Sleep Country Partners with Emmy Award Winner, Eugene Levy for its New Sleep Daddy Campaign

The brand encourages Canadians to get serious about their relationship with sleep TORONTO, July 7, 2025 /CNW/ - Sleep Country, Canada's leading specialty sleep retailer, is proud to launch a new campaign featuring Emmy Award Winner, Eugene Levy as Sleep Daddy, a charming and trustworthy figure that reminds Canadians to get serious about their relationship with sleep. The campaign will mark the first of many appearances by Sleep Daddy, who will pop up throughout the year to rally Canadians around improving their sleep habits. For over 30 years, Sleep Country has helped Canadians better understand the power of sleep. Yet many people still struggle to find balance between their demanding lives and the restful, restorative sleep they need. The campaign kicks off by exploring the ways in which we are terrible partners in our relationship with sleep, provoking viewers to renew that relationship and commit to prioritizing their sleep habits and sleep essentials. "As kids, our relationship with sleep was simpler. Our parents watched out for us and made sure we stuck to our bedtimes. As adults, no one tells us to put away our phones, turn off the TV, or quit snacking and go to bed. The campaign reminds Canadians that better sleep is possible when we prioritize our relationship with our beds," explains Nuno Bamberg, Senior Vice President, Brand & Marketing, Sleep Country Canada. "We're extremely proud to partner with Eugene Levy for this campaign, a Canadian icon who perfectly embodies our Sleep Daddy persona with his signature mix of charm and relatable humor. He delivers on the brand strategy in a hilarious and highly effective way." Canadians are in s earch of a better relationship with sleep. As uncovered through a national survey commissioned by Leger, Canadians relationship with sleep is rocky at best. Many know how important sleep is, and are aware their sleep is lacking, yet they still struggle to get a good night's rest. According to the study, only 16% of adults in the country said they have a "very good" relationship with sleep, while the majority report challenges due to low sleep duration, poor sleep quality, and knowingly neglecting rest despite knowing better. Key findings from the survey include: Approximately one quarter (26%) of Canadians report getting the recommended 7–8 hours of sleep per night, while almost 2 out of 3 (65%) get 6 hours or less. Almost 7 out of 10 Canadians (69%) wish they were getting better quality sleep. More than half (58%) say they knowingly get less rest than they need — highlighting a deep disconnect between awareness and behaviour. The most common impact of a bad night's sleep? More than 2 out of 3 Canadians (68%) report lower energy levels — a hidden drag on health, happiness, and productivity. "Sleep Country is committed to continuing to educate Canadians about the power of sleep. We understand there's no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to sleep and that prioritizing our relationship with sleep can be challenging at the best of times. There are plenty of simple steps Canadians can take to get better sleep, and we are here to help. Our passion for better sleep starts with our Sleep Experts, who have helped millions of Canadians improve their sleep by listening to their needs and matching them to their perfect sleep solution," said Stewart Schaefer, President and CEO of Sleep Country Canada. The study on Canadians' relationship with sleep was conducted by Leger from June 20 to 22, 2025, which surveyed 1,619 Canadians aged 18+ years old. The margin of error is ±2.436%. Alyson Stoner Jokes Taylor Lautner 'Almost Convinced Me I Was Straight' in 'Cheaper by the Dozen 2' — and the Actor Responds!

Alyson Stoner joked that their Cheaper by the Dozen 2 costar Taylor Lautner once made them question their sexuality "Almost convinced me I was straight. 🤭," Stoner said in an Instagram comment, reacting to a romance scene opposite the actor in the 2005 film Stoner identifies as pansexual and queer and uses they/them pronounsAlyson Stoner joked that they had conflicting thoughts about their sexuality while starring opposite Taylor Lautner in Cheaper by the Dozen 2. In a July 2 Instagram post, Lautner, 33, shared a video of the 2005 film playing on an outdoor screen. The movie scene featured in the post saw the actor casually putting his arm around Stoner's character while they were on a movie theater date, as their film dads — Steve Martin and Eugene Levy — watched on in horror. Turning the camera on himself, Lautner mimicked the scene that was shown, placing his arm around his wife, Tay Lautner, as she sat on a lawn chair beside him. Lautner referenced the scene in the caption of his social media post, writing, "The move still works 20 years later 😉," and Stoner, 31, popped in the comments herself and said, "😮‍💨 Got me good! Almost convinced me I was straight. 🤭." In response, Lautner wrote back to Stoner — who identifies as pansexual and queer and uses they/them pronouns — "OMFG YOU WIN," as his wife chimed in to add, "This is so good👏👏." Is 'Schitt's Creek' Coming Back? The Famous Motel Might Provide a Clue

