25 Celebs Who Dissolved Their Facial Fillers
Dermal fillers have become a popular cosmetic procedure in recent years. While some people still love the look, a surprising number have decided to reverse or stop getting their fillers. Here are 25 celebs who opened up about dissolving or stopping their fillers: In a 2025 Instagram post, Courtney Stodden said, "I started getting lip filler at 17. Back then, I truly believed I had to change myself to be accepted — even by me. I didn't give myself the chance to love who I really was. I was chasing perfection, running from insecurity, and hiding behind enhancements. But recently, I made a decision that felt radical: I completely dissolved my lips!!! 👄 they feel small, but real! Aaaand I absolutely love them this way 👀💋🙌 And just now, for the first time, I'm beginning to learn that I am enough. This isn't about rejecting beauty — it's about redefining it on my own terms. I've learned that real confidence isn't in what we add, but in what we choose to embrace. To anyone who feels like they need to change to be enough: you don't. You already are." Here's a picture of them a year prior: In her Netflix stand-up comedy special Ellen Degeneres: For Your Approval, Ellen DeGeneres said, "I used to say that I didn't care what other people thought of me. I realize now, looking back, that I said that at the height of my popularity. Hey, if I look older than when you saw me last, it's because I'm older than when you saw me last. And also, I stopped doing Botox and filler...I used to do Botox and filler back when I didn't care what other people thought of me... such a waste of time to worry about what others think of us. Just a waste of energy. We're just guessing, we don't know. It's impossible to guess what people are thinking." Here's Ellen in 2019: In 2022, Simon Cowell told the Sun, "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far [with fillers]. I saw a picture of me from 'before' the other day and didn't recognize it as me first of all. Eric [my son] was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero." Here's Simon a few years prior: In 2023, Angela White (aka Blac Chyna) documented the process of getting her lip, cheek, and jawline fillers dissolved on Instagram. "I'm tired of the look, and it's just not flattering. It's not what I look like...I'm ready to get back to Angela." Here's a picture of her before she dissolved her fillers: And here she is a full year after dissolving them: In a 2024 Instagram post, Tallulah Willis said, "I was scared to mention, but I recently got my filler dissolved — after being very emotionally and psychologically wrapped up in what I thought it gave me — I hadn't seen my real bone structure in like six years. Still learning to dial back the futzing and the pokes and sit with myself as I am, which is hard when your brain tells you that yes! more is better!" Here's a picture of Tallulah in 2023, before she dissolved her fillers: In a 2021 Instagram post, Amy Schumer said, "I tried getting fillers. Turns out I was already full. Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like [Maleficent]." Here's Amy a few weeks prior: In 2023, Ariana Grande told Vogue, "I had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I felt so — too much. For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me, and now I feel like maybe it's not. I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines. I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper, and I laugh more and more. Aging can be such a beautiful thing." Here's Ariana in 2016: In 2006, Jessica Simpson told Glamour that she had previously tried lip injections. She said, "I had that Restylane stuff. It looked fake to me. I didn't like that. But... it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!" Here's Jessica earlier that year: And here she is more recently: On a 2016 episode of Kocktails With Khloé, Khloé Kardashian said, "Everyone says I've had my nose done, and I swear I haven't. I don't know if it's Botox or filler, [but] I did one of them, and my whole face went numb, and I could not make [an expression]. I had to dissolve everything...I looked crazy, and I still think the effects are, like, in there." Khloé said this happened right before her husband at the time, Lamar Odom, was found unresponsive after a four-day bender. She continued, "I was so stressed out that the doctor was like, 'I think it's just that too much was happening to your real emotions.' And my face was so fucked, I had to go and get this whole thing, like, dissolved. It was a bummer because now I'm afraid to do it again, but I swear, I think things are still in my face." Here's Khloé a few weeks after getting her lip fillers dissolved: And here's a more recent picture of here: In July 2018, a fan commented on Kylie Jenner's Instagram that she "looks like the old Kylie." She replied, "I got rid of all my filler." Here she is a few months before she says she dissolved her lip filler: However, in October 2018, Kylie confirmed via Instagram that she'd resumed getting lip fillers. In a 2024 TikTok video, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice shared the process of getting her lip fillers dissolved before starting over with new filler. She said, "The reason why I'm getting it done is because I see migration on the top of my lip over here." Then, showing how her lips looked several hours after the procedure, she said, "Now I'm ready to start fresh! But I gotta wait, like, a week and a half to two weeks." Here's a more recent picture of Teresa: Courteney Cox decided to dissolve her facial fillers in 2017. Two years later, she told People, "[I tried] to keep up with time in a way that was anything other than maintenance. I didn't realize it until one day I kind of stepped back and went, 'Oh shit. I don't look like myself.'