Adrian Dunbar says people 'jumped to conclusions' about KNEECAP
The Line of Duty star recently attended a KNEECAP show with his daughter, of which he said, 'We had a great time. ' Enniskillen-born actor Adrian Dunbar has said people 'jumped to conclusions' about KNEECAP, after the band's Glastonbury set was not broadcast live on the BBC due to editorial concerns around impartiality. In an interview yesterday with the Times Radio show Off Air with Jane & Fi, Dunbar was asked if the BBC was wrong to not livestream KNEECAP's Glastonbury performance in June. 'I think that's a question for the BBC, not for me,' Dunbar said. 'But I do think that everybody got too heated about them. I think everybody jumped to conclusions about them. I think they're a band of good musicians. They make great music. They're promoting the Irish language. Very clear about who they support and who they don't support.' The Line Of Duty star recently attended a KNEECAP gig with his daughter, as reported in an interview with The Times, where he called the rap trio 'an amazing act' and said 'they've caught the zeitgeist. But they're good people and conscientious people.' At Glastonbury, KNEECAP led a 'fuck Keir Starmer' chant in response to the UK Prime Minister's vocal opposition to their presence at the festival. Their set was not broadcast live on the BBC, reportedly due to editorial concerns around impartiality. The Avon and Somerset Police launched a criminal investigation into video and audio from the set, which the band said had no legal basis and was a targeted attack for their activism. Last month, it was announced that no further action was to be taken in the investigation. KNEECAP have faced a series of gig cancellations and criticism for their outspoken activism for Palestine. They were dropped from the lineup of the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow, the host city of the Rock-en-Seine festival withdrew its funding for the event due to its booking of the band and most recently, Hungarian authorities banned them from entering the country ahead of their planned performance at the Sziget Festival. The band called the ban 'a political distraction' and said gig cancellations are part of 'campaigns of attempted censorship' against artists who speak out in support of Palestine.

Former Rangers and Hearts striking hero Kyle Lafferty admits he is considering calling time on 20-year career after lifting the lid on his future coaching plans in a recent interview. The 37-year-old striker agreed a one-year deal with West of Scotland League side Johnstone Burgh last week, where he helped them win the Scottish Junior Cup for the first time since 1968 by scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout win over Tranent Juniors in May, but admits this coming season is likely to be his last. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The Northern Ireland international has a storied career in Scotland, having played for numerous Scottish Premiership sides. Joining Rangers in deal reported to be worth £3million from Burnley in the summer of 2008, he won three Scottish titles, two Scottish League Cups and a Scottish Cup during his time at Ibrox, but departed to sign for Swiss Super League club FC Sion in 2012 following the club's financial collapse. It was a difficult time and if I had the opportunity again I would stay and fight for the club and try to help them as much as possible.' After his spell in Switzerland, Lafferty spent time at both Palermo and Norwich City before returning to Scotland to sign for Hearts in 2017, where he scored on his debut against Elgin City. After bagging 12-goals in his first season at Tynecastle, the Enniskillen-born forward was re-signed by Rangers, where he spent just one further season before his contract was terminated by mutual consent. He scored a total of 42-goals during his two spells at Ibrox. Following short stints with Sarpsborg 08, Sunderland and Reggina, he then returned to Scotland by signing for Kilmarnock in 2012, where he was hugely impressive, scoring eight goals in just nine appearances. He left Rugby Park temporarily, joining Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta, but returned to Kilmarnock in 2021, where he helped them win promotion from the Scottish Championship. Keanie Park outfit to promotion before he hangs up his boots as he opened up on his future plans to move into coaching.

Northern Ireland midfielder rejects Championship offers to join former Premier League side in third tier
The 32-year-old was confirmed to be leaving Millwall at the expiry of his contract and had interest from multiple sides that would have seen him remain in the second tier. However, the international star has instead opted to step down a level and join the Hatters, who only two years ago were in the Premier League but have suffered the ignominy of going down two years in a row. Despite that, Saville, who played 45 of Millwall's 46 games last season as they just missed out on the Championship Play-Offs, believes he has made the right move for himself. "It's been a tough couple of years for the club but this is now a chance to correct that. Speaking with the manager, and what he wants to do, there's a chance to build something, create a good atmosphere and have a good season,' he said. "I had offers in the Championship but since the first conversation with the manager it was clear-cut, it fits what I want and it's an opportunity to achieve something." Former Chelsea youth product Saville departed Millwall after making over 200 appearances for the club across two spells at The Den, with spells at Brentford, Wolves and Middlesbrough in between, the latter of which he also hit a century of caps for. The Camberley-born midfielder has also made 57 appearances for Northern Ireland, whom he qualifies for through his Enniskillen-born grandmother, and set up Isaac Price's winning goal against Iceland on Tuesday. "We're really pleased to sign George, not just because of the experience and quality he'll bring, but because he's really enthused about the challenge that lies ahead,' praised Luton boss Matt Bloomfield. "He's chosen us over some Championship offers which shows his belief in our club, and that's the type of character we're after. "We're hoping George can help us with his leadership and ability to knit the game together in the middle of the pitch. He's going to be an important component of the squad."
