Uma Thurman and her rarely seen youngest daughter Luna, 12, support her oldest Maya Hawke, 26, at opening night of Eurydice in New York
Uma Thurman was joined by her rarely seen daughter Luna at the opening night of Eurydice at the Signature Theatre in New York City on Monday. The actress, 55, an her youngest, 12, stepped out to support her oldest daughter Maya Hawke, 26, ahead of her Off-Broadway debut. Maya stars as the titular character in Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of the classic Greek myth, which will run until June 22. Walking the red carpet head of the show, Uma looked effortlessly chic in a wool coat, which she teamed with smart trousers. Smiling for photos beside her mum, Luna opted for a black top and a pair of straight leg jeans. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Maya looked stunning in a draped, satin midi dress which she teamed with a matching rust-coloured umbrella and heels. Uma's two older children, Maya and Levon - whom she shares with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke — are well known for having followed their famous parents into acting. But she has cultivated a far more private existence for her youngest daughter Luna, whom she shares with her ex, the French hedge fund manager Arpad Busson, 62. A rare exception occurred in 2023 at the New York City premiere of Wes Anderson's critically acclaimed comedy Asteroid City, which Maya had a small role in. Even though Luna isn't usually spotted at similar events, this time she was seen posing for photographers. While little is known about Luna, Uma previously opened up about why she decided to give her daughter four middle names. 'Maya came up with the best excuse, which was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into Luna's,' she told Jimmy Fallon during a Tonight Show appearance. 'We couldn't quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna. She's lucky that way.' Uma and her financier ex Arpad Busson began their on–off relationship back in 2007, and revealed that they were engaged in June of the following year, but they called off the engagement in 2009. The split was short-lived, though, and Uma and Arpad reunited in 2010, with the engagement back on. Luna arrived in 2012, but her parents still hadn't married by 2014, when they called it off their engagement for a second time and seemingly split for good. In early 2017, Uma and Arpad became engaged in a custody battle over their youngest child, with The Pulp Fiction star ultimately receiving primary physical custody of Luna. Prior to dating Arpad, Thurman was married twice: from 1990 to 1992 to Oscar winner Gary Oldman, and then from 1998 to 2005 to Ethan Hawke after they met on the set of their 1997 sci-fi drama Gattaca. They welcomed Maya in 1998 and Levon in 2002, before separating in 2003. Prior to his relationship with Uma, Arpad's best-known partner was Elle Macpherson, whom he was together with from 1996 to 2005 and shared two sons.

‘Once in a generation' horror movie could finally get another sequel
A 'once in a generation' horror movie could be getting an even scarier sequel, and we're not sure we're ready for it. Sinister first hit the big screen in 2012, starring Ethan Hawke as desperate true crime writer Ellison Oswald, who finds a snuff film showing the deaths of a family and attempts to solve the mystery. However, things take a supernatural turn when the author moves his own family into the house and he's soon fighting to save his loved ones from danger. Scott Derrickson's flick was praised by many at the time but the 2015 follow-up, titled Sinister 2, didn't get the same rave reviews. In a new interview with Joe to promote his upcoming horror, Black Phone 2, the filmmaker touched on whether he'd spoken to producer Jason Blum about resurrecting the franchise. 'Yeah, we've actually been speaking about it,' he said. 'I think that we really dropped the ball on Sinister 2. I take responsibility for that. 'I think that there were some problems with that screenplay that we wrote. It didn't have the mystery or the intensity of the first movie. 'But we're hoping to make a Sinister 3 eventually and revive that franchise. I would love to see that happen.' Considering the first movie was found to be the scariest film according to science, another instalment could be just what we need. Sinister, also starring Juliet Rylance, Clare Foley and Fred Thompson, was a box office success in the early 2010s, grossing more than $87million worldwide. It currently commands a 64% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics, compared to a slightly lower 62% from fans. Despite the score, many users raved about the supernatural scare-fest on the platform, branding it a 'cheek-clenching' watch. Alexander T praised: 'By far, the most terrifying movie I've ever seen, and I've seen so many that I can't remember most of them.' Tadhg D agreed: 'A horror movie that served its proper purpose: I was scared after it with my heart beating. The atmosphere was on point along with the characters being interesting. 'It is my personal favourite horror movie and from the first scene both intrigues and sets a perfect atmosphere for a movie. Perfect 10/10.' 'One of the greatest horror movies ever made,' an anonymous user said. BigD J posted: 'Sinister is one of those once in a generation films. Brilliantly conducted. Cinematography, soundtrack, creep factor, jump scares, lighting was on point. More Trending 'Not sure why critics gave it such bad reviews or what the hell they're looking for in horror, but this gem had it all. 'Worth a watch, but I'd recommend a very dark, quiet environment, as there's a lot of silent, low tone parts.' As Evan A added: 'Started watching this at 12 in the morning, and I must say cheeks were clenched. This masterpiece of a film perfectly encapsulates both aspects of horror, eeriness and a jump-out-of-your-seat thrill. 'It's the anticipation and build up of the fire you watched start, yet can't look away from, and when it finally climaxes you're still shocked to your core. If I could give this more than 5 stars I absolutely would. In my top 3 Horror movies for sure.' Got a story? Chilling First Trailer for BLACK PHONE 2 - "Dead Is Just a Word" — GeekTyrant
Universal Pictures has released the first trailer and poster for Scott Derrickson's horror film Black Phone 2 , and it sees the return of Ethan Hawke's villainous character The Grabber, who is haunting Finney (Mason Thames) and Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) from beyond the grave. This looks like it's going to be a pretty creepy sequel. I loved the first film, and I'm excited to see how the next chapter of this story plays out! The director previously described the film as 'a high school coming-of-age movie in the same way that the first movie was a middle school coming-of-age film." The creator of the story, Joe Hill, said: "There have been some really, really good conversations about a sequel. And the thing is, as soon as I saw the mask, which was designed by Tom Savini and Jason Baker, as soon as I saw the mask I thought, 'If this film is a hit, there'll be a sequel,' because the mask is so iconic. 'It is like Freddy Krueger's glove, it is like Michael Myers' mask, it is this thing where it's the imagery, iconic imagery, that haunts people's sleep. 'And, look, in horror, guys like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, and Frankenstein, and Dracula, none of these guys stay buried. They all claw their way out of the grave for a sequel and then a threequel." He continued, "There have been talks about how to do a sequel that wouldn't suck. How to do a sequel that doesn't cheapen the film that came before, that's still scary, that's still intense, that feels organic. 'And those conversations have been pretty good. But if I were to provide any details, Scott and [writer C. Robert] Cargill would lock me in the basement in the film, and that's it. 'And the phone doesn't work. As you know, the phone doesn't work. I can't call anyone to get out. So I would decline to offer any real granular details about the possible sequel." The Black Phone 2 in theaters on October 17, 2025.

