Gen V season 2 is turning into a stealth season 4.5 of The Boys, as Starlight actor Erin Moriarty joins the cast
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Although there is no The Boys panel at San Diego Comic Con this year, the supes are definitely in the building as Gen V season 2 is here, and the show has dropped a bombshell: Erin Moriarty, AKA Starlight, is beaming over from the mothership show to join the students at Godolkin University for the imminent second season. And that's not all. The SDCC 2025 panel also brought news that Wicked star Ethan Slater is joining the cast for season 2 as none other than Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the school for fledgling supes. They'll be joined by Nathan Mitchell's man of few words, Black Noir, in the upcoming season. In other words, it's really starting to sound like essential viewing ahead of The Boys season 5. We last saw our favorite super-able students when Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre were framed for turning God U into a bloodbath, which was really Sam and Cate's doing. Vought then sent the four down to the Woods. But despite Gen V season 1 ending in utter chaos, season 2 starts with Marie, Emma, and Jordan returning for their sophomore year at Godolkin. This is because season 2 sees a little time jump as it takes place directly after the events of The Boys season 4. The official synopsis reads: "As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever." However, just because our favorite four are out of the woods now, that doesn't mean that everything has gone back to normal. "The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it." The series welcomes back Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and adds Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Oh, we'll also see some Boys cameos too, including Chace Crawford's The Deep. Gen V season 2 will release with a three-episode premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 17. GEN V Season 2 Trailer Drops and It's Packed with THE BOYS Cameos and an Ethan Slater Reveal — GeekTyrant
Prime Video just dropped the first full trailer for Gen V Season 2 at its Friday Comic-Con panel, and the fans went wild. The sneak peek teased returning characters, unexpected cameos, and a big reveal about Godolkin University's dark past. Showrunner Michele Fazekas teased the bigger picture of the franchise during the panel, saying: 'The shows talk to each other. So Season 4 of The Boys sets up Season 2 of Gen V . So now, Homelander has taken over America. Now, we get to see what that looks like — what that looks like the country, what that looks like at the school, and then what the resistance is going to start looking like.' One of the biggest jmoments in the trailer featured a badge belonging to Dr. Thomas Godolkin, the university's founder, played by none other than Ethan Slater. That means Season 2 will dive into the shady origins of Godolkin U, adding even more layers to the already twisted lore. The official synopsis from Amazon sets the tone: 'As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss.' 'But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.' New faces include Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher, a man whose friendly vibe probably hides something sinister. Returning cast members include Lizze Broadway as Emma, Maddie Phillips as Cate, Asa Germann as Sam, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Gen V Season 2 kicks off with a three-episode premiere on September 17, followed by weekly drops every Wednesday.

Producers previously said that his character, who had the ability to control metal through magnetism, will not be recast in the upcoming season. The first three episodes of Gen V season two will premiere on 17 September on Prime Video.

Ethan Slater, who played Boq Woodsman in the musical film 'Wicked' and will reprise his role in 'Wicked: For Good', opened up on his journey in the film and how it has impacted him personally and professionally, reported People. "It's a hard question to think about how it's impacted my career, because it's all sort of like ongoing, one foot in front of the other," said Slater while attending San Diego Comic-Con. He added, "It's been a big part of making those childhood dreams come true," Slater said of being a part of the Wicked franchise. "I saw Wicked on Broadway with my, I think, fifth-grade class. We went on a school trip before the Tonys. It just opened, and we went, and I saw it, and that was one of the first shows that I saw," as per the outlet. "And then I brought my niece to see it for her ninth birthday," Slater continued. "I got to see it again with new eyes, and see what it must have felt like for me to see that. And so it's been such a huge part of me to now be a part of it, to be a part of Wicked, that's changed my life in a huge way," reported People. 'The Boys' star Erin Moriarty and Black Noir cross over to 'Gen V' season 2 Comic-Con trailer, 'Wicked' star joins cast
Ethan Slater will play Thomas Godolkin, the scientist and founder of God U. The Boys and Gen V continue to feed each other. Erin Moriarty and (presumably) Nathan Mitchell, who portray the supes Starlight and Black Noir on the mothership Amazon drama, arrive on the college-set spinoff in a major way, as seen on the new Gen V season 2 Comic-Con trailer. Another big surprise sees Ethan Slater, who plays Boq in the Wicked and Wicked: For Good movies, join the cast as Thomas Godolkin, the scientist and founder of Godolkin University, making an appearance in flashbacks. This season, Jaz Sinclair's blood-bending Marie Moreau is on the run from Vought forces. When she's attacked by Dogknott, a supe first introduced on Gen V season 1 by way of actor Zach McGowan, Moriarty's Starlight comes in to save her. The new Gen V season clearly picks up after the events of The Boys season 4, which ended with Homelander (Antony Starr) taking over the U.S. government and his cronies "disappearing" members of the Boys. Starlight was able to escape by flying off. Now she has a plan to fight back, but she needs Marie to do so. Vought is resuming Project Odessa, which those who follow The Boys will remember is the top-secret initiative referenced in season 4. We don't know what it entails specifically beyond that it's a "high security project of the strictest confidence" and that, per the trailer, it was spearheaded by Thomas Godolkin. Starlight tells Marie, "I need you to stop it." So Marie re-enrolls at God U, pretending like everything is OK when really she's there to sniff out Project Odessa. Meanwhile, there's a new dean, Hamish Linklater's Cipher, who previously ran the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation facility where Marie, Emma (Lizze Broadway), Jordan (London Thor/Derek Luh), and Andre (Chance Perdomo) were being held captive at the end of Gen V season 1. Cipher has big plans to unlock the potential of his students by pushing them to their physical limits. He believes Marie "could be the most powerful supe to ever come out of Godolkin," even more powerful than Homelander. And maybe that's where this is all heading. The Boys mothership show is heading towards its fifth and final season, premiering next year, and so far, no one seems powerful enough to take down the dictator supe. Could Marie be the key? Michele Fazekas returns as showrunner, while the cast also includes Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Thomas has been bumped up to series regular in season 2. The first three episodes will premiere Sept. 17 on Amazon Prime Video. Watch the trailer above. Check out more of .
