Taylor Swift drops huge collaboration hint after announcing new album The Life of a Showgirl

Taylor Swift's 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is on the way, and fans believe the star has dropped a huge hint as to who may feature on the album with a cryptic Spotify playlist A huge hint has been shared by pop sensation Taylor Swift after announcing her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The release comes just two years after the release of The Tortured Poets Department, which prompted a massive world tour from Swift. Details of the album are yet to be shared by the Grammy Award winner, but a huge hint has been dropped by the singer. ‌ While fans eagerly await a release date for the album, they believe a new Spotify playlist holds the key to unlocking a massive The Life of a Showgirl secret. The album seems to have been made without the help of frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. ‌ Swift has, if the hint is to be believed, worked with Max Martin and Shellback for the first time since 2017. Antonoff had produced Swift's previous album, as well as efforts from Lana Del Ray and Lorde, but has not been brought back for The Life of a Showgirl. ‌ Hints as to Martin and Shellback producing Swift's upcoming album come from a Spotify playlist featured on her page. In the playlist are 22 of the songs she and Martin made together, with hits like Bad Blood, End Game, and I Knew You Were Trouble appearing in a playlist titled "And, baby, that's show business for you." ‌ A red heart on fire emoji is also used at the end of the title. The hour and 22 minute long playlist has sent fans into a frenzy, with many taking to social media platform X as they figure out what the playlist could mean. One fan was thrilled by the playlist, writing: "Back in her pop star s***, no more ringtones." Another added: "Y'all have no idea how happy this makes me!!!!! A third remarked: "I love her and Jack, but I've been ready for her to mix up producers a bit to push her sound in a different direction." ‌ And a fourth added: "A full pop album? This is going to jam for real." Not everyone was excited by the apparent Martin and Swift collaboration though. One listener fumed: "Her worst album is on the way." ‌ Others believe the number of songs featured on the playlist is a hint at how many songs may feature on The Life of a Showgirl, though this has not been confirmed. One fan suggested: "Twenty two songs on The Life of a Showgirl?" Swift's previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, featured 35 songs across its extended editions and various vinyl prints. Swifties are no doubt excited to learn more about the album, which marks Swift's 12th studio release. Fans have since crashed Swift's website when searching for more information on the album. Taylor's official social media team, Taylor Nation, waited twelve minutes before posting a series of pictures. All the photos were of Taylor performing at the Eras Tour wearing orange. "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…' [fiery heart emoji]," the post was captioned.

Will Blake Lively ever cheer for Travis Kelce again? Taylor Swift's NFL game days may no longer include her former best friend

