also the only North American airport to make the top 20. The only other Canadian airport that made the list was Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in 51st spot, just four places above Pearson. Korean Air earns 5-star Skytrax rating for 5th straight year
Korean Air Co., South Korea's leading air carrier, said Thursday it has received the highest 5-star airline rating from Skytrax, one of the world's most prestigious air transport rating organizations, for a fifth consecutive year. Skytrax, founded in London in 1989, launched its World Airline Star Rating program in 1999 to assess airlines based on comprehensive service evaluations. Airlines are rated on a 1-to-5-star scale, with only 10 carriers worldwide earning the coveted 5-star designation. Korean Air earned high scores for its streamlined passenger experience, premium in-flight dining options, convenient meal pre-ordering service and advanced entertainment offerings, in particular, the company said in a press release. The Korean national flag carrier also received high marks for its cabin crew's multilingual proficiency and other professional services across all cabin classes, it said. "This 5-Star Airline Rating confirms that Korean Air continues to excel in key areas such as cabin comfort, catering, and a very accomplished service delivery both onboard and on each flight," Skytrax Chief Executive Edward Plaisted said in the release.
