Shagun Pandey, known for his stint on MTV Splitsvilla 11, is wowing audiences with his new role in Zee TV's daily show Saru. The daily soap, which features Mohak Matkar as the female lead, stars Shagun as Ved, a thoughtful and composed English professor. Premiered on May 12, Saru tells the inspiring story of a small-town girl chasing her big dreams. Did you know Shagun has put in a great deal of hard work for this role? He shared that it required him to consciously adjust his tone, body language and overall presence. He went the extra mile by curating and writing his own lectures to make them both informative and engaging for the viewers. 'As soon as I found out that Ved is an English professor, I realised this role would be unlike anything I've done before. Unlike my previous characters, who were often caught in intense family dynamics, Ved had to teach a classroom and connect with students in a calm, composed way. That meant doing my homework, literally," Shagun Pandey shared in an interview with Etimes. The 28-year-old actor said that portraying Ved has been an eye-opening and enriching experience for him. 'I didn't just want to memorise lines; I wanted the classroom scenes to feel real, like something a viewer could actually learn from. So, I sat down and designed short, impactful lectures for the students, deciding what topics to cover and how to deliver them in a way that was simple yet effective," he added. Shagun Pandey also mentioned that he drew inspiration from his own teachers, sought input from people around him and did extensive reading to fully get into the character's mindset. 'I truly hope I've done justice to the role and that the audience connects with Ved," the actor shared. Shagun has been a part of several TV shows, including Mera Balam Thanedaar, where he played the role of an IPS officer. 'Bhairavam' Box Office Collection Day 3: Bellamkonda, Manoj & Rohith starrer earns Rs 7.5 Cr in opening weekend

Released on Friday, the film has collected an estimated total of Rs 7.5 crore over the opening weekend. As per trade analyst Sacnilk's report, on its first day, 'Bhairavam' earned around Rs 2.6 crore, followed by Rs 2.4 crore on Saturday, a slight dip of about 7.7%. The film bounced back on Sunday, bringing in approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Theatre occupancy The film's occupancy rates on Sunday, June 1, 2025, stood at a healthy 25.57% across Telugu-speaking regions. The morning shows saw a modest turnout of 17.5%, but the numbers picked up significantly in the afternoon and evening, with occupancy rates reaching nearly 30% and 30.5% respectively. Night shows maintained a solid 24.3%, indicating good word-of-mouth and consistent viewer engagement throughout the day. The news has sparked a wave of excitement across social media. Filmfare has a source from the industry saying, 'Subhash ji is excited about staging a sequel to Khal Nayak. The story will be based on new characters played by newcomers. But add the original appeal, with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt might be roped in for special roles. It's a project in the making right now, but Subhash ji and his team are very excited about this project." Earlier, it was reported that Subhash Ghai has completed the script for Khalnayak 2. Not long back, Subhash Ghai had told Etimes, 'The truth is I am not looking for actors to play Ballu Balram but a younger actor to play a new character in Khalnayak 2 who will be pitted against Ballu Balram who is 55 years old man now. Ballu will be played Sanjay Dutt only. Like Al Pacino played in Godfather 2 and Marlon Brando played Godfather 1." The source close to the development told 'Subhash Ghai wants to approach actors like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor for the character of Ballu Balram. In fact, he isn't sticking to just Bollywood. Allu Arjun and Yash are also in his list and he wants to approach them as well. He just wants someone who would be able to take the legacy of Ballu Balaram forward."