...So now I just embrace who I am and getting older with what God gave me, not what I was trying to change." And in 2022, she told the Sunday Times, "There was a time when you go, 'Oh, I'm changing. I'm looking older.' And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years. And I didn't realize that, oh shit, I'm actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do would talk about me, I think. There was a period where I went, 'I've got to stop. That's just crazy.'" Here's Courteney the year before she dissolved her fillers: In 2024, The Real Housewives of Dubai star Caroline Stanbury told People that she started getting fillers and Botox at 26, but she was no longer happy with how they looked. She said, "I had one crazy eyebrow. My lips had gone a bit weird. My face just [got] rounder and rounder and bigger and bigger, because I just kept pumping filler in my jawline." So, she had it all dissolved. She added, "[I] thought to myself the cost of doing this every year, you know, is a facelift." So, after some consideration, she decided to get a deep plane facelift and have excess skin removed from her eyelids. Here's Caroline in 2023: Jeff Lewis (from the Bravo show Flipping Out) decided to dissolve his decades-old lip filler after his dermatologist refused to do any work on him until they "fixed" his lips. During a 2022 appearance on Sirius XM, he said, "What happened was the filler [from] 20 years ago…it migrated into both sides of my upper lip and created, like, two balls. Now, I didn't know it was filler; I thought it might be silicone, I didn't know. Over the years, I haven't liked it, but I thought, 'They're gonna have to cut open my lip and take it out.'" Here's Jeff in 2019: In a 2024 Instagram story post, Bhad Bhabie shared that she'd dissolved all the filler in her lips, chin, and cheeks. She wrote, "Stop doing it unless you absolutely need it. It makes you look so much older and blocks you lymphatic draining system causing pillow face! [sic]" Here she is in 2021, around the time she first opened up about getting fillers: In her 2017 memoir Unqualified, Anna Faris reportedly wrote, "I started getting lip injections in my upper lip. I did it for a little bit, and I noticed a small difference, but no one else ever said anything. I kept wondering if anybody else even noticed." She said that, eventually, her friends did notice and told her that her lips were starting to look too large, so she decided to "wean" herself off of the fillers. Here's Anna back in 2007: In 2017, Melanie Griffith told Porter magazine, "No, I didn't [realize] until people started saying. 'Oh my god, what has she done?!' I was so hurt I went to a different doctor, and he started dissolving all of this shit that this other woman doctor had put in. Hopefully, I look more normal now." Here she is in 2014: In a 2023 TikTok video, JoJo said, "A few months ago, maybe three months ago, right before I came to New York, I got my lip filler dissolved because it had started to migrate. Huh? I didn't know it could do that. I thought it was just going to 'metabolize' and dissolve. Like, I thought it was just going to go away over time, you know? No, it got, like, lumpy underneath [my upper lip], and I would run my tongue along it and be like, 'What the fuck is going on?' So anyway, I had my lip filler dissolved, and I'm really glad I did, because even if there's some remnant of something in there, which I don't think that, there is there probably is, I'm very happy with the way it looks because this is, like, the kind of natural...I don't know, I still have small lips, but you know, it's my face. It's me." Here's JoJo a few months earlier: In a 2024 Instagram story post, Olivia Culpo revealed that, ahead of her wedding, she got her lip injectables dissolved. She added, "I'm really happy the way they look now. Debating filling again but might just keep like this for the wedding." Here's a picture of Olivia from earlier in 2024, before she had her lip fillers dissolved: In a 2019 Instagram post, Yolanda Hadid said, "55 and smiling from the inside back to the original 1964. Living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, extensions, and all the bullshit I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like until the toxicity of it all almost killed me..."It took me many years of undoing some bad choices I made for myself before I finally found the freedom to sustainable internal beauty and acceptance of what is the best version of myself by nobody's standards but my own." Here's Yolanda in 2018: In 2023, Kristin Davis told the