Wednesday season 2 theory 'seals' Enid's heartbreaking death

A new trailer for the second season of Netflix's Wednesday has revealed that the fate of Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) hangs in the balance - and it's all down to Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) The second season of 'Wednesday' is set to premiere on Netflix on August 6, and the latest trailer reveals a chilling psychic vision experienced by Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega. ‌ In her vision, she sees the grave of her best friend and roommate, Enid Sinclair (played by Emma Myers), and shockingly, it seems that Wednesday is to blame for her demise. ‌ "Enid dies, and it's all my fault," she is heard uttering. With Enid's life hanging in the balance, Wednesday is thrust into a race against time to save her. ‌ Following the release of this heart-wrenching trailer, fans have flocked to Reddit to speculate whether Enid will indeed meet her end. Reddit user Mishtimihu theorises that Wednesday's foreknowledge of Enid's potential fate will "really mess with her", leading to a rift between the two friends, reports the Express. They elaborated: "My theory is that she gets this vision early in the season and it really messes with her. She doesn't tell Enid right away because she's scared and trying to figure it out on her own. She starts pulling away, thinking maybe she's the cause of Enid's future death. "Enid notices. She was excited to see Wednesday after the break, but Wednesday acts distant and cold. Feeling rejected and confused, Enid starts getting closer to Bruno, who's just there for her. And yeah, he looks a lot like Wednesday, which makes the whole situation more complicated. "Eventually, probably near the end of Part 1, they have a fight. Enid calls her out for shutting her out. And that's when Wednesday finally tells her about the vision. Maybe not even on purpose, she just blurts it out during the argument. Something like, 'I saw your grave. I thought I'd get you killed if I stayed close'. ‌ "Enid's hurt. Not just about the vision, but because Wednesday didn't trust her with it sooner. She walks away. Then the part ends on a cliffhanger, possibly with something off about Bruno that raises questions." ItsThe_____ForMe proposed that Enid's destiny will likely serve as the dramatic cliffhanger bridging the first and second parts of the series. ‌ Raylalayla contributed: "I think that's probably mostly right. Enid will either die or find out about her incoming death in episode 4 and I also think that's when Tyler might escape." Fellow viewer Icy_Gene_7574 theorised that Wednesday's dark tears shown in the trailer represent her grief over Enid's demise. Speculation has emerged that the black tears vision relates to emotional turmoil, with one fan explaining: "As for Enid, if she passes away it would all be Wednesday's fault cause Wednesday is the one who cracks cases and solves mysteries and she drags Enid. I think that's why she cries black tears for Enid."

‘Wednesday' Season 2 Trailer Teases Grim Threat For Emma Myers' Enid

With a new season comes new woes, and it all boils down to a central focus in Wednesday Season 2. The latest trailer for the highly anticipated sequel sees Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams as a celebrated, albeit reluctant, hero of Nevermore Academy, but her job is far from done. The stakes are higher than ever, too — the character now has to rescue her roommate and best friend, Enid (Emma Myers, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder), from impending doom. 'I know what those tears mean. What do you see?' asks Wednesday's mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones, No Reservations) in the trailer, after witnessing black tears streaking down Wednesday's face. 'Enid dies and it's all my fault,' the younger Addams says later, before the scene cuts to a vision of her standing in a graveyard. As a tombstone appears with 'In memory of Enid Sinclair', Wednesday finds Enid's hands wrapped around her throat and shouting, 'I died because of you!', reinforcing her commitment to save Enid, 'or die trying'. The macabre tone is sprinkled amid lighter, slice-of-life moments, including the character's interaction with Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi, Reservoir Dogs), her attempts to grapple with her newfound popularity, and the introduction of a new group of fangirls. 'Wednesday Addams, returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem,' reads the official logline for Wednesday Season 2. 'Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.' The sophomore season will mark the return of Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride) in the director's chair, with Ortega also serving as producer on the project. Alongside Ortega, Myers, and Zeta-Jones, returning series regulars include Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Deputy Santiago. Joining them are notable new additions like Buscemi, Billie Piper, Lady Gaga, and Noah B. Taylor. Wednesday Season 2 is scheduled for a two-part release: 6 August for the first half, and 3 September for the remaining episodes.

Wednesday Addams Sees Her Best Friend Die in Chilling Season 2 Trailer and It's Her Fault

