Notre Dame signee P Caden Crowell snubbed by MLB Draft, ready to start his Irish career
Time to work. Notre Dame baseball saw just two of its players getting drafted by an MLB team, pitcher Rory Fox and shortstop Estevan Moreno, but others had the potential to hear their names getting called. One of them was Indiana pitcher Caden Crowell, as the 6-foot, 4-inch and 200-pound lefty thought that he might get picked, but ultimately didn't. The MLB's loss is the Irish's gain, as the top in-state pitcher and No. 159 overall prospect nationally according to will soon start his career in South Bend. Crowell went to social media to share his excitement, and while not getting picked surely was bittersweet, he'll get to work on his craft over the next three years and be eligible to get picked once again. He was dominant this past season, with a 0.25 ERA and 97 strikeouts in just 55 innings. If he's able to replicate his senior season success with Notre Dame, there is do doubt that he'll be hearing his named called during the 2028 MLB Draft.

Notre Dame loses its starting shortstop, Estevan Moreno, to the Major League Draft
Many wondered if Notre Dame baseball's starting shortstop Estevan Moreno would get drafted, and while he had to wait until the No. 20 round before the Seattle Mariners took him off the board. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 215-pound middle infielder still had one year of eligibility remaining, but has told Matt Freeman of Irish Sports Daily that he will start his professional career. The Mariners have plenty of good prospects, and more than a few of them play the same position as Moreno. It's probably not where he wanted to be selected, during the final round, but the Illinois native decided that playing in the minor leagues is one step closer to his ultimate goal, playing in the major leagues. Moreno didn't have his best season with the Irish this spring, but did drive in a career high 43-runs. During his three years in South Bend, the shortstop hit .236 with 30 homers, 107 RBI, and scored 113 runs. We wish Estevan the best as his starts his professional baseball career.

University of Miami baseball ends regular season with a 12-2 loss to Notre Dame
The University of Miami baseball team (31-23, 15-14 Atlantic Coast Conference) dropped the series finale to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (32-20, 14-16 ACC) by a final score of 12-2 Saturday afternoon at Mark Light Field. Notre Dame starter Jackson Dennies lasted 4 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on five hits. Ricky Reeth (3-1) earned the win in relief, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out two. The Fighting Irish responded to Friday night's mercy-rule loss with an early spark in the first inning. Parker Brzustewicz delivered a full-count RBI single to plate Davis Johnson and put Notre Dame on the board. Moments later, Carson Tinney came around to score while Brzustewicz was caught in a rundown between first and second, giving the Irish a quick 2-0 advantage. Sophomore Daniel Cuvet trimmed the Fighting Irish lead in his first trip to the plate, lacing a run-scoring single to bring home Jake Ogden and cut the deficit to 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth, Miami pulled even as Max Galvin delivered an RBI single on an 0-2 pitch to bring home Jake Ogden and tie the score 2-2. Notre Dame responded in the top of the sixth with a pair of home runs to regain control. Tinney led off the inning with a solo shot to left field, putting the Irish back in front. After Parker Brzustewicz drew a walk from Miami reliever Rob Evans, Estevan Moreno stepped up to notch a two-run homer that stretched the Notre Dame lead to 5-2. Notre Dame baseball blows out Miami behind two Carson Tinney HR's to win road series
Notre Dame baseball blows out Miami behind two Carson Tinney HR's to win road series In a series that Notre Dame baseball needed to keep its hopes alive for a NCAA Tournament bid, the Irish did exactly that. The two teams split the first two games, and on Saturday afternoon, played the rubber match, with Notre Dame coming out victorious 12-2. The game wasn't as lopsided as the final looks, as the two teams were even at 2 after five innings of play. That's when the Irish offense exploded for ten runs over the final four innings. Star catcher Carson Tinney, who was named as a Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist earlier in the week, led the offense with three hits, two of them for home runs and 4 RBI on the day. Shortstop Estevan Moreno wasn't a slouch at the dish either, as he also added a homer and 3 RBI. Jackson Dennies got the start for Notre Dame, going 4 and two-thirds innings, allowing just two runs with two strikeouts. Ricky Reeth came in relief and shut the door on the Hurricanes, going 2 and-a-third scoreless and then Oisin Lee closed it out with 2 innings of scoreless ball. The win puts Notre Dame's overall record at 32-20, with an ACC record of 14-16. This series win should help its chances to make the NCAA Tournament, as Miami is expected to make the field as well. The regular season is over for the Irish, with the ACC Tournament set to start on May 20th.

Notre Dame baseball trounces Link Jarrett and Florida State in the series opening game
Friday afternoon went exactly how Notre Dame baseball wanted to start its weekend, and it made it even sweeter beating former head coach Link Jarrett and No. 4 Florida State 16-9 in Frank Eck Stadium. The Irish trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, then erupted for 5-runs to take a lead they would never relinquish. Notre Dame's offense didn't let up, as they scored another run in the seventh, and capped off the huge win with a big 8-run eighth inning. Advertisement Offensively, it was catcher Carson Tinney leading the way, going 2-for-3 with a homer, 4 RBI and two walks. He wasn't the only one making their mark with big blasts as Jared Zimbardo, Estevan Moreno, Brady Gumpf, Nick DeMarco, Jayce Lee and DM Jefferson all went yard as well. While it wasn't the best pitching performance for the Irish, starter Jack Radel held the Seminole offense in check allowing 4 runs in 5.2 innings, striking out five. Rickey Reeth came in relief and got knocked around a bit to 4 runs in 2 innings, but Chase Van Ameyde shut the door with just one run allowed in 1.1 innings. He struck out the side in the top of the ninth to secure the win. The victory puts Notre Dame's season record at 14-9, 2-8 in ACC play. It was clearly a much needed win as the Irish get back on the diamond to conclude the series on Saturday with a double-header, as Sunday's game was moved to tomorrow due to weather concerns.