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Rumors of a Schitt's Creek reboot are swirling after a video about a key filming location went viral online. The Hockley Motel, known in the series as the Rosebud Motel, was the Rose family's home and featured in all six seasons of the Canadian sitcom. Recently, the "Rosebud Motel" sign, which had been removed following filming, reappeared on the property. Newsweek has contacted Dan and Eugene Levy's representatives for comment via email. The Context Schitt's Creek is an Emmy Award-winning series created by Dan Levy and his father, Eugene Levy, who also starred in the program together. The sitcom premiered in Canada in 2015 on CBC and in the United States the same year on Pop TV. However, it wasn't until its arrival on Netflix in 2017 that it became a hit with the American audience. Known for its laugh-out-loud comedy and quotable moments, Schitt's Creek featured a star-studded cast led by Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Johnny and Moira Rose. Dan Levy and Annie Murphy played their children, David and Alexis. Emily Hampshire played motel worker Stevie Budd, and Sarah Levy—daughter of Eugene Levy—played Twyla Sands. Eugene Levy, Annie Murphy, Dan Levy and Catherine O'Hara at the FYC Screening of Pop TV's "Schitt's Creek" at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California, on May 30, To Know Last week, singer Nicole Rayy took to TikTok to share a video of herself standing in front of the Hockley Motel. "So the rumors are true. I wanted to see for myself that it was back, and it's back! The sign is back," she told her 19,600 followers. "I don't know what they're gonna make. Maybe a reunion? Another season? A movie? Who's excited?!" At the time of publication, her video had racked up more than 1.6 million views, 67,500 likes and 1,500 comments. On Tuesday, @itsschittscreek, a Schitt's Creek fan account, posted Rayy's clip on Instagram, where it received an additional 1.6 million views, 53,600 likes and 1,000 comments. In 2021, the Hockley Motel—located in Mono, Ontario, outside of Toronto—was listed for sale at $1.6 million U.S. dollars, Deadline reported at the time. It is unclear whether someone purchased the property. While the signage could be a clue of a reboot or spinoff as social media users hope, it could also simply be a nod to the building's history. Dan Levy previously hinted that Schitt's Creek's story wasn't finished. During a 2020 interview with Oprah Daily, he said, "Sure!" when asked if he would consider a reboot. "I think in order to finish your story, you have to know where people are going next, so I do know where everyone is headed," he told the outlet. "There's a thousand different avenues. I just think it's about, is it the right time? Do we think we could give it justice? Do we think it would be the same quality of what the show was? And the answer is ... I don't know." In a 2023 interview about a possible revival, the Sex Education star echoed similar sentiments. "I love the fact that people want more," he told E! News at the Hollywood premiere of Good Grief. "But it has to beat what we've done, and that's a tough thing to do. So until the idea comes to me, who knows?" What People Are Saying Hopeful fans commented on the viral TikTok and Instagram posts to share their excitement about a possible return to the town of Schitt's Creek. After Schitt's Creek, Sarah Levy turns to selling haunted homes

Sarah Levy has been thinking about what the word "home" really means. For her character Susan Ireland on the spooky Canadian TV series SurrealEstate, a home is a house where someone's soul lives. Literally: Susan is a real estate agent who removes ghosts from haunted houses so that she can sell them. But for Levy, a home isn't about a specific location. She says home can be anywhere in the world, as long as she's with the people she loves. "It's just, it's where your family is," Levy tells Q guest host Talia Schlanger in an interview. "Wherever your family is, that's kind of where you can create what home is for you. And it turns out you don't need all your things." Sarah Levy has a close-knit, comedic family. Her dad is Eugene Levy, her brother is Dan Levy, and all three of them were on the Emmy Award-winning show Schitt's Creek. Nonetheless, she says the main origin of her sense of humour is her mother. "We learned a lot from my dad, but we learned way more from my mom," Levy says. "And I think that he would agree with that. Just in life even. "But her sense of comedy is so dry. And it rides a really wonderful line… we've learned how to just cut through the crap and get to the core of things."Although she enjoyed being on Schitt's Creek with her father and brother, Levy is happy to step into the spotlight on her own. She has a leading role as a telekinetic ghostbuster on SurrealEstate, which airs on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Syfy. WATCH | Preview of SurrealEstate's Season 3 premiere: "Our shooting schedule is so rigorous. The days are so long. And we move really fast, and we shoot a lot of pages," Levy explains. "It's incredibly challenging in the best way… it is so immense and it was a huge learning curve. But I had, and I still have the most fun doing it." Sarah Levy's schedule isn't just busy with work: she also gave birth to her son right before she started the second season of SurrealEstate. But Levy says she still feels at home, even while shooting on location. "My parents, being the most wonderful parents and grandparents in the universe, came with us to Newfoundland and essentially raised him for the time that I was working," Levy says. "My son is obsessed with both my parents... my dad is so good at the imagination aspect of things, like really gets down on his level. And it's such a joy to be able to watch both of them."
