Ittihad of Alexandria sign Nigerian striker John Ebuka - Egyptian Football

Egyptian Premier League side Ittihad of Alexandria announced on Sunday the signing of Nigerian striker John Ebuka on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old joins from Masry, where he scored one goal in 12 appearances following a January move from Ceramica Cleopatra. The transfer reunites Ebuka with head coach Ahmed Sami, under whom he previously played at Ceramica Cleopatra, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 14 matches. Ittihad hopes Ebuka's experience in the Egyptian Premier League will strengthen their attacking line ahead of the new season. During his time with ENPPI, Ceramica Cleopatra, and Masry, he has scored 33 goals and provided eight assists in 114 league appearances. The Alexandria-based club has been active in the current transfer window. They recently secured Mohamed Toni and Mohamed Metwally 'Kanaria' from Ceramica Cleopatra in a swap deal that included Mohamed El-Maghrabi, with Mahmoud Ajeeb and Nour Alaa also joining Ittihad as part of the exchange. Abdallah El-Said signs new two-year Zamalek contract

Veteran midfielder Abdallah El-Said has extended his contract with Zamalek by two more seasons to stay at the club until the summer of 2027, the Cairo club announced on Thursday. The White Knights marked the announcement with a video shared on social media, titled "The story is still unfolding. We are the kings, we are Zamalek," featuring tributes from El-Said's teammates and newly appointed coach Yannick Ferrera. The 40-year-old playmaker joined Zamalek in January 2024 on an initial 18-month deal from Pyramids FC where he made183 appearances, scoring 47 goals and provided 44 assists across all competitions. . During his spell at Zamalek, El-Said has become an influential player, featuring in 58 matches, during which he scored 13 goals and provided eight assists, helping the club lift the CAF Confederation Cup, CAF Super Cup and Egypt Cup titles. The extension is part of Zamalek overhaul following a disappointing campaign that saw them finish third in the Egyptian Premier League and exit the CAF Confederation Cup at the quarter-final stage. The club started their rebuild last month by appointing Belgian coach Ferrera and signing Pharco FC duo Ahmed Sherif and Amr Nasser, along with goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman and Angolan winger Chico Banza. D.C. United name Rene Weiler as head coach

Ammon News - D.C. United named Rene Weiler as their new head coach on Wednesday, six days after firing Troy Lesesne. Weiler, 51, has been managing clubs in his native Switzerland as well as Germany, Belgium, Egypt and Japan since 2009. Most recently, he guided Swiss Super League side Servette FC to the Swiss Cup title in 2024. He took over as the club's sporting director in June 2024. "Rene is a tactician with a proven ability to implement a clear and disciplined playing style, and to adapt that system to bring the best out of his players," D.C. general manager and chief soccer officer Ally Mackay said in a news release. "He builds teams that are organized, aggressive out of possession, and purposeful in attack. That style reflects the identity we're working to establish at D.C. United. "His experience developing talent and demanding high standards makes him the ideal leader to guide this project. We're excited to welcome him to the club and fully support his vision for what this team can become." Weiler's teams have won six titles, including the 2016-17 Belgian Pro League with Anderlecht and the 2019-20 Egyptian Premier League with Al Ahly. "This is a club with a proud history and a passionate fanbase, and I believe strongly in the project taking shape here," Weiler said. "The foundation that has been put in place gives me real confidence in what we can build. "There is important work ahead, but I'm excited to help lead D.C. United back to where it belongs, competing for championships." Currently 13th in the Eastern Conference, the Black-and-Red are in danger of missing the MLS Cup Playoffs for a sixth straight season.

Zamalek have signed Pharco FC striker Amr Nasser on a five-year contract, the Egyptian Premier League club announced on Monday. The 26-year-old becomes Zamalek's third signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman and Angolan winger Chico Banza on Sunday. Nasser was Pharco's top scorer last season, netting nine goals in 26 league appearances after joining the Alexandria-based club in January 2024. Egyptian Premier League giants Ahly have completed the signing of defender Yassin Marei from Pharco FC on a five-year contract on Sunday The 23-year-old Marei becomes Ahly's seventh signing this offseason, joining winger Ahmed Sayed 'Zizo', Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, goalkeeper Mohamed Seha, defender Ahmed Ramadan, former Aston Villa midfielder Mahmoud Trezeguet, and striker Mohamed Sherif.
