One Piece sets sail for Dodger Stadium for One Piece Night pro baseball event and giveaways
Luffy and crew return to the City of Angels this summer. Luffy and his One Piece cohorts are always ready to set sail for new adventures in places they've never been before, and this summer that spirit is guiding them to Dodger Stadium for a collaboration with Major League Baseball. When the Los Angeles Dodgers face off against the Chicago White Sox on July 3, not only will it be the eve of Independence Day, it'll also be One Piece Night. The stadium will be decked out in special decorations featuring the cast of the hit anime/manga, and there will also be a number of One Piece 'activations' set up around the venue, some of which will be distributing an exclusive One Piece Card Game card illustrated by series creator Eiichiro Oda himself. Luffy's pitch being a 'strike'-type attack is a clever bit of wordplay, and another cool design detail is the combination of his banded straw hat and the Dodgers' iconic LA-logo cap. Speaking of headwear, while giving away baseball caps at the stadium is a long-standing fan-appreciation night fixture, on One Piece Night the first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive, appropriately, straw hats with both the Dodgers and One Piece logos. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Los Angeles Dodgers (@dodgers) This marks One Piece's third sports stop in the City of Angels, following their team-ups with pro football's Los Angeles Rams in 2023 and pro basketball's Los Angeles Lakers in 2024. One Piece's affinity for the city might have something to do with it being where Toei Animation's American HQ is located (unlike the just-announced Netflix One Piece Lego sets, the sports collaborations are specifically for the anime/manga arms of the franchise). It's also hard to ignore that the presence of Shohei Ohtani on the Dodgers' roster has turned pretty much all of Japan into Dodgers supporters, so the partnership is sure to please home-country One Piece fans too. It's worth noting that the Rams and Lakers both won their One Piece games, and this season the Dodgers have had two anime-related success stories, winning games featuring Pokémon's Pikachu and the Sailor Moon theme song, so hopefully Luffy will lead them to victory too. Everything to Know About ‘One Piece' Season 2's New Crewmate, Tony Tony Chopper
Even if you haven't been an ardent One Piece fan for over 25 years, you might have become intrigued by one particular character thanks to his adorable Chibi appearance: Tony Tony Chopper. The global phenomenon manga and anime series can be a daunting task to get into, given the sheer volume of pages and episodes, but Netflix's live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's epic has opened up his pirate world to wider audiences. And after Chopper's live-action hybrid animation reveal at Tudum last weekend, his popularity will no doubt skyrocket based on the cuteness teased through Mikaela Hoover's instantly endearing performance. Don't be fooled, though; this future member of the Straw Hat Crew is more than an adorable pet mascot medic, he's one of their greatest fighters and fiercest friends. Here's a quick primer on just who Chopper is ahead of One Piece season two's premiere in 2026 on Netflix. Who is Tony Tony Chopper? Chopper was an outcast reindeer with a blue nose who ate the Human-Human Fruit, which turned him into a reindeer-human hybrid. This Devil Fruit bestowed him with consciousness, a high level of intelligence, and the ability to pick up on human languages. After he consumed the fruit, Chopper was fully rejected by his herd, a lot like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, except if he had suddenly mutated and could get real jacked. Where did Chopper come from? Alone in the wilderness of Drum, Chopper eventually crosses paths with the mad scientist Dr. Hiriluk, who is intrigued by his transformation and asks Chopper to be his assistant. Actor Mark Harelik (Preacher), who was cast as the wild-haired doctor for the Netflix series, described Tony Tony Chopper' first friend on Instagram as filled with 'passion and persistence' and teased that maybe the doctor shouldn't be 'so eager to try untested experiments' on his patients. This bit of foreshadowing echoes his grim fate, which propels Chopper to learn more about medicine under Dr. Kureha when she takes him in. Katey Sagal (Futurama) plays Kureha, the One Piece favorite who would go on to teach Chopper everything she knows. The team-up between Kureha and Chopper is something we're really looking forward to in season two. How does Chopper meet the Straw Hat Crew? Nami falls ill near the Drum Kingdom, and Luffy and the crew seek out help in the frozen expanse. Luckily, they meet Dr. Kureha and Chopper. In exchange for helping cure the Straw Hat's navigator, the crew assists in freeing Drum Kingdom from its tyrannical ruler. Chopper is reluctant to join the Straw Hats but after being snatched by the Foxy Pirate Crew as a member against his will, Luffy