Telegraph, "I have done fillers, and it's been good, and I've done fillers, and it's been bad. I've had to get them dissolved, and I've been ridiculed relentlessly. And I have shed tears about it." Here's Kristin in 2021: In a since-deleted 2024 TikTok, an aesthetic physician assistant criticized Lisa Rinna for having "too much filler." Lisa commented, "Skinvive [a dermal filler or gel implant] is not for everyone, and it was not good for me. Luckily we could dissolve it today. Whew." She later told People, "Some things work out, and some things don't. There's so much available to us now, which is so great, such great lasers and whatnot, and I think it's wonderful to see what works for you. And if it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you." Here's Lisa at an event the month before she dissolved her Skinvine: In a 2022 Instagram story post, Lottie Tomlinson shared that she was dissolving her lip fillers. She said she was "nervous but excited to be more natural." Here's Lottie a few days before dissolving her lip fillers: And here she is a few weeks after dissolving them: And finally, in 2021, Molly-Mae Hague told The Diary of a CEO podcast that she thought she needed fillers to become a successful influencer but later decided to get them dissolved. She said, "By the age of 21, I didn't look like the same person. I literally looked like a different person. When I look back at pictures now, I'm terrified of was actually only until my sister said to me — she was like, 'We need to sort this out.' It took her to tell me. There was this one pivotal moment where I'd gone, and I'd got loads of filler, and I posted a YouTube video, and I hadn't let the filler sort of settle. And it was really swollen, and a screenshot from that video, it trended on Twitter for weeks. It was was a moment for me as well where was like, 'I think things need to change.'" As well as getting her fillers dissolved, she removed the composite bonding from her teeth. She said, "I just stripped myself back, and weirdly, I felt the prettiest I'd ever felt once it had all gone. I feel like I'd dropped about five years off my age." Here's Molly-Mae in 2020, right before she dissolved her lip fillers:

Why American celebrities ‘escaping' Trump by fleeting to Britain may be in for a big surprise
Since Trump began his second term, Britain has become a political escape hatch for American celebrities and wealthy Democrats. It's so popular that last week, the British Home Office released data showing that in the 12 months leading up to March, almost 7,000 US citizens applied to become British subjects or live here indefinitely — the highest number since such records began in 2004. A third of those applications have been received since Trump took office at the start of 2025. There are the famous emigres. Kamala Harris supporters Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have taken up residence in the bucolic Cotswolds, selling their Montecito homes after becoming 'very disillusioned' when Trump won, according to TMZ. 'English country life' runs the caption on Ellen's latest Instagram reel showing her luxurious home and grounds, complete with chicken and gambolling rabbit. 4 Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have left the US for the UK following Trump's return to office. Getty Images Fellow comedian Rosie O'Donnell has moved to UK-adjacent Ireland and will only 'consider coming back' when it is 'safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America,' as she said on a Tik Tok video in March. Brit Minnie Driver left LA to return to the motherland prompted by Trump's win. Others considering a move to the UK include Barbra Streisand, who has said she 'can't live in this country if [Trump] becomes president,' as well as Cher and America Ferrera. 'Girls' creator Lena Dunham — along with Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes — traded the US for London before Trump's inauguration. But the glitzy progressives falling for Britain may find they are in for a shock: This is not the liberal paradise they imagined, despite our Labour prime minister. In fact, Britain's next leader could be a lot like Donald Trump. The populist Reform party is surging in the polls, threatening to explode Britain's political landscape. It is built around Brexit architect Nigel Farage, an anti-immigration figure with similar cult-like status to Trump and the president's erstwhile close friend. Reform is no fringe party: 40% of Brits think Farage will be the next Prime Minister. 4 Rosie O'Donnell hasn't moved to Britain, but to Ireland — where she believes it will be safer for her and her gender-nonconforming child. Getty Images Trump's followers remain steadfast despite all; as the president himself noted, he could shoot someone in Times Square and 'not lose any voters.' Farage, our possible future prime minister, confers a similar blind devotion on his own party supporters. When a Reform candidate from Yorkshire, selected to run for a seat in Parliament, was revealed to have said, 'Black people should get off their lazy arses and stop acting like savages,' voters didn't care; he still came second. Last week, a frenzy erupted over a 'racist' advert for Reform which bashed the Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar by saying he will 'prioritize the Pakistani community.' Not a peep of contrition. Do those trading Trump's America for Britain fully understand what has been going on in our less glamorous areas? 