Cha Eun Woo to enlist in South Korean military on July 28

Cha Eun Woo is set to begin his mandatory South Korean military service on July 28. Citing Eun Woo's agency Fantagio, Soompi reported Thursday that the South Korean actor and ASTRO member applied to join the Army Military Band and has received a final acceptance notice from the Military Manpower Administration. He will undergo basic military training before serving in the band According to his agency, there will be no separate events on the day of Eun Woo's enlistment, and the exact time and location will be kept private "to prevent safety accidents due to congestion." 'We ask for your unsparing support and warm encouragement for Cha Eun Woo as he diligently fulfills his military duty and returns in good health,' the statement read. Eun Woo is the second ASTRO member to enlist in the military following MJ who finished his service in 2023. The South Korean idol and actor was in the Philippines in March 2024 for his 'Just One 10 Minute Mystery Elevator' fan concert. Last February, he released his debut solo EP 'Entity." He also appeared in the music video of IU's latest comeback song 'A Beautiful Person.' —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Cha Eun Woo's New Interactive VR Concert Film Lets Fans Choose The Storyline

Have you wondered what it would be like to be in a fairytale with K-pop heartthrob Cha Eun Woo (차은우)? Well, here's your chance because the idol recently announced a virtual reality (VR) concert film that transports fans into the story! The 'Cha Eun Woo VR Concert: Memories' is an upcoming film hitting theatres in June. The concert is made in partnership with award-winning VR live event company AmazeVR Concerts. The movie offers fans an immersive, intimate experience with the star, thanks to VR technology. Adding to the excitement, fans will also get to choose the storyline for an interactive experience. Presented as a fantasy romance, the film stars Cha Eun Woo as the main character and the viewer as the protagonist. While the movie progresses, the audience can choose how the story unfolds. Based on their choices, the audience in the same theatre will watch different versions of Cha Eun Woo in various storylines. As the film is a concert film, the ASTRO (아스트로) member will also perform several songs. 'Cha Eun Woo VR Concert: Memories' will premiere in South Korea on 18th June (Wednesday), and tickets will go on sale on 30th May (Friday). The film will also be available in 21 cities worldwide, including Tokyo, Los Angeles, Singapore, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh. Unfortunately, the movie isn't available in Malaysia – at least not yet. On the official website, AmazeVR said the film will be released in more cities, so there's still hope for local AROHAs. VR concerts are still new in the industry, but there have been several instances, even in Malaysia. In 2023, the 'B*Verse – BTS, Singing The Stars' exhibition in Pavilion Bukit Jalil also featured a VR experience for fans. The experience was set in a room with VR headsets and a concert-like sound system. Guests put on their headsets, and as the video and audio played, they're 'transported' to the front row of a BTS performance. Let's hope that the 'Cha Eun Woo VR Concert: Memories' will make its way to Malaysia so that local fans can have an immersive experience with the star.