liberates him from that by winning a battle against them. He then gives Chopper the choice to join the Straw Hats of his own free will—and eventually, after a lot of his trademark reluctance at being perceived, he gives in. Much like the preview we saw on Tudum, Chopper has his quirks, like hiding the wrong way or breaking out into a dance when complimented, something he gets visibly ornery over (but secretly loves). We can't wait to see him visibly struggle to hide his excitement when he finally finds a family with the Straw Hats. What are Chopper's powers? In addition to his intelligence, Chopper becomes bi-pedal and stays in the form of a cute pet for the most part. However, he can evolve into three forms (kind of like Pokémon evolutions) and can go back to the one of his choosing, which happens to cause a lot of cuteness aggression. The other forms come in handy when the Straw Hats are in battle. Chopper uses 'Walk Point,' which heightens his reindeer agility and animalistic senses; 'Brain Point,' which is the humanoid pet form he stays in with a big head for the smarts it grants along with a small body; and 'Heavy Point,' which is when he looks like a jacked human with reindeer features that helps him beat the crap out of enemies. With the use of a drug called the 'Rumble Ball,' which looks like a yellow gum ball, Chopper can access even more transformation points and becomes an uncontrollable monster if he's not too careful. What is Chopper's dream? Luffy's tendency to recruit Straw Hats always comes down to their dreams and Chopper's is one of the sweetest ones. After losing Dr. Hiriluk and seeing death spread in ways that existentially changes him, Chopper's dream is to cure the world of all diseases. It makes him perfect for the Straw Hat Crew as their doctor on board and trusty secret weapon in battle. One Piece season two will be released sometime in 2026 on Netflix.

One Piece reveals Imu's terrifying powers: Here's everything we know so far
The mysterious big bad of the entire world finally takes center stage—and fans are shook. If you're not a diehard One Piece fan, you may be unfamiliar with Imu. In the fictional universe of this popular anime and manga series, Imu is the hooded person who runs the World Government from behind the scenes. Introduced during the Levely Arc, Imu has only just recently begun to display their true abilities and the current manga chapters are showing just how horrifying Imu can be. So, in Chapter 1150 of the One Piece manga, the creator Eiichiro Oda has finally been able to show us just how disturbing the powers of Imu truly are. Some of these powers are so unbelievably powerful, they can compare to the most powerful and infamous Devil Fruits known to exist. Whether you're a One Piece veteran or just getting your feet wet, here's an easily digestible, spoiler-free guide to every power Imu has displayed thus far. 1. Possession: Imu can take over other people's bodies Imu has the ability to completely take over the bodies of her followers, most notably the God's Knights. When she commandeers a knight named Gunko, she maneuvers the body like a puppet but much more thoroughly and terrifyingly than anything we've seen so far. This is a departure from Devil Fruits such as Doflamingo's, which control motion. Imu's control is absolute—mind, body, and soul. 2. Demon form: Imu transforms into a monster In an early scene, when Imu takes over a person's body, the victim's transformation is horrifying. Read on, and get your creative ideas boiling to include wings, tail, horns—the true demon aesthetic. Her devotees literally transform into these giant beastly shapes. Whether a part of this transformation suggests the legacy of an old race or lost force, like a Magellan-esque looking Magellan, the toxic jailer from the draw Impel Down arc. 3. Conqueror's haki so strong it crushes giants Haki is already one of the most powerful forces in the One Piece universe, but Imu raises the bar even higher. When she enters the battlefield, her Conqueror's Haki is described as so powerful that it automatically takes out Giant warriors. That even the very best of the best fighters, like Shanks, have never been shown doing it…until now. 4. Summoning weapons out of thin air Geared up, in the heat of battle, Imu conjures a giant gun and dagger out of thin air. This is deeper than Devil Fruits like Baby 5's, who turn her body into weapons. Imu doesn't change—she just makes sledgehammers and ice picks and fire hoses from thin air. 5. Instant teleportation using magic circles You don't often see teleportation in One Piece, but Imu just shifts through space without a care. It's one of the most incredible powers in a show filled with them. She can draw blazing magic circles in the air and magically teleport herself, her entire magical girl army, or even massive weapons, across enormous leaps. Unlike yet another charlatan who set up their plays in slow motion, she sets up her entire play mid-air and virtually instantaneously. She is faster than any God's Knight. 