4 Trump with Nigel Farage, leader of Britain's Reform Party. Getty Images This week saw a car-ramming in Liverpool, injuring scores who were out celebrating a soccer triumph. Do they know what happened last summer, following the massacre by Axel Rudakubana, the son of Sudanese immigrants, of three little girls at a Taylor Swift dance class in the peaceful northern town Southport? There were mass riots as thugs stormed mosques and lit them on fire — plus a groundswell of rage at how the Islamist ambitions and sympathies of Britain's unassimilated immigrants and asylum-seekers are covered up. From the British perspective, of course, the arrival of wealthy and famous American Dems-in-exile has shone an interesting light on our own debates about immigration. Though few admit it, least of all those in power, there are Good Migrants and there are Bad Migrants. 4 Axel Rudakubana, who killed three small girls at a Taylor Swift concert, sparked large-scale anti-Muslim riots in Britain. AP It is generally agreed now by all the parties that Something Must Be Done about the Bad Ones. In 2024, 694 boats carrying 53 illegal immigrants apiece seeking asylum arrived on British shores, costing taxpayers £6 million a day on hotel bills alone. But the good ones like Ellen with her $18 million farmhouse? We can't get enough. Ironically echoing Trump's idea of a 'gold card' for desirable immigrants, the UK's home secretary said earlier this month that Britain would be introducing 'provisions to qualify more swiftly that take account of the contribution people have made.' This should ease the way for more Ellens, Evas and Lenas. Of course, it's hardly a surprise that most people will take an American celebrity over a trafficked Syrian any day, and their arrival is certainly a bonus for us. But when they discover how far short of a liberal paradise Britain is becoming, their stays on this sceptred isle might be shorter than anticipated.

Rob Lowe, 61, fans go 'bonkers' over surprise detail in shirt-free photo with mini-me son, 29
Rob Lowe fans went nuts over a new eye-popping photo the '80s hunk shared to Instagram on Tuesday. The 61-year-old St Elmo's Fire actor and former Brat Packer had on shorts as he stood next to his look-alike 29-year-old son John Owen while in a gym. It was surprising what great shape both of the actors - who costarred for two seasons on the show Unstable - were in as they looked tanned and toned. And it was cute that both men were flexing their arm muscles and sucking in their tummies for the camera while wearing gold necklaces. But there was a surprising detail that caught followers off guard. Can you guess what it is? From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It was a large new tattoo on Rob's arm. Fans were shocked that Rob had a massive tattoo on his arm that does not seem to go with his clean public image. 'I am going bonkers, Robby with a monster tat, oh hell no,' said one fan. Some fans found it sexy: 'Rob just got a little hotter now that I know he has that nice tat.' Another said: 'It's hot like Johnny Depp hot.' Then there was this: 'He looks like a foxy sailor from Boston with that ink scrawl.' The tattoo is not the same one he showed off to Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show several years ago; that one is on his other arm. The big, dark one seems to be new. He did not have it when he posed shirtless on the cover of Vanity Fair in 2018. And he did not display the tattoo when he was seen on a boat in 2024. But he did have it in April of this year. Fans also liked his son's mark that featured a long-stemmed wine glass: 'Tat like dad but smaller, how cute.' Rob seemed to be having fun sharing the rare shirt-free photo: 'Lowe family tradition: self indulgent shirtless gym photos,' the star joked. Lowe's older son Matthew, 32, took a jab at his brother as he said, 'Why does it look like you photoshopped your head on @johnnylowe.' Rob shares his two sons with his wife of many decades, jewelry designer Sheryl Berkoff. Rob is staying busy by hosting the podcast Literally! With Rob Lowe, where he regularly welcomes A-list guests including Adam Scott, Jason Isaac, and Kristin Davis. He is also the face of the Tubi game show The Floor. Earlier this month Lowe shared vivid memories of his grandmother Mim's battle with breast cancer. The actor, known for his role in 9-1-1: Lone Star' shared a close bond with his grandmother during his childhood, and has said his grandmom's health fight became a pivotal experience that would shape his life and the way he approaches cancer awareness today. He told People: 'My memory of it is like it happened yesterday because of this sort of uproar it caused in our family. In those days, the odds were not good. I 100 percent remember our family feeling lost, wishing that there was more that could be done.' Rob affectionately refers to his grandmother as 'my beloved,' and recounts the profound impact