Will Blake Lively ever cheer for Travis Kelce again with Taylor Swift (Getty Images) Taylor Swift may be dominating the global stage with her record-breaking Eras Tour and fairy-tale romance with NFL star Travis Kelce , but behind the scenes, she's quietly closed the chapter on one of her most publicized friendships. Sources close to Swift confirm that her once-close bond with actress Blake Lively has suffered a dramatic and possibly permanent fracture, thanks to the fallout from a $400 million legal battle involving It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni . Blake Lively's texts and legal tactics reportedly crossed Swift's boundaries It all started with a lawsuit in which Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation. In response, Baldoni countersued, accusing Lively of defamation—and in a shocking twist, pulled Taylor Swift directly into the fray. In court filings, a text from Lively referred to Swift and Ryan Reynolds as her 'dragons,' likening herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. That metaphor may have played well on paper, but to Swift, it was a red flag. 'Taylor buries hatchets but keeps maps of where she put them, remember?' a source told Page Six, referencing Swift's lyric from End Game. 'She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin.' What hurt most, insiders claim, was the implication that Swift had ever been used as a strategic pawn in Lively's legal fight—something Swift reportedly never signed up for. A friendship rooted in shared fame, not fierce loyalty While Swift and Lively once appeared inseparable—attending Chiefs games together, bonding over home decor, and vacationing in private luxury—their connection was less about emotional reliance and more about shared lifestyle. 'They were baking pals, travel pals, home decor pals… and to be totally honest, billionaire pals,' the insider added. Notably, Swift didn't publicly support It Ends With Us, despite licensing her song 'My Tears Ricochet' to the film. That silence now appears telling. 'The damage Justin did by revealing those texts… is lasting and probably permanent,' said the source. As she celebrates the $360 million buyback of her master recordings and continues her whirlwind relationship with Travis Kelce, Swift seems to be prioritizing authenticity over alliances. The once-envied friendship between Swift and Lively may now be just another entry in Swift's lyrical vault—one that, like so many of her hits, is born from betrayal and destined for poetic closure. Also Read: "The friendship is done': Taylor Swift unlikely to forgive Blake Lively after betrayal, Travis Kelce now her source of loyalty Blake Lively's days of cheering beside Taylor Swift at Kansas City Chiefs games may be over. Following their explosive fallout tied to a $400 million lawsuit, insiders say Swift has cut ties—leaving no room for Lively in her NFL world. Kylie Kelce revealed that Taylor Swift's name works like magic for the Philadelphia audience Travis Kelce's sister-in-law, the former football coach Kylie Kelce, revealed that she is a big-time Taylor Swift fan. During the latest episode of her podcast with Ed Sheeran, Kylie shared that the 14-time Grammy-winning singer is her cheat code to gain applause from the Philadelphia audience. During a conversation with Ed Sheeran on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kylie asked him about a moment in his career when he received the most applause, to which the Shape of You singer replied that the unforgettable moment took place in 2013 when Eminem was present at his concert. He explained that the rapper worked like a 'cheat code" for him to receive the loudest cheers. Ed Sheeran then went on to ask host Kylie about her 'cheat code," and without even thinking twice, Travis' sister-in-law replied, 'Taylor," who worked like magic for the Philadelphia audience. She further added that it is 'home" for the Karma crooner, to which Sheeran said, 'It would be Taylor anywhere." The Photograph singer then went on to remember the time when he and Taylor went on a tour together and admitted that Taylor Swift's presence anywhere is enough for the crowd to erupt in loud cheers. He further explained that they have known each other for a long time and share a great bond with the Love Story singer. The duo also collaborated on various music projects, including Taylor's hit track End Game from her widely acclaimed album Reputation. The Sapphire crooner further clarified that he and Taylor often hang out, as he said, 'I probably see her, like, four times a year…and have proper sit-down, six-hour catch-ups." Ed Sheeran Has Finally Confirmed What He Was Singing About On Taylor Swift's 2017 Song 'End Game'

Any Swiftie would know that Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are not just incredibly close friends, they are also longtime collaborators who have delivered us more than a few bops over the years. There is 'Everything Has Changed' from Taylor's 2012 album, Red, their 'The Joker And The Queen' collab that was released in 2022, and, of course, 'End Game,' which also features the rapper Future and was released on Taylor's 2017 album, Reputation, to name a few. Related: 'End Game' is perhaps one of Taylor's most surprising songs stylistically, as it incorporates elements of pop rap and R&B, with the lyrics about falling in love with somebody despite one another's perceived reputations. In Ed's verse, he sings: 'I've made mistakes, and made some choices that's hard to deny / After the storm, something was born on the Fourth of July / I've passed days without fun, this endgame is the one / With four words on the tip of my tongue I'll never say.' Related: And last week, a TikToker made a video to Ed's lyrics as they questioned what the 'four words' mentioned were. 'What are the four words on the top of Ed Sheeran's tongue that he will never say,' the social media user captioned the video. And lo and behold, Ed himself popped up in the comments to set the record straight once and for all. Related: Perhaps unsurprisingly to many, Ed confirmed that the 'four words' were 'will you marry me,' but he also clarified that the second half of that lyric is actually supposed to lead into Taylor's part that comes immediately after, where she sings: 'I don't wanna touch you.' 'The 'il never say' leads in to the next bit. As in - il never say 'I don't wanna touch you,'' Ed's comment begins. 'And the four words are 'will you marry me' which obvz happened with chez shortly after this song came out.' In case you didn't know, Chez is Ed's now-wife Cherry Seaborn, who he proposed to in December 2017. The two actually first met as schoolkids and were childhood friends before drifting apart in adulthood. Related: They ended up reuniting in 2015, when Ed was on tour and Cherry was working in Manhattan. However, they didn't officially start dating until Ed took Cherry to one of Taylor's infamous Fourth of July parties at her Rhode Island home later that same year. "I was texting [Cherry], and she was like: 'I'm in Rhode Island at a 4th of July party,' and I was like' 'So am I,'" Ed previously told People, "I kinda said to Taylor: 'Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?' The rest is history." And suddenly, Ed's 'End Game' lyric: 'Something was born on the Fourth of July' all makes sense, with his and Cherry's romance also referenced earlier in the verse, where Ed sings: 'Knew her when I was young / Reconnected when we were a little bit older.' Taylor later surprised Ed and Cherry by marking their first anniversary at her 2016 Fourth of July party, and the happy couple ended up getting married in 2019 before welcoming two daughters together.
