Michael Jackson's estate rubishes reports of authorising BTS to record song for tribute album- Deets inside

BTS recently made the headlines after rumours spread that the group is reportedly all set to be a part of the tribute album for Michael Jackson . According to the latest reports, it was shared that the group had recorded an MJ song last year. Reports indicate that Jackson was working on an album in 2006, which was never finished due to his untimely passing. The studio where the songs were being made still exists, and the owner of the establishment recently revealed that, among many other artists, BTS also visited the space in order to record a new version of one of the King of Pop's electrifying songs. Paddy Dunning recently sat down for an interview with The Irish Sun, where he made a major revelation. He shared in the interview that, 'The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs. There are about ten more, written especially for Michael by the collaborators he worked with in Ireland, including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew, who have signed up for the project'. However, according to the latest reports, Michael Jackson's team has confirmed that any tribute album for the singer was not authorised by his Estate. Para Chuck shared a screenshot of the estate's reply on the email that read, "Regarding this tribute album you are hearing about - any claims that the Estate authorised and/or supports this project are false." Netizen reaction to the news Since news of the band's involvement in the project went viral, fans of the singer raised objection about the Korean stars rerecording the late singer's tracks. One commented, 'I don't have anything against them, but their style/sound has nothing in common with MJ... This song will NOT be good'. Another person shared their opinion about the news online, writing, 'Why can't the estate just give us ONLY MICHAEL for once??? Great, y'all are paying tribute to him, but do it your own way and stop ruining the art'.

BTS reportedly records unreleased Michael Jackson track for upcoming tribute album

The King of Pop and the Kings of pop, the two iconic legacies, may soon collide in a way fans never have reportedly recorded a never-before-heard Michael Jackson track as part of a global tribute album in the works. The news has been attributed to Paddy Dunning, owner of the Grouse Lodge recording studio in Westmeath, where Michael spent five months in 2006 crafting what was intended to be his major comeback those sessions were left unfinished after Jackson departed Ireland and remained unreleased following his death in 2009, Dunning has since spearheaded efforts to revive that archive. In a recent interview with The Irish Sun, Dunning shared that 'the sessions started last year, and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.' The project, supported by Michael Jackson's Estate, will also include a documentary chronicling the music icon's time in Ireland, offering fans a glimpse into one of the most creatively rich yet publicly unknown chapters of his BTS, this marks yet another moment in their career where they honour Jackson's legacy. Their chart-topping English single 'Dynamite' paid clear homage to Michael Jackson, right from the glittery outfits and fedora flips to choreographic nods that echoed his legendary footwork. This collaboration, albeit posthumous, cements the cultural bridge they've helped build between generations and revealed that the tribute album will feature around ten unreleased tracks written specifically for Jackson by his collaborators in Ireland, including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew. 'The Estate told me to plough ahead with this because, like me, they see it as a tribute to Michael,' Dunning noted, confirming that global artists are being tapped for the rest of the official release date for the album or documentary is yet to be announced. However, the news was enough to leave BTS and Michael Jackson's fans excited. Given that the month also marks Jackson's birth anniversary, one can expect an announcement and release this month. If true, BTS's involvement would make them the only K-pop group to be part of a posthumous Michael Jackson Michael once sang, 'Don't stop till you get enough.' And BTS, it seems, never do.- EndsMust Watch

Our top pick is the Zinus Spa Sensations Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress, now only $168 for a queen (was $288.) Sad decline of Plaza Alam Sentral is a statement that more malls will follow

IT IS always a sad thing to witness another shopping mall dying. The fading crowd and growing emptiness all point towards the many struggling businesses, wasted space, and a trend that is only growing. Recently, a netizen in a video showed the lack of footfall in Plaza Alam Sentral. According to him, the place was very lively a decade back. But the man did not reveal if the video was taken during a weekday morning or was it during the weekend. If this was the condition of Plaza Alam Sentral during the weekend, then they might as well turn the entire place into a haunted house theme park. A visit to the Plaza Alam Sentral Facebook page, however, revealed that its social media platform was alive. Just several hours ago, Plaza Alam Sentral published an event where people could exchange their old electronic devices for cash. Last month there was also a blood donation drive at the ground floor. It appears to be very much alive, or is this part of the digital initiative to revive it? But Plaza Alam Sentral is not the only mall suffering from this fate. According to a Youtuber Chester Cheng – Real Estate, the Cheras Sentral Mall, 1Shamelin Mall and Quill City Mall are among some of the casualties too. But it appears this trend is not only unique to Malaysia, but across the world. According to the website more consumers are choosing to shop online and many physical retailers are struggling to keep up with the speed and ease of digital shopping. Back in their heyday, malls offered more than just a place to buy things. They served as community gathering spots. Whether grabbing a bite at the food court, catching a movie, or simply window shopping with friends, malls were central to many social lives. But today, the way people connect and shop has drastically shifted, said Social media platforms have taken over as the new public square. Apps like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and X aren't just for sharing photos and updates. They have become full-fledged shopping tools. With a few taps, users can discover, review, and buy trending products directly from their feeds. Social shopping combines the appeal of viral content with the instant gratification of e-commerce, making it a powerful alternative to traditional retail. Another major draw of online shopping is its efficiency. Customers are turning to websites that offer fast support through AI-powered chatbots, flexible return policies, and streamlined checkout experiences. Many online stores also offer detailed product info, FAQs, and support libraries, eliminating the need for in-person help or long customer service calls. For business owners, the shift is just as stark. Running a physical store comes with significant expenses, from staffing and utilities to leasing retail space. On the other hand, digital storefronts are more cost-effective and scalable. That economic reality is pushing more brands to close brick-and-mortar locations in favor of building their presence online. In short, the retail world is changing, and malls are struggling to keep up. As consumer habits evolve, digital convenience and cost-efficiency are redefining the way people shop.—July 9, 2025 Main image: @bckupacc99 (X)