her illness had on their family. As Mim's condition worsened, doctors told her to 'get her affairs in order' in a grim diagnosis that devastated the family. But just as it seemed there were no options left, Mim's fate took a dramatic turn when she was accepted into a clinical trial for breast cancer treatments. Rob also explained how the clinical trial changed everything for his grandmother, saying: 'There were multiple times where she had run out of options and just at that moment there was a clinical trial (that) changed the course of her cancer journey.' Mim's survival story became a beacon of hope for Rob and his family. The actor said: 'She survived and thrived longer than anyone with her type of cancer in those days.' He added Mim's success in the trial not only defied the odds but also paved the way for treatments that would later become standard care. Here the actor is seen right with his longtime friend Kevin Costner Inspired by his grandmother's resilience, Rob has partnered with Eli Lilly and Company to promote awareness about the importance of clinical trials into cancer treatments. Despite the transformative role these trials played in Mim's survival, only seven percent of cancer patients in the United States participate in them. Rob hopes to change that, and added: 'My great grandmother, my grandmother Mim, and my mother all had breast cancer and they helped raise me. 'They raised me and now, in their memory, I can raise awareness about the importance of doing clinical trials.' Rob stressed every cancer patient's journey is different, but said the key to finding the right treatment is taking the initiative to ask about options.

Why Did 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' End? A Look at the Comedian's Daytime TV Run and What Unfolded Behind the Scenes
After several years on air, Ellen DeGeneres was hit with toxic workplace claims on the set of her eponymous talk show in July 2020 The final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired on May 26, 2022 DeGeneres has slowly returned to comedy, starring in a 2024 Netflix special where she addressed the controversyUntil 2020, Ellen DeGeneres was known almost exclusively for her 'be kind' mantra. But when a report detailing alleged employee mistreatment on her show broke, that all changed. In the article, published by Buzzfeed News, several employees came forward about their experiences of working on the show. 'That 'be kind' bullshit only happens when the cameras are on. It's all for show,' one former employee told the publication. 'I think the executive producers surround her and tell her, 'Things are going great, everybody's happy,' and she just believes that, but it's her responsibility to go beyond that,' claimed another. Following the controversy, The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired for nearly two more years, but was officially ended on May 26, 2022. In her 2024 stand-up special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, the longtime talk show host responded to the rumors for the final time. DeGeneres joked about being "kicked out of show business" for being "mean," and added that this wasn't her first time being dropped from the industry. In 1998, the comedian's hit show Ellen was cancelled after she came out as gay. From the 2020 controversy to her farewell tour, here's everything to know about why The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended. In July 2020, Buzzfeed News published a report with anonymous accounts from former and current employees of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. These employees alleged racism, being overworked and more mistreatment behind the scenes of the widely popular series. The Ellen DeGeneres Show's executive producers, Ed Glavin, Mary Connelly and Andy Lassner, said in a joint statement that 'they take the stories of the employees 'very seriously.' " 'Over the course of nearly two decades, 3,000 episodes, and employing over 1000 staff members, we have strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment," the producers added. "We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience. It's not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us.' In the Buzzfeed article and on social media, DeGeneres and the talk show's producers were accused of facilitating a "toxic work environment" on the series. Claims from staffers included being penalized for taking medical leave, repeated racial microaggressions and fear of retribution for raising complaints about working conditions. While no specific allegations were made against DeGeneres in the report, one former employee alleged producers hid the toxic workplace complaints from the host. "I think the executive producers surround her and tell her, 'Things are going great, everybody's happy,' and she just believes that, but it's her responsibility to go beyond that," they said. Following the Buzzfeed report, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter announced that The Ellen Degeneres Show was under internal review by WarnerMedia. Following the internal investigation regarding the alleged toxic workplace claims, the comedian apologized to her staff in a