This X Post Hit 1.1 Billion Views: People Share Fascinating Lore About Themselves

Last Updated: The post about sharing lore about yourself was made on April 1. It has since racked up over a billion views and countless replies. Seen it yet? A one-line post made on X by a user asking people to share a lore about themselves has clocked 1.1 billion views. On April 1, a user, who goes by the handle @frozenaesthetic, took the Elon Musk-owned platform and wrote: 'Share a piece of lore about yourself". Folks from all around the world have since interacted with the post and continue to share bizarre facts or spectacular trivia about them that the world may not know. Before we proceed any further, here's the sneak peek at the original post. We have picked some of our favourite responses from the never-ending viral thread. Wordle A user named Steven Cravotta claimed that at 17, he created a mobile app called Wordle. He shared that the app had 100K downloads before he gave up on the project. 'It sat in my apple developer account, until in 2021 another developer named Josh (Wardle) build a web app game, also called Wordle. Josh's game went viral globally. A lot of people searching for his game went to the appstore and downloaded mine instead. A lot of other app developers tried to copy the game but Apple removed them all… except mine because it was the OG built before any other Wordle existed (sic)." 'Apple wiped out all the competition. I was the only 'Wordle" on the appstore. My little mobile app ended up being downloaded over 10M times in the span of a few weeks. It changed my life forever (sic)." Ghibli A user with handle @Johnny_suputama shared a lore from 1999-2000s when they entered the iconic Studio Ghibli in Tokyo, which wasn't open to public. The studio wasn't explicitly closed to the general public either. For the unversed, Studio Ghibli is a renowned Japanese animation studio founded by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata in 1985. The duo are considered the top-tier directors in the world of animation. 'Growing up in Tokyo I lived 15min from Studio Ghibli. One day I worked up the courage to knock and ask for a tour. They answered, were super confused but let me in, showed me around and even gave me some merch. A few weeks later, I passed by and saw a sign: 'not open to public" (sic)." The user shared that their unique experience earned them the following merch: 'I think it was a poster and postcards for their upcoming project – a little film called Spirited Away." First Foreign Trip Kaushik Subramanian, responding to the viral post, recounted a Pepsi campaign that enabled him to travel abroad for the first time in his life. 'When I was very young Pepsi was running a contest where if you found the cricket World Cup under the cap of the bottle you got an all expenses paid trip to England to watch it," the user with handle @TheHolyKau wrote before adding, 'I was on the Karnavati express to Ahmedabad for the summer holidays. Got a Pepsi on the train and lo and behold there was a World Cup under it. I ended up going to England, all expenses paid thanks to Pepsi and this is how I went abroad for the first time." Absolute Cinema Seen the Martin Scorsese meme with 'Absolute Cinema" on it? This fellow made it. The user also shared the first-ever recorded use of the meme on the Internet. I made this meme and everyone is still using it — Yash (@YashChillinn) July 9, 2025 And this sweet story about the paella emoji on your WhatsApp. When I was at WhatsApp, I changed the ingredients in the paella 🥘 emoji to match my grandma's recipe. She's no longer with us, but her paella will live (digitally) forever. — Alfonso (@alfongj) July 8, 2025 1 Billion Views 1 billion is 1000 million. This massive engagement has led many to speculate about the potential earnings the creator could receive through X's Ads Revenue Sharing program for such a highly viewed post. 1 billion views is genuinely worth around 10k in monetization lol — Basil🧡 (@LinkofSunshine) July 14, 2025 After taking over social media platform X, Musk introduced several changes, including the death of the Blue Bird and renaming Twitter to X. He also introduced subscriptions and monetisation plans to incentivise posting on the app. We quizzed Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's xAI, to estimate the potential earnings for the user who amassed the incomprehensible 1.1 billion views on a single X post. 'X does not pay creators directly for views but rather for impressions from verified (X Premium) users engaging with their content, primarily through its Ads Revenue Sharing program. Estimates suggest creators earn approximately $8–$9 per million verified impressions, so 1 billion verified impressions could yield roughly $8,000–$9,000, though actual earnings depend heavily on engagement, audience demographics, and the proportion of verified users." Grok also confirmed the post (this article is based on) may not be the most viewed post on X of all time. It revealed that a user @spizzleayyo's 'lol" registered 2 billion views. However, Grok asked us to verify its response. About the Author Anurag Verma Anurag Verma, News Editor at works independently for the Viral section. Bad news for Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Bharti as Elon Musk's Starlink Satellite internet to make entry in...., Tesla boss invests Rs 80000000000 in...

