Lawrence Lek Unpacks the Emotional Fallout of Tech-Powered Futures in 'NOX High-Rise'

Next month, theHammer Museumin Los Angeles will debutNOX High-Rise, an immersive installation by London-based artistLawrence Lek. Unfolding across multiple galleries, the exhibition fuses video, sound and sculptural elements to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in contemporary urban life, raising urgent questions about agency, empathy and the ethics of living alongside sentient technology. The installation revolves around NOX — short for 'Nonhuman Excellence' — a fictional clinical facility run by tech giant Farsight Corporation, that aid autonomous vehicles after they start exhibiting signs emotional instability. Mirroring the mental health troubles of humans, the cars undergo therapeutic treatment before returning to their jobs on the streets. This latest iteration ofNOX High-Risebuilds on the 2023 presentation ofNOXat LAS Art Foundation in Berlin, which introduced the first chapter of his Sinofuturist universe. Blending lush soundscapes and sci-fi mythos, Lek's imagined clinic serves as a metaphor navigating the moral complexities of artificial consciousness. Through a mix of game design, cinematic storytelling and speculative architecture, the artists constructs layered digital worlds that interrogate the politics of automation and the social futures we're hurtling toward. In addition toNOX High-Rise, on view from June 28 through November 16, Lek will also present films from 'Smart City,' the series that laid the conceptual groundwork forNOX, on June 29. REI National Awards For Excellence: Every finalist named

The best property professionals from across Australia and New Zealand will descend on Adelaide on Thursday when the industry's star performers are recognised at the Real Estate Institute of Australia's annual National Awards for Excellence. The event, to be held at Adelaide Oval, will see the best of the best crowned from 117 finalists across 23 categories, recognising Australia's top-performing salespeople, property managers, residential and commercial agencies, and operational support workers, to name but a few. REIA president Leanne Pilkington said the calibre of finalists at this year's competition was strong. 'I was one of the judges in some of the categories and it was a really strong field, because they are the best of the best from around the country so it will be very exciting to see who the winners will be on the night,' she said. 'I think the field of finalists gets stronger each year and I think that's a reflection of competition in the industry and the best have to keep getting better every year, and it's really exciting to see. How Timothée Chalamet & Kylie Jenner Celebrated Red Carpet Debut

Originally appeared on E! Online Keep up with Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's milestone date night. The couple who made their red carpet debut at the 70th David di Donatello Awards in Rome, May 7, kept their evening in the Italian city going with a celebratory dinner after the event. During their outing, Kylie, 27, and Timothée, 29, were hand-in-hand as they exited Zuma Restaurant in Rome. Kylie, who traded in her form-fitting dress for a black T-shirt and pants, held onto the A Complete Unknown actor's hand as they left the establishment, where they were joined by his father Marc Chalamet. Prior to their dinner date, the pair—who have been dating since 2023—made their red carpet debut at the ceremony, where Timothée was honored with an award for Cinematic Excellence. The Kylie Cosmetics founder and the Dune star weren't shy about showing PDA during the event, as they posed with their arms around each other while photographers snapped their pictures. In another sweet moment, the duo also held hands as they made their way inside of the event. More from E! While Kylie—who attended the event just two days after her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala—didn't make her date night Instagram official, she did give her followers a peek from the evening on the town, which came a week after the couple packed on the PDA during a courtside date night in Los Angeles. In the photo on her Instagram Story, Kylie—who shares Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, with ex Travis Scott—cheekily pointed out the blemish on her face writing, 'that I have a new pimple friend that wanted to hang tonight.' What's more, Kylie reminded her followers why she is the queen of glam, noting, she 'did my own makeup tonight.' Kylie's decision not to put her man on main is no surprise as she has been open about maintaining a sense of privacy when it comes to their relationship. 'Privacy is so important to me in life,' she told British Vogue in August. 'It feels so good.' Keep reading to look back at Kylie and Timothée's romance...
