Emily Blunt Debuts Her Most Dramatic Hair Transformation in Almost 20 Years
Shelovesherjob, shelovesherjob, Gist Emily Blunt was spotted on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 with a fire engine red lob. She wore a black outfit with a white Dior shirt. Blunt previously debuted lighter red hair while arriving on set for the Blunt has finally made an appearance on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2—and she is serving some serious 2006 nostalgia with her brand new hair. The actress, who played Emily, Miranda's snappy, domineering assistant in the original film, made an appearance looking—well—pretty much exactly the same. In the photos, Blunt rocked a bright red lob in a center part with a gentle wave. Blunt had previously been pictured arriving on set with a slightly lighter, more natural shade of red. As for Blunt's costume, it was also spot on for the character. She rocked a pair of corseted black and white pinstripe pants with a branded white Dior shirt and a corset vest top. She carried a large black handbag and donned a pair of black oval sunglasses. In other words, she looked just as formidable and fashion-forward as ever. Blunt's appearance on set follows a number of buzzy sightings of other cast members on the streets of New York. Anne Hathaway has been seen filming the sequel in a number of Andy Sachs looks—a gray suit with a $15,000 necklace and a navy shirt dress with an unusual red vest, to name a few. Meryl Streep has also made a return as the infamous Miranda Priestly, complete with her iconic sleek silver bob. Not much is known about the much-anticipated sequel yet—other than the looks, of course. We can hazard a guess that Blunt is having a ball on set. After all, back in 2022, before the sequel was confirmed, Blunt said in an interview on The View that she 'would do [a sequel] in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again." Keep your eyes peeled for more BTS pics—because Blunt teased that her daughters Hazel and Violet might be heading to the set for a visit. Are BTS clips ruining our movie viewing experience?
Photos of (L-R) Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway & Meryl Streep have flooded social media from The Devil Wears Prada 2 shoot in NYC In 2006, The Devil Wears Prada captivated audiences with its fresh, unspoiled charm. Now, as The Devil Wears Prada 2 shoots in New York, set photos of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are already flooding social media. This has prompted fans on X to lament the loss of surprise. What was once a stylish spectacle unveiled in the theatre is now pre-digested content. This flood of behind-the-scenes (BTS) material raises a larger question: is the magic of cinema being eroded by its own marketing machine? The chroma key problem Visual-effects-heavy films also suffer from overexposure. Dune (2021) used sand-colored 'sandscreens' instead of green to better match Arrakis's lighting. Deadpool & Wolverine relied on blue screens for multiverse sequences. Despite Marvel's usual misdirection, leaks of green screen footage dulled the impact of big reveals. Fans on social media stress that the illusion of epic scale can't survive if audiences have already seen the BTS BTS snap from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning BTS or on-screen magic: What's more important? 'It's cool to know that Tom Cruise did the stunts himself' In Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Tom Cruise performed 16 parachute jumps. But a BTS featurette released pre-film spoiled the moment for many. 'It's not cool because it's a surprise — it's cool because he's actually doing the stunt,' said one Redditor, though others felt the reveal deepened their appreciation. The illusion of drama unraveled Emotional peaks are dulled by early reveals. Eshan Bose, an action movie fan from Kolkata, feels the tension is gone. 'When you already know how the stunt's done, it kills the moment. You admire the logistics, not feel the thrill,' he says. Aratrick Bhadra, a budding filmmaker, disagrees. 'Cinema isn't ruined by spoilers — it's elevated by curiosity,' he explains.

