Heartbreaking Sarah update in Emmerdale ITVX release as complications arise

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Utterly devastating scenes aired in tonight's episode of Emmerdale, as Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) was told she can no longer carry a child. Sarah has spent the majority of this week feeling hopeful about her future. After agreeing to Jacob Gallagher's (Joe-Warren Plant) idea of being her sperm donor for the IVF, Sarah felt excited about her next steps. All she had to do was get her operation out of the way following her cervical cancer diagnosis, and she'd be ready to completely focus on her IVF journey and dream of being a mum. As Sarah prepared herself for the operation, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) arrived, ready to support her. The two characters ended up having a really moving conversation about their connection. Sarah called Charity strong, and said she's been a better mum to her than her actual mother Debbie, who now lives in Australia. As lovely as it was, things quickly changed when the IVF was brought up. Sarah spotted the look on Charity's face, and realised that she still didn't think her plan was a good idea. In Charity's eyes, Sarah had barely thought about motherhood. Yes, she had imagined how lovely it would be to bring a child into the world but according to Charity, Sarah hadn't thought about the stress her body would be put through, and the relentless challenges that come with looking after a small human. The argument was not resolved, unfortunately, as Sarah was wheeled away to theatre in the middle of their clash. While she waited, Charity became consumed with guilt over the row, and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) of all people did his best to make her feel better. Moments later, Sarah's surgeon arrived to reveal some news. As Sarah woke up, Charity and Cain stood beside the bed as she was told a complication occurred during surgery. EastEnders legend needed time off after she was left 'exhausted'

EastEnders star Michelle Collins has admitted she felt 'exhausted' following a lengthy storyline with her soap character, and needed some time off as a result. The actress returned to her role as Cindy Beale in 2023 in a massive twist. It was believed that Cindy died during childbirth back in 1998, but she had actually been living undercover. With that period of her life coming to an end, Cindy was told she could move back to England if she wanted. She chose to do so, moving back into the Beale household with Ian (Adam Woodyatt), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Peter (Thomas Law). What followed next was a long narrative that saw Cindy lie through her teeth practically every day. After we learnt about Cindy's connection to the Knight family, she started an affair with Junior (Micah Balfour), the son of her ex-husband. The affair was revealed in spectacular fashion on Christmas Day in 2024. The episode ended with Cindy getting hit over the head with a shovel, with Kathy later being confirmed as the culprit. In February of this year, Cindy left to stay with old friend Gita. In reality, this tied in with Michelle Collins' new theatre show, and it also allowed her to have some much needed down time. The star recently opened up about this, admitting that she felt a bit 'exhausted with Cindy'. Speaking during today's episode of This Morning, Michelle said: 'They gave me a bit of time off, you get a bit exhausted. I get a bit exhausted with Cindy, I needed some time off. I love playing her. She's unapologetic, a lawbreaker, bold and you just never know what she's going to do next. 'She's dysfunctional and interesting, but also kind of passionate and vulnerable. All those things are great to play as an actor.' Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Cindy returned a few weeks ago and faced quite a lot of angry faces as she got back. She had to confront multiple Walford residents impacted by the Queen Vic explosion in February, which only happened as a result of Cindy pushing Ian in front of a car. More Trending She also ended up helping Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) through her labour. Michelle said: 'Even if somebody were to say to Cindy, 'I don't like you' she would think she would be able to change their minds. She also has unconditional love for her kids. 'Granted, she may not be the perfect mum, but she is still their mum and she has fought for her kids a lot over the years.'
