Ybrahim's cause of death revealed in 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre'
"Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" finally revealed the cause of death of Ybrahim (Ruru Madrid). The King of Sapiro passed away earlier in the series, but there no explanation for it. Now, Encantadiks finally got the answer: he died of a broken heart. Monday's episode showed Ybrahim mourning Amihan (Kylie Padilla), who died in the 2016 "Encantandia." Overwhelmed by grief, the King of Sapiro fell into a slump—neglecting his people and retreating into the shadows. His people, along with Imaw, urged him to breathe new life into Sapiro by siring an heir who will take the throne after him. But Ybrahim could only cry out in despair. The king said he already has a child—Lira (Mikee Quintos), his daughter by Amihan. However, the princess was part of the succession of Lireo, a duty she already declined. "Kailangan ng Sapiro anak na kikilalanin nito. Rehav, iyan ang pamanang iiwan mo sa lahat ng iyong nasasakupan," Imaw said. "Binawi sa akin ng Bathala ang aking kaligayan, kung kaya't hayaan natin siya ang pumili kung sino ang babaeng magdadala ng pag-asa sa Sapiro," Ybrahim answered. Alarmed by Ybrahim's desperation, Imaw asked Bathalumang Emre to send Ybrahim the rightful woman who will stand as the Queen of Sapiro. With the help of a retre, Sapiro found a new queen in Ybrahim's former flame Alena (Gabbi Garcia) who gave birth to their daughter Armea (Ysabel Ortega). As Armea became the heir of Sapiro, Alena abandoned her post as the queen of Lireo to be a mother, Ybrahim's wife, and the Queen of Sapiro. Despite it all, Sapiro remained in despair, as Ybrahim continued to grieve the loss of his great love. Clutching a miniature figure of Amihan, a tearful Ybrahim retreated into the darkness, confessing that he was tired of pretending to be happy. As he voiced his regrets for himself, his daughters, and Alena, Ybrahim pleaded with Emre to let him let go of everything and be reunited with Amihan. "Amihan, handa na ako," he said and hugged the figure tightly. With these final words, a blinding light enveloped Ybrahim, who quietly and peacefully passed away on the throne. Glaiza De Castro, Gabby Eigenmann share their reaction to character deaths
How did Glaiza De Castro and Gabby Eigenmann react after finding out about the major deaths that would happen in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre?" The Kapuso stars were asked the question on Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," mentioning the fall of Lira, Mira, Ybrahim, and Cassandra, as well as netizens' saddened reactions. Gabby, whose character (Zaur) killed Mira, admitted that upon reading the script, he knew that viewers wouldn't be pleased with what he had to do. "Bago lang ako sa 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.' It's my first time eh. So when I was reading the script, I was like, oh, I knew that people would probably hate me, lalo na 'yung mga Encantadiks," Gabby said. But Gabby said that he was fine with it. "Hindi ko naman alam 'yung nangyari noon eh. But these are loved characters from way before eh," he said. Glaiza admitted that she felt nervous when she found out what would happen in the series. "Sa totoo lang, kinakabahan ako, kasi minahal ng mga tao 'yung mga characters nila Lira at Mira. At bilang Pirena din, sobrang mahal ko 'yung dalawang 'yon kasi ang dami pong eksena na magkakasama kaming tatlo," she said. Glaiza said she had already wondered how the viewers would react to the characters' deaths and that she had expected their disapproving reactions. "Pero that also means na mahal na mahal nila 'yung characters and gano'n sila ka-invested sa kuwento ng Encantadia for them to parang defend din 'yung mga characters na minahal nila nung 2016 up to now. 'Di ba? So parang I guess it's a positive thing din na people are very affected," she said. "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs weeknights on GMA Network at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." Faith Da Silva on 'Sang'gre's success: 'More than the ratings, it's the movement and impact'
Faith Da Silva could not hide her joy over the success that is "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" ever since the series made its premiere on GMA Prime in the past week. According to Lhar Santiago's report in "24 Oras" Wednesday, it feels surreal for the Sparkle star knowing there are many Encantadiks tuning in the show with them. "More than the ratings it's the movement and the impact, na nararamdaman ko talaga kung gaano ka--excited 'yung mga Encantadiks natin kasi ako, Bianca, Angel, Kelvin, at Rhian, we all watched in the same area," she said. "It just felt surreal to think about ilang tao din 'yung kasabay namin na napapanood siya for the very first time," she added. It can be remembered that the cast and crew of "Sang'gre" held a watch party as the series made its premiere on June 16. The epic and goosebumps-inducing pilot episode earned high praise from viewers and led the primetime ratings for June 16, earning a combined rating of 13.7 from GMA and GTV channels, according to preliminary data from the Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) People Ratings. Faith's character, Flamarra, as well as Deia (Angel Guardian) and Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), the new keepers of the gems of fire, air, and water, will also be seen more frequently in "Sang'gre's" episodes, per the report. "Sa unang paglabas namin siguro ang madidistinguish niyo dun is 'yung kakaibang character namin sa element namin at kung papaano kami pinalaki ng aming mga magulang. Kasi ako galing ako sa Hathoria at Punjabwe, so kung paano ba binago ng buong pamilya 'yung isang firekeeper kumbaga," she shared. Aside from "Sang'gre," Faith is also gearing up for the premiere of "Stars on the Floor" on June 28. She is among the Kapuso celebrities who will be joining the dance show, alongside Glaiza De Castro, Rodjun Cruz, Thea Astley, and VXON member Patrick. "Stars on the Floor" will be hosted by Alden Richards with Marian Rivera, Pokwang and SB19 choreographer Coach Jay serving as the judges. Meanwhile, "Sang'gre" airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." —CDC, GMA Integrated News
