Sooraj Pancholi Says He Doesn't Expect Salman Khan To "Resurrect" His Career: "I Know My Limits"

Actor Sooraj Pancholi recently returned to the big screen with Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath, four years after the 2021 dance drama Time to Dance. In a new interview, Sooraj Pancholi said he can't keep on running towards Bollywood superstar Salman Khan whenever he needs work. Salman Khan launched the actor in his 2015 production Hero along with Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty. What's Happening Actor Sooraj Pancholi told Etimes that he is in touch with his mentor and first producer Salman Khan, but he doesn't expect him to get him more films in future. "I'm in touch with Salman sir, but I don't want to disturb him. He's a superstar, and I know my limits. Though he launched me in Hero, I don't expect him to resurrect my career. What he's done for me is more than enough, asking for more would be greedy. I'm very grateful for everything he's done for me," he said. The actor's remarks come months after Salman Khan gave him a shout-out on Instagram, promoting his new film release Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath, which released in theatres on May 23. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) Sooraj Pancholi, who is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was accused for abetting the suicide of his then girlfriend Jiah Khan back in 2013. A special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted him in 2023 citing paucity of evidence. In the same interview, the actor said "the worst is over" and he was looking forward to a good future. "I never went to producers for work. The one question they always had was when would the case end? If I were a producer, I might have the same reservations. But that's behind me now. In this industry, patience is key. The ones who are patient make it, the rest don't. I'm patient. After my acquittal, I didn't expect things to change overnight... I am a different person now, inside and out," he added. In A Nutshell Sooraj Pancholi says while he is in contact with Salman Khan, who gave him his first break in the movies with 2015's Hero, he doesn't depend on the Bollywood superstar to keep getting him more work.

'Detective Ujjwalan' OTT release: Dhyan Sreenivasan's detective film starts streaming

After its theatrical run with a decent box office performance, Malayalam mystery comedy 'Detective Ujjwalan' is now set for its digital premiere. Starring and Siju Wilson in lead roles, the film has started streaming on Netflix, as we reported earlier. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The film is part of the growing Weekend Cinematic Universe, and it has caught attention for its quirky setting and curious narrative style. Interestingly, the Dhyan Sreenivasan starrer also shares a subtle connection to 'Minnal Murali'. This adds an extra layer of intrigue to its entire universe. Where mystery meets comedy in Plaachikkaavu Set in the quiet village of Plaachikkaavu, 'Detective Ujjwalan' follows the titular character, a small-time detective who's usually busy solving minor local cases. But things take an unexpected turn when a mysterious stranger arrives in town and challenges Ujjwalan's sleuthing skills. Detective Ujjwalan - Official Teaser What starts off as a lighthearted competition quickly turns into something far more sinister. The movie ends with a clever twist. A promising ensemble Alongside Dhyan Sreenivasan and Siju Wilson, the film stars Kottayam Nazeer, Seema G Nair, Ameen, Nihal Nizam, Nibraz Noushad, Shahubas, and Roni David Raj. The script and direction are handled by newcomers Indraneel Gopalakrishnan and Rahul G, marking their entry into feature filmmaking with a distinctly offbeat narrative style. Want to watch the film? Well, check out Etimes review. An excerpt from our official review reads, "There are some rules that a detective story needs to make it work and for the effect to stay with us. Some red herrings that will confuse the audience so that we are emotionally and intellectually caught up in the story, a detective who uses logic that will baffle us with its brilliance and a final revelation of the culprit that will shock us. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Detective Ujjwalan does not use any of these devices in a forceful enough manner. The period settings are interesting and the village characters are loveable enough, though some of the superb comic talents from social media, Ameen, Nihal Nizam, Nibraz and Shahubas, are barely utilised. The film seems to go in the direction of most Dhyan films; a bit of an anti-climax."