Wednesday Addams is back, and she's more legendary, more famous, and more cursed than ever. Netflix just dropped the trailer for Season 2 of Wednesday, and it's everything the fans could want: more creatures, more gothic drama, more murder, and yes, even more mascara-running tears. But as always in the Addams' universe, the fun doesn't come without a sprinkle of tragedy. The trailer starts with Jenna Ortega's Wednesday returning to Nevermore Academy, not just as a student but as a full-fledged legend. Having saved the school from destruction in the Season 1 finale, she's now being hailed as a dark messiah. Her classmates flock to her like she's a rock star. One student desperately requests her autograph, which she grants, but only in blood. Naturally. Her dormitory is plastered with disturbing fan art, black-and-white sketches of her morose mug turned iconography. Even Nevermore's new headmaster, Principal Barry Dort, played by none other than Steve Buscemi, calls her 'the savior of Nevermore.' Yes, it's that kind of show. Horror, camp, and teen angst all blended together in a delightfully grotesque brew. But fame comes at a price, and for Wednesday, that price might be her roommate's life. In a dark new twist of fate, Wednesday experiences a haunting premonition: Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), her bubbly werewolf BFF, is dead… and it's all Wednesday's fault. The moment is characterized by black tears flowing down her face, tears that would otherwise kill if they weren't foretelling the death of someone. The emotional stakes are clear. In spite of her deadpan exterior, Wednesday has grown attached to Enid, whose rainbow-hued sweaters and limitless optimism once clashed so savagely with her gothic soul. Season 2 appears poised to rip that dynamic apart or at least test it to its bloody breaking point. The rest of the trailer teases what audiences actually showed up for: creepy, kooky carnage. New creatures, gothic enigmas, cryptic rites, figures lurking in the woods, and a masquerade ball that seems to have been dressed by the fever dreams of Edgar Allan Poe. Add a haunting needle drop of 'The Phantom of the Opera' on pipe organ, and we're in Tim Burton country. And that musical choice, could it portend what we want it to? There have been whispers for months that Lady Gaga will be guest-starring in Season 2, and the musical intro only fuels the black-flamed speculation. The trailer's invocation of Phantom of the Opera is either a red herring or a huge screaming hint that a musical episode might be on the cards. And with the gothic splendor of Wednesday's universe, there's no better setting to host a macabre musical meltdown. Fans are already conjuring up a Gaga-Wednesday duet that sets Nevermore on fire. Season 1 of Wednesday was a pop culture phenomenon. It became the second most-watched show on Netflix of all time, second only to Squid Game. Ortega was nominated for a Best Actress in a Comedy Emmy, and the show was nominated for Best Comedy. And who could forget that TikTok dance? Wednesday's rigid, dead-eyed dance to The Cramps' 'Goo Goo Muck' was a global obsession, covered by everyone from SNL to Drag Race queens. With expectations that lofty, can Season 2 top it? The stakes are certainly higher. Emotional stakes. Life-or-death stakes. Possibly even stakes through the heart. In addition to Ortega and Myers, Season 2 brings back stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, and Isaac Ordonez, among others. New faces include Billie Piper, Noah Taylor, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, with even more enigmatic entanglements awaiting at Nevermore. If the trailer is any indication, Tim Burton has doubled down on what fans loved most: high gothic style, pitch-black humor, and the deeply strange heart that beats under all the grave dirt. Wednesday Season 2 premieres this August on Netflix, with no date set just yet. To tide us over, though, Netflix has released the first six minutes of Season 2 for early viewing, a tasty amuse-bouche before the main course of chaos. So whether you're watching for the monsters, the murder, the musical prospects, or another classic Ortega eye-roll, one thing is certain: Wednesday Addams is ready to ruin your summer. And you're going to love every bloody second. The New ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Trailer Is All About Suffering From Success

Netflix has finally released the official trailer for its popular Tim Burton Addams Family spin-off series, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. If you need a reminder of the chaos and drama from season 1, we've got you covered. However, the official trailer for season 2 of Wednesday assumes you remember everything that happened back in 2022, and are ready to see the titular sardonic teenager thrown back into the action. In the trailer, we see Wednesday return to Nevermore Academy, only this time she's become the most popular girl in school, thanks to her saving the school from doom in the first season—a new claim to fame she's visibly struggling with. If that weren't enough, Wednesday now must prevent a deadly prophecy that'll claim her roommate Enid Sinclair's life. Alongside returning stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, and Luis Guzmán, the official trailer also gave us a glimpse of Steve Buscemi as the newest addition to Wednesday's cast, playing Nevermore's principal. Interspersed in the trailer are clips of the rest of the Addams family pitching in to help Wednesday prevent certain doom for her friend, Wednesday placing traps to prevent her adoring public from encroaching on her private life, as well as Wednesday being haunted by nightmares of Enid cursing her for not saving her. Other than that, the trailer is filled with other spooky things like zombies, werewolves, and cloaked cultists who are sure to make Wednesday's time at Nevermore all the more stressful. You know, the usual school things. One person of note who wasn't showcased in the new Wednesday trailer was Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who was announced with great fanfare to be a part of the season 2 cast. While her role in the show has been kept under wraps, it'll be interesting to see how the multi-time award-winning songstress will mesh into Wednesday's world. For now, we'll always have her TikTok Wednesday dance and her live 'Abracadabra' performance with Ortega in tow for Netflix's recent Tudum event. Following the trend of major Netflix shows such as The Witcher, Sandman, and Stranger Things, the second season of Wednesday will also be divided into two parts. The first part of Wednesday Season 2 is scheduled for release on August 6th, while the second part will be available on the streaming platform on September 3rd. Want more io9 news?