File Photo by Rune Hellestad/UPI | License Photo June 2 (UPI) -- Horror sequel Black Phone 2 is set to open in theaters Oct. 17. Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeline McGraw and Jeremy Davies are reprising their roles from the original 2022 blockbuster, while The Nun and The Grudge alum Demian Bichir is joining the ensemble for the follow-up. Both Blumhouse films were written, produced and directed by Scott Derrickson, whose credits include The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Doctor Strange. "Four years ago, 13-year-old Finn (Thames) killed his abductor and escaped, becoming the sole survivor of The Grabber (Hawke). But true evil transcends death... and the phone is ringing again," a synopsis said. "As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, the headstrong 15-year-old Gwen (McGraw) begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake," the summary continued. "Determined to solve the mystery and end the torment for both her and her brother, Gwen persuades Finn to visit the camp during a winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering intersection between The Grabber and her own family's history. Together, she and Finn must confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death and more significant to them than either could imagine." A 2-minute trailer released Sunday has already gotten 1.6 million views since it was posted on YouTube.

Ethan Hawke Returns In First Trailer For 'Black Phone 2'
The 2021 horror movie The Black Phone became a surprise horror hit for Blumhouse based on the short story of the same name by author Joe Hill. Because the film was such a hit, earning $161.4 million on a budget between $16-18 million, a sequel was greenlit several years later. Now the full trailer for the follow-up – titled Black Phone 2 – has been released by Universal. Interestingly, the new sequel revolves around the characters from the first film, with the roles having been aged up to reflect the increased age of the actors. Ethan Hawke also returns to play The Grabber, the brutal antagonist of the first film, which this trailer depicts in a more Freddy Krueger style fashion. Here's the official trailer for Black Phone 2 : This trailer for Black Phone 2 puts an emphasis on the tense atmosphere that the film will feature, with an emphasis on its snowy winter setting, something which is a change from the original. Likewise, the footage is grainy and dark, with the signature use of filmic imagery that is enough to make viewers' blood run as cold as the wintery shots depicted. The cast for Black Phone 2 , as the trailer features, includes returning cast members Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and Miguel Mora. For Hawke's character, given his fate in the preceding flick, it looks like his role as The Grabber has expanded into a more supernatural threat. Scott Derrickson returned to direct the follow-up for Blumhouse and Universal which was once again written by C. Robert Cargill and Derrickson. The two seem to have cracked a great idea that made producing a sequel a worthwhile endeavor. Black Phone 2 is scheduled to hit theaters later this year on October 17, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding this highly-anticipated sequel to the horror hit The Black Phone as we have them.
