"Falling to bits": Tom Hardy Reveals List of Health Woes from Action Stunts

Yara Sameh Tom Hardy got candid about how his body is past the point of healing after a life spent getting beaten up on movie sets and in real life during martial arts tournaments. The actor is well known for getting physical on screen, be it as Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises' or as Max Rockatansky in 'Mad Max: Fury Road.' Films such as 'The Revenant,' 'Warrior,' and the 'Venom' trilogy have also gotten Hardy battered over the years. 'I've had two knee surgeries now, my disc's herniated in my back, I've got sciatica as well,' Hardy told Esquire UK. "And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It's like, it's all falling to bits now, and it's not going to get better.' Hardy currently stars opposite Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in the Paramount+ crime series 'MobLand.' He also headlined his latest action movie with Gareth Evans' 'Havoc,' which started streaming on Netflix at the end of April. Hardy's comic book movie days are behind him for now. He debuted as Venom in Sony's 2018 movie, which grossed a huge $856 million at the worldwide box office. He reprised the character in two sequels, 2021's ' Venom: Let There Be Carnage' and 2025's 'Venom: The Last Dance,' the latter of which was billed as Hardy's last outing as the character and grossed $478 million worldwide. 'I loved playing Eddie in 'Venom,'' Hardy told the publication. 'Juggling chainsaws… Put me on a unicycle and throw everything at me! I was just really trying to push myself as much as I could. But I had no Spider-Man! No Avengers! It's just us. Until those bridges are crossed… That's way beyond my control. And I'd love to do that, but that's not even a conversation to have at my level, of just being an actor in that world.' Hardy has been outspoken over the years about wanting to make a movie with Venom facing off against Tom Holland's Spider-Man. He revealed on 'The Discourse Podcast' in March that he 'got as close' as he possibly could to getting a crossover made before talks fell through. 'We played in the Sony counterpoint to Disney's Marvel panoply, of which [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige has a huge amount of cards, and Sony has a huge amount of cards in its own right, including Spider-Man, and then there's just no crossover,' Hardy now said. 'We'd love to cross over! That's not happened. That's what happens, and it's one of those things.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War

Hardy, who became a household name with the Venom trilogy and recently starred in MobLand alongside Pierce Brosnan, explained that there is 'more, more, more,' adding, 'Of what? Stomach ulcers? Blood pressure? Your knees are going, your hair's falling out, your teeth are wonky, you're almost 50.' However, he continued that no one cares, and it's time for him to handle these problems on his own. He also mentioned he's been exploring different ways to manage the pain. Speaking about stem cell treatment, he said, 'Probably, yeah… if it comes down to the wire.' He's also looked into homoeopathic remedies and custom treatments, like tinctures, trying anything to cope. Hardy, who landed his role in Venom in 2018, returned for two sequels after the Sony production grossed over $856 million at the worldwide box office. The actor was roped in for Venom: Let There Be Carnage and 2025's Venom: The Last Dance, both of which were massive successes. About his role, he said, 'I loved playing Eddie in Venom.' I was just really trying to push myself as much as I could. But I had no Spider-Man! No Avengers! It's just us.' He continued, 'there's just no crossover,' he added, referring to the gap between Sony and Marvel. 'We'd love to cross over! That's not happened. That's what happens, and it's one of those things.' The Mad Max star joked during the sit-down: 'This is the biopsy of where we're at: two vapes, somebody else's clothes, and a hotel room that neither of us feels comfortable in.' Despite all his health woes, the actor hasn't given up on fitness. Hardy continues to train in jiu-jitsu and has even earned a purple belt. He says the sport helps him mentally and physically, even though it's far from glamorous. 'You're not winning anything. It's very humiliating, in the right way,' he said. For him, jiu-jitsu isn't about ego. 'Only your ego will take you any further.'

What Time Does Blake Lively's ‘Another Simple Favor' Begin Streaming?