(File) Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is preparing to roll out its services in India, which may give tough competition to the existing home broadband players such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The project is being initiated in India in a huge investment of Rs 8000 crore aimed at launching 700-750 satellites in Low-Earth orbit (LEO) in the sky above India. What are the key challenges Starlink might face in the Indian market? The price may be expensive for the customer, but it may become cheaper if substantial user adoption occurs. This has the potential to disrupt existing telecom models virtually overnight. This could lead to a major shift in telecom strategies, but technological hurdles relating to direct-to-cell may stall its impact on wireless services. As yet, there haven't been any serious user complaints on Downdetector. Why is Starlink a tough competition to Jio and Airtel's broadband dominance? In a recent expert session with JM Financial, it was pointed out that Starlink satellite will be deployed at the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in India. Starlink is going to put around 700–750 LEO satellites into operation in India. Starlink plans to invest Rs 8,000 crore (USD 1 billion) in India. This equals approximately USD 1 million invested per satellite, as several media reported. In July, Elon Musk-owned satellite communication firm Starlink received clearance from the Indian space regulator, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), sources were quoted as saying by news agency ANI. In early June, Starlink was provided with license by the government to launch GMPCS (Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite) services, VSAT Services and ISP Category-A under unified license. Starlink is the third company to receive approval for satellite communication (satcom) services from the Department of Telecom, following OneWeb and Reliance Jio. Each new satellite is expected to last around 7 to 8 years. The annual cost of operating the entire system could go up to USD 350 crore.

Elon Musk-owned X is under fire over potential violation of social media laws

X outage Elon Musk-owned social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is facing regulatory action in Europe. A report has said that 9 civil society organisations have filed complaints with EU and French regulators, alleging that Musk's platform is using users' sensitive data for targeted advertising, potentially violating EU tech rules. As per a report in news agency Reuters, the organisations – AI Forensics, the Centre for Democracy and Technology Europe, Entropy, European Digital Rights, Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte e.V. (GFF), Global Witness, Panoptykon Foundation, Stichting Bits of Freedom, and VoxPublic – have submitted their complaints to the European Commission and the French media regulator Arcom this week. The group wants European Commission to investigate potential rule violations The group is urging both regulators to take action under the Digital Services Act (DSA), which explicitly prohibits advertising based on sensitive user data like religion, race and sexuality. 'We express our deep concern regarding the use by X of users' sensitive personal data for targeted advertisements,' the organisations were quoted as saying. The report says that concerns of the group arose after reviewing X's Ad Repository, a publicly accessible database mandated by the DSA. "We found that major brands as well as public and financial institutions engaged in targeted online advertising based on what appear to be special categories of personal data, protected by Article 9 of the GDPR, such as political opinions, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and health conditions,' they said. The group is calling for regulators to investigate X for these alleged breaches of the EU's data privacy law, GDPR. Earlier this year, a report said that the European Union (EU) may impose penalties on X after preliminary findings indicated violations of the DSA. The New York Times reported that the European Commission identified several areas where the platform allegedly failed to meet the DSA's standards. These included: Misuse of verified accounts, advertising transparency barriers and noncompliance with data sharing rules. AI Masterclass for Students. Upskill Young Ones Today!– Join Now

Last Updated: The EV giant, which entered India after years of negotiation with the government over tariffs and pricing, opened its first experience centre at Bandra Kurla Complex Elon Musk-owned Tesla has officially rolled into India, with the company's first showroom launched in Mumbai and the sleek Model Y already spotted sharing frame alongside the city's iconic local train. Tesla's much-anticipated India debut took a visible turn on Wednesday when the company's official X account posted a photo of the Model Y parked beside a Mumbai street, with a local train rumbling in the background. On the streets in MumbaiOrder now ➡️ — Tesla India (@Tesla_India) July 16, 2025 The EV giant, which entered India after years of negotiation with the government over tariffs and pricing, opened its first experience centre at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Tuesday. The launch was marked by the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who invited Tesla to make the state its partner for future manufacturing and R&D operations. The Model Y, Tesla's mid-sized electric SUV, is being imported as a completely built unit (CBU) from China. Prices start at Rs 59.89 lakh for the rear-wheel drive variant and Rs 67.89 lakh for the long-range version. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2025 in select cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram. Tesla said customers in India can customise their vehicle through its Design Studio, choosing exterior colours, interiors, and feature packages. The car boasts a range of up to 622 km on a single charge. Tesla's India plans include setting up charging infrastructure, service support, and more experience centres. Four charging stations are expected each in Mumbai and Delhi as part of the initial rollout. This India launch comes amid Tesla's global challenges, including slowing sales in Europe and China. The company is also under pressure to find new markets, and India — the world's third-largest car market — fits the bill.