letter. "On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case," she wrote in the message, which was obtained by PEOPLE." And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it's the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show." Additionally, three top producers — Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman — parted ways with the show. DeGeneres used her farewell stand-up tour and comedy special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, to address the 2020 scandal. "I used to say, 'I don't care what people say about me,' " she admitted in the stand-up routine. 'Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity." While she claimed to have been 'kicked out of show business" for 'being mean,' in the special she did not speak to the accuracy of the claims made against her, nor did she attempt to prove them false. She did, however, point to the double standards between expectations of men and women in leadership roles. 'We have all these unwritten rules based on gender of acceptable behavior, of who we're allowed to be, and how we're allowed to act,' she explained in the special. 'And if we don't follow those rules, it makes people uncomfortable. And when people get uncomfortable, there are consequences. For those of you keeping score, this is the second time I've been kicked out of show business.' 'I am a strong woman,' she claimed before being met with roaring applause. No, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which began on Sept. 8, 2003, concluded on May 26, 2022. Following the alleged toxic workplace claims, a variety of celebrities came to DeGeneres' defense online. As detailed by Business Insider, celebrities such as Katy Perry, Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Hart, Scooter Braun, Diane Keaton, Jay Leno, Octavia Spencer and Sofia Vergara were among DeGeneres' supporters. On Instagram, Spencer wrote: "All of my interactions with everyone from the show including ELLEN were supportive and fun! In that spirit I am praying all involved get the love and support they need.' On X, Perry shared, "I know I can't speak for anyone else's experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow.' Likewise, Portia de Rossi came to her wife's defense, writing, 'I Stand By Ellen" on Instagram. Nearly four years after the 2020 report was published, as part of her "Ellen's Last Stand ... Up" tour, DeGeneres performed a three-night show in Santa Rosa, Calif. During the set, the comedy star gave the audience a life update, per SFGate. "Let me catch you up on what's been going on with me since you last saw me,' DeGeneres shared with her crowd. 'I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean." DeGeneres expressed the same sentiments in her 2024 special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval. "I'm making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating," she explained. "It took a long time for me to want to do anything again." DeGeneres later moved to Europe with her wife. Read the original article on People

Ellen DeGeneres suffers heartbreaking loss after leaving Hollywood
Ellen DeGeneres recently suffered a heartbreaking loss after fleeing Hollywood for a quieter life in the English countryside following her toxic workplace scandal. Last week, the former talk show host, 67, revealed on Instagram that her and her wife Portia de Rossi's beloved rescue dog Augie recently died. DeGeneres rescued the pooch more than a decade ago and he was one of three dogs owned by the celebrity couple, who have been married since 2008. 'We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday,' DeGeneres — who recently debuted a new look — announced on Friday, May 16. 'We rescued him 12 years ago and he was so grateful. He gave us so much love. He will be missed. There will never be another like him.' Along with her heartfelt words, DeGeneres shared a slideshow of photos of Augie, a Beagle-Chihuahua mix, taken through the years. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Several of the snaps showed the tiny dog cuddling with Portia or sunning outside at the sprawling $32 million Montecito mansion that DeGeneres offloaded in 2024. Days later, DeGeneres returned to Instagram to thank her 136million followers for their 'kind messages.' She also uploaded a never before seen video of herself and Portia with Augie that was recorded just weeks before his death. The video showed the senior dog sleeping peacefully in Portia's lap as DeGeneres spoke about her skincare line, Kind Science By Ellen. 'Thank you for all of your kind messages about Augie,' the star wrote. 'We filmed this last month and planned to post it today. 'I don't care what Portia says, please don't call me the Deal Queen. We love you, Augie.' Portia has yet to publicly comment on Augie's death but the Arrested Development star, 52, is not active on social media like DeGeneres. The couple, who do not have children together, have been proud dog parents for many years. 