Partial character poster for "Another Simple Favor" featuring Blake Lively. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick's A Simple Favor sequel Another Simple Favor premieres on streaming this week. Where and what time can you watch the movie at home? Director Paul Feig, who directed A Simple Favor in 2018, reunites with Lively and Kendrick for Another Simple Favor. The summary for Another Simple Favor reads, 'Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily's extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. 'Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.' A Simple Favor stars Henry Golding and Andrew Rannells also return for Another Simple Favor, which also stars Allison Janney, Alex Newell, Michele Morrone and Elizabeth Perkins. Rated R, Another Simple Favor will begin streaming exclusively on Prime Video on Thursday, May 1, at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. Prime Video, of course, is the streaming component of Amazon Prime, which costs $14.99 per month and $139 per year. However, viewers who don't have Amazon Prime can subscribe to Prime Video only for $8.99 per month. Prime Video is ad-based, but an ad-free component can be added to the service for an extra $2.99 per month. Despite major success with his films Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat, Feig has to date resisted making sequels. Another Simple Favor, of course, marks a rare occasion for Feig, but he needed a good reason to make a sequel to A Simple Favor and he found it with the new film's setting. 'I love Capri – my wife and I have been going there for 30 years now. It's such a cinematic place that, forever, I was like 'I gotta shoot something here',' Feig told Esquire UK in an interview published Wednesday. 'I've avoided sequels in the past because I feel like when a movie works, it's the discovery of those characters for the first time that makes it successful. 'You really have to put them in a whole new place [for the sequel] and so we were like 'Well, wait, Capri!'' Feig added. 'Anna's character thinks she's finally mastered seeing everything weird and challenging in the U.S., and then you put her in a completely foreign land with ultra-rich people and the mob – it felt like a good way to go.' Another Simple Favor begins streaming on Prime Video on Thursday at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT.

Old Hollywood glamour, classic looks expected on Oscars red carpet

LOS ANGELES, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Celebrity stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn lines up pairs of towering heels before flicking through a rack of dazzling dresses. Metallics and sparkling sequins have often been seen on the red carpets this awards season as have structural pieces, says Mandelkorn, who will be dressing clients including "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" star Rachel Brosnahan and "Wicked" actress Marissa Bode for Oscar parties this weekend. "The trend that I've been seeing that is a little different than just colors or textures is these really sculptural dresses," she said. "Like really interesting kind of sculptural necklines and just the things that feel a little bit more avant-garde than your normal gown." Oscar nominees Cynthia Erivo and Zoe Saldana as well as "The Piano Lesson" actress Danielle Deadwyler have all worn such gowns, while Selena Gomez and Demi Moore, who many expect to win the best actress Oscar, have been seen in sparkling dresses. All eyes will be on them on Sunday at the Oscars, Hollywood's biggest red carpet and perhaps its most formal. "Old Hollywood glamour is really what I think of when I think of Oscar dressing, like ball gown skirts. There is a simplicity to it, but also with the glam, the hair, the makeup kind of just feeling timeless," Mandelkorn said. " Zendaya, opens new tab wore that beautiful Louis Vuitton burnt orangey color satin gown (at the Golden Globes) that was just like a timeless silhouette and with the hair and makeup, it just felt very award season." For the men, Esquire UK's Style Director Johnny Davis spotlighted Oscar contenders Colman Domingo and Adrien Brody for their distinctive outfits this awards season. "Adrien Brody... wears essentially the same thing, which is a classic black tux... He looks good, immaculately styled," he said. Domingo "just looks great, sort of very flamboyant," he added. He said stylistic choices made by celebrities nodded to both old and new Hollywood styles, while brooches on lapels and necklaces were among the stand-out accessories. For Sunday, Davis said he expected classic looks. "Because of the terrible fires there recently, I think potentially wearing something that's kind of shouty and loud is maybe not the way to go and going kind of classic for me would be what to expect," he said.