6. Demon contracts: Turning people into immortal monsters Remarkably, Imu is able to write contracts that transform individuals into monstrous, demon-like soldiers. These contracts don't require anyone's approval. She can impose them unilaterally on whomever she pleases. Once the agreement is reached, the individual turns into an unparalleled clearing-device of death, answering to Imu's every whim, similar to Sugar's doll slaves from Dressrosa. 7. Total mind control Arguably, one of the spookiest aspects of Imu's power is mind control. Once she has someone under her influence, they're not just physically altered—they're mentally controlled. This is even deeper than the deepest recorded Devil Fruit. It's even more impressive than Pudding's memory-altering powers or Breed's anime-only control collars. Is Imu the most powerful villain in One Piece? Fans are left wondering now, as the series continues to ramp up towards its conclusion, whether or not Imu is, in fact, the final boss of One Piece. Her powers aren't just physical—they're emotional, mental, and even magical. Whether her powers are attributed to a Devil Fruit, ancient technology, or something even older, it's obvious she's in a league of her own. As the One Piece manga heads into its last saga, look for Imu to get even more dangerous. We've just gotten a taste of her power and if that taste is this horrifying, the fully realized powers she could unleash would alter reality completely. Lego's Amazing ‘One Piece' Sets Set Course for This Summer
We've known for a while that Lego was going to be bringing the world of One Piece—or more specifically, Netflix's imagining of Eiichiro Oda's seminal manga and its epically lengthed anime adaptation—to brickbuilt life, but now the company has lifted the lid on a treasure lest laden with new sets: and from big to small, there's plenty to love in their spin on the series. This morning Lego officially confirmed that its One Piece line will sail into stores this August, and it's not just one lavish set, but seven. Five standard playsets will depict key moments, characters, and locations from throughout the first season of the Netflix series, alongside two chibi-figurine BrickHeadz of Luffy and Buggy to round out the wave. The sets include options big and small, from a small scene recreating Luffy's first encounter with Shanks, to a lavish, 3,402-piece recreation of the Baratie and its absurd dining experience. And, of course, there's probably what is going to be the most sought after set: a replica of the Going Merry itself, complete with the whole Straw Hat Crew as of the end of season one (you'll have to wait to see if Lego does season two sets to get Tony Tony Chopper, alas). Check out the breakdown below of each set—every Lego One Piece set is available to preorder today, ahead of a launch on August 1. Lego BrickHeadz One Piece Luffy and Buggy the Clown Our fearless, stretchy pirate hero and the creepiest villain of season one will both get the BrickHeadz treatment as part of the wave. ($10 each) Lego One Piece Windmill Village Hut Clocking in at 299 pieces, this set gives you a small slice of Luffy's home village on Dawn Island, and comes with minifigures of the young Luffy, Shanks, and Makino—and the gum gum fruit that changes Luffy's life forever. ($30) Lego One Piece Buggy the Clown's Circus Tent The next set up recreates the battle with Buggy in his creepy circus set up, and as well as Buggy and Luffy, includes minifigures of Nami and Zoro… and various contraptions for the crew to escape from. ($55) Lego One Piece Battle at Arlong Park The Straw Hats' showdown with Arlong and Chu has plenty of smaller builds as part of the set, including the collapsible pagoda and a small forest to replicate Usopp's duel with Chu. As well as minifigures of the aforementioned Arlong, Chu, and Usopp, it also includes Nami and a special version of the Luffy minifigure with wildly elongated arms to showcase his rubbery powers. It's the only set of the wave that includes these, so if you want this Luffy in particular, you'll have to cough up for it. ($80) Lego One Piece The Going Merry Pirate Ship It's not the biggest set in the wave, but there's no doubt this is going to be the breakout everyone wants: the Straw Hat crew's very first pirate ship, faithfully recreated in Lego form. The 1,376-piece set includes a detailed interior and a printed sail emblazoned with the iconic, behatted skull and crossbones of the Jolly Roger, and the complete crew: Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Zoro, and Sanji. ($140) Lego One Piece The Baratie Floating Restaurant The only adult-focused set in the wave, the Baratie is a stunner. Clocking in at a whopping 3,402 pieces, the restaurant is packed with Easter eggs, including a detailed interior across multiple floors; a pier you can dock the Going Merry at; and 10 minifigures, including Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Zoro, and a unique version of Sanji in his sous chef uniform, as well as Zeff, Vice Admiral Garp, Helmeppo, Koby, and Mihawk. ($330)