'The Devil Wears Prada 2' Lookbook: Emily Blunt & Stanley Tucci's On-Set Styles
NEW YORK, NY – JULY 29: Emily Blunt is seen filming scenes at The Devil Wears Prada 2 set in Hudson Yards, Manhattan on July 29, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images) Not-so-new faces have arrived on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 , which began filming on the streets of New York City this July. Though its premiere is nearly a year away (set to release May 1, 2026), we are getting teasers galore — and eager fans like ourselves have been spellbound by the stylish looks we've seen thus far! The highly anticipated returning cast members Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci were captured sporting classic Runway office attire, as they appeared on set yesterday alongside costars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Dior on Day One NEW YORK, NY – JULY 29: Emily Blunt is seen on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on July 29, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by BG048/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images) It would hardly be The Devil Wears Prada without carefully curated ensembles — intentional from red heads to pointed toes. Returning to her role as Emily Charlton, the anxious assistant to Miranda Priestly — who once showed newcomer Andy Sachs the ropes of dress — Emily Blunt looked both sophisticated and chic, sporting an on-trend pair of rounded Christian Dior sunnies. It's no wonder her modern-day accessorization is simultaneously bold and understated; this combination defined Blunt's officewear in the 2006 film. She's informed on exclusive, high-brow fashion, yet at the same time, she feels as though she has something to prove (hence a designer logo that can't be missed). Photo Credit: 20th Century Studios Nearly 20 years ago, Blunt mused in similar styles — promising, dependable silhouettes, brought up to Priestly-par with adventurous patterns and statement accessories. A consistent look is essential to building a strong character identity, with her fiery locks bringing it home. (Photo by XNY/Star Max/GC Images) Below the bob was a look fusing office chic with everyday aesthetics: a corseted top, also by Dior, made business-appropriate with a collared shirt layered underneath, and paired with matching pinstripe slacks. The name-brand theme persisted as the star was spotted carrying a black tote by the French house, realistically-sized for a fashion-filled workday. Tucci in Tailoring NEW YORK, NY – JULY 29: Stanley Tucci is seen on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on July 29, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by XNY/Star Max/GC Images) Stanley Tucci, known to Runway magazine as Nigel, stepped out on set yesterday with a fierce first look. The editorial authority and Priestly-confidant is often spotted in suited ensembles and rounded glasses. His consistency is not surprising; instead, it's characteristic. Sleek plaid married warm hues of browns, burgundy, and beiges, balanced by a striped baby-blue collared shirt. (Photo by Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images) If the past few weeks are any indication, fans are now well-versed on the themes that will define Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly's contemporary wardrobes. Hathaway stunned in yet another oversized menswear look, with a dark-toned palette akin to her first day back on set. A touch of pearls around the neck emphasized notes of refined elegance and luxe accessorizing. (Photo by GC Images) Streep went for a monochrome style on July 29, donning a heather gray co-ord with a midi skirt and oversized blazer. The squared, cat-eye shades could not be left behind. The star of the show was adorned with stacked silver jewels — and we are living for the minimal silver hoops and thin wristwatch, offset by a chunky chain bangle and matching necklace. As filming continues, we expect more styles to be served up across the City streets — and we can guarantee that Patricia Field has even more era-defining looks up her sleeve.

Emily Blunt Has Returned to Red Hair for The Devil Wears Prada 2
The way we feel as we keep getting sneak peeks of the looks from The Devil Wears Prada 2 must be how Miranda Priestly's twins felt when they got the manuscript for the yet-to-be-published Harry Potter book: like we absolutely shouldn't be seeing this yet, but we so deserve this treat. And now, after seeing Anne Hathaway as Andy in multiple designer ensembles and Meryl Streep wearing Miranda's iconic short hairstyle, we're now getting a good look at Emily Blunt's return to her breakout role. And while the snarky, no-nonsense Emily is not still Miranda's assistant, new photos reveal she's definitely still a redhead. Even more memorable than Blunt's outfits in the original Devil Wears Prada film was, arguably, her hair. The intense shade of auburn—just a smidge warmer than burgundy—worked so well for her smoldering-just-beneath-the-surface attitude. And at the time, Blunt had actually dyed her hair for the role, as evidenced in photos taken of her in the year leading up to the film's 2006 release. But while we can't know for sure if Blunt has dyed her hair again or if she's opted for a very good wig, we have confirmation that Emily is still committed to that cranberry color. On Tuesday, July 29, Blunt was spotted with Hathaway, Streep, and Stanley Tucci (yay!) while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 near Hudson Yards in New York City, and while she was smiling more than Emily has been known to, her character was immediately recognizable. She wore a corsetted, pinstriped set over a crisp, white shirt, carrying an oversized bag and oval sunglasses—all Dior. And the black and white served as a perfect contrast to her vivid red, center-parted lob. Although her hair is still very Emily, it has been completely updated to feel very much 20-year-later: less 'done,' more natural, but still totally editorial. And we can't wait to see this color in motion on the big screen. Emily Blunt dyes her brown hair a ravishing red in first sighting on The Devil Wears Prada 2 set
Emily Blunt cut and dyed her brunette locks a ravishing red in her first sighting on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in Manhattan's West Side on Tuesday. The British 42-year-old had a deeper burgundy shade when she originated the role of Emily Charlton, the beleaguered senior assistant of Runway Magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in the 2006 film. Emily exited the 10 Hudson Yards building wearing a white Dior blouse beneath a black pinstripe corseted top, matching wide-leg trousers, and pumps selected by costume designer Molly Rogers. It marks the second time Rogers replaced her Oscar-nominated mentor Patricia Field on a high-profile project following HBO Max's Sex and the City continuation, And Just Like That. Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna returned to adapt Lauren Weisberger's 2013 novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns set a decade later. In the book, Emily teams up with her former co-worker Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) to create the successful aspirational wedding magazine, The Plunge, which Miranda wants to acquire for her own publishing company.