'We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday,' DeGeneres announced on Friday, May 16 DeGeneres rescued the pooch more than a decade ago and he was one of three dogs owned by the celebrity couple Along with Augie, they own a Poodle-Maltese mix named Kid and a purebred Poodle named Mrs. Wallis Browning. Back in 2023, DeGeneres shared photos of Augie, Kid and Mrs. Wallis Browning in honor of National Pet Day. She captioned the post: 'Happy #NationalPetDay to this crew,' and added a heart emoji. Along with their dogs, DeGeneres and her actress wife also have two tuxedo cats named George and Chairman. Back in 2020, their pet brood became smaller following the loss of both Charlie the cat and Wolf the dog. DeGeneres is a well-known animal lover and even has a line of pet toys, beds, dresses, tees, tank tops, and sweatshirts called ED by Ellen DeGeneres. However it appears the line, which was sold at PetSmart, is no longer in production. DeGeneres' recent family tragedy comes two weeks after she shocked fans by debuting a brand new hairstyle — after decades of rocking a blonde pixie cut. She did so by sharing footage of herself mowing the grass at her and Portia's new home in the English country side. In the clip, DeGeneres sat on top of a yellow mower and revealed that she has ditched her signature blonde locks for a brunette shade. The star could be seen steering the mower through a large field as a layer of gray clouds filled the sky. Text was added towards the bottom of the reel which read, 'How it started.' The video then cut to Ellen being assisted by an individual after the machine seemingly broke down on a steep hill. The clip concluded as more text popped up onto the screen which said, 'How it ended.' The comedian also penned in the caption: 'Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right.' The couple moved to the U.K. following Donald Trump's presidential win late last year in November. They were recently forced to relocate to a different property near Oxfordshire after their Cotswolds home suffered severe flooding shortly after moving in. DeGeneres previously gave fans a rare look at her new life in England to her 136 million followers. Last month in April, she snapped a photo while standing behind Portia as they looked out at the scenic view of the countryside and a double rainbow following a rainfall. '3 things that make me happy: My Wife A Rainbow And my wife taking a photograph of a Rainbow,' she wrote. Back in 2020, DeGeneres was embroiled in controversy after being accused of creating a toxic work environment - and later issued an apology. After nearly two decades of being on the air, The Ellen Degeneres Show also came to an end just two years later in 2022. She previously told The Hollywood Reporter, 'I have to just trust that whatever happened during that time, which was obviously very, very difficult, happened for a reason. 'I think that I learned a lot, and there were some things that came up that I was shocked and surprised by. It was eye-opening, but I just trust that that had to happen.' She stepped in front of the camera once again for her 2024 Netflix special titled Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval. However upon its release, the project garnered mainly mixed to negative reviews and garnered a score of 33% on Rotten Tomatoes. A few months earlier in March of this year, Ellen took the big step of listing her Montecito property for $4,995,000. Less than two weeks later, the star's home sold for over the asking price at $5.2 million. People reported at the time that the two-bedroom, two-bathroom abode quickly went into escrow after receiving 'multiple offers within two days of hitting the market.' And back in January, Ellen and Portia had put an additional Montecito property on the market for $29.9 million. The couple opted to move into an $18 million house in the Cotswolds area in the U.K. late last year. The reason the pair chose to relocate to the British countryside rather than Portia's home country of Australia was soon revealed. A source explained to New Idea, 'Ellen wants to continue with her comedy work, and there is a huge scene in Britain. 'Sitting back and chilling on a beach in Australia is for when she's ready to retire and Ellen's not there yet.' But after the move, their six-bedroom Cotswolds home was met with severe flooding due to Storm Bert. An insider informed MailOnline, 'Ellen and Portia have had several issues with the place they initially moved into. 'First there was the flooding, of course, then there was an issue with some locals complaining about some building work carried out at the property.' DeGeneres and Portia have since moved to a different property which is only a 30 minute drive from the original home that they had bought. A source recently told 'The house is a real Grand Designs number - and it's plain that Ellen and Portia are loving it.' They added, 'Everything has been done very discreetly so it's not clear what the terms of the deal was but it seems that it has recently changed hands for not much less than they paid for their previous place. 'To buy two properties for eight figure sums in the space of a few months really is unusual, even given the many multi-millionaires around here.' The source continued, 'And at even a conservative estimate it must have cost Ellen hundreds of thousands of pounds in fees and costs to change her mind so dramatically - perhaps millions.'
