Rob Gronkowski nails his colors to the mast as he makes FOX NFL position clear

Rob Gronkowski has shut down any speculation about him returning to the NFL in a coaching role, stating that his stint on FOX NFL Sunday is "just the right amount" of football. The former New England Patriots sensation spoke about his post-retirement plans as the NFL Draft continues. The four-time Super Bowl champion, known for his record-setting tenure alongside Tom Brady with both the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has traded in playing for punditry in recent years. These days, Gronk can be spotted sharing insights with the likes of Terry Bradshaw , Michael Strahan, and sometimes Brady himself on FOX NFL Sunday . Despite this, fans have been curious whether he's feeling the pull to return to the sideline. As the announcement broke earlier this year that former Patriots teammate Mike Vrabel was taking over as New England's head coach, and Brady securing minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, discussions around Gronk's potential NFL return began. Gronk is a regular on FOX (Image:) However, he's made it crystal clear that his current gig at FOX suits him just fine, and he hasn't been bitten by the coaching bug. Speaking to TMZ, the 35-year-old said: "Hey, you just hit it right on the nose. My life is just way too good right now, I'm just not made for that coaching life. I've seen what they go through. "It's one of the most stressful jobs I would say, you know, in America, it really is. I'm not down to coach 12 hours a day you know. "I love the game of football but you know, you got to pick and choose what's right with the game of football for you. And what I did with the game of football, where I'm at now, as well as doing the FOX commentary on Sundays, I think I'm involved in football just the right amount. Rob Gronkowski is an NFL legend in his own right (Image:) "But coaching just, I wouldn't say is really for me in the NFL or college world." Gronk did admit that he could see himself coaching for a high school team someday, especially once kids are in the picture - but football doesn't need to be the sport. He added: "I can see myself one day like - I see my brothers coaching their kids...I can see myself coaching like one day when I have kids in my life, like coaching their teams, their football. "Even high school, I would be down for high school as well but I'm down to, not just football, just coaching them in any sport."

Steelers legend, 'FOX NFL Sunday' co-host Terry Bradshaw helps with jammed airplane door

Terry Bradshaw was part of a unique flight experience last week. On a flight going from Dallas-Fort Worth to Pittsburgh — where Bradshaw helped the Pittsburgh Steelers win four of their six Super Bowls — the door to open the plane was stuck and couldn't be opened at Pittsburgh International Airport. Fortunately for everybody on the plane, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and cohost of "FOX NFL Sunday" was able to help get the door open after roughly a half-hour, according to CBS Pittsburgh. "The pilot announced, and you could kind of hear he was chuckling as he said it, but he said, 'Thanks to the strength of one of our passengers, we were finally able to get the door open' and so I think we all knew he was alluding to Mr. Bradshaw," Selah Gamble, a passenger on the flight, told CBS Pittsburgh. Bradshaw was flying to Pittsburgh for a roast of former teammate Mel Blount, who was also part of four Steelers' Super Bowl teams. All that said, Bradshaw downplayed his role in helping open the door, posting to Instagram, "Just to set the record straight … I did nothing to open the door on the plane! The maintenance crew had it open in 15 min." Bradshaw, who spent his entire 14-year NFL career in Pittsburgh (1970-83), is second in Steelers history with both 27,989 passing yards and 212 passing touchdowns. Of course, the 1978 NFL MVP, two-time Super Bowl MVP and three-time Pro Bowler went on to be a staple of FOX Sports' Sunday NFL coverage, having been on the set of "FOX NFL Sunday" since the first show in 1994. As for the show's future, former head coach and two-time Super Bowl champion Jimmy Johnson announced his retirement from broadcasting after the 2024 season. Johnson was on the set from 1994-95 and 2002-24. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? On 'Terry Bradshaw Day' in New Orleans, FOX Sports analyst recalls his roots

NEW ORLEANS — Terry Bradshaw, standing on Tulane's campus not far from where he won his first Super Bowl at old Tulane Stadium 50 years ago, looked out into a sea of students and smiled. "This is the only way I could get on this campus is someone had to give me an award," said the "FOX NFL Sunday" co-host and analyst. "Because my GPA isn't quite what it should be." Wednesday was officially declared "Terry Bradshaw Day" by the city of New Orleans, honoring a Louisiana native with a long history with the Super Bowl. He won four titles in a span of six years in the 1970s as the Steelers' quarterback, and on Sunday he will be on his eighth Super Bowl broadcast with FOX Sports. [Prep for the epic Eagles-Chiefs matchup on FOX Sports' Super Bowl LIX hub ] "I do love this state so much," Bradshaw told the fans, some of whom were wearing Steelers jerseys and waving "Terrible Towels" aloft. "I always felt like you should be proud of where you're from, and I certainly am." Bradshaw went to college at Louisiana Tech, and the stadium where he won his first championship is long gone, razed 45 years ago after the Superdome became the home of the Saints, and what soon will be eight Super Bowls there. Tulane's president, Michael A. Fitts, said that while Bradshaw didn't attend Tulane, his success exemplifies the spirit of the university. "One of Tulane's core values is inspiring excellence," Fitts said, presenting Bradshaw with a silver Green Wave football helmet. "And Terry Bradshaw embodies this value. His career is a perfect example of what can be achieved when talent is paired with passion, dedication and hard work. ... It literally is hard to imagine Sunday NFL games without his insight and his big personality." Bradshaw's FOX colleague, Curt Menefee, introduced him, noting that Bradshaw was FOX Sports' first hire when the network started broadcasting NFL games in 1994, a run that continues leading up the Chiefs and Eagles on Sunday night. "On behalf of FOX Sports, this is a very special day for all of us," Menefee said. "This is 'Terry Bradshaw Day,' and he is one of a kind. ... He has been the heart and soul of FOX Sports for 31 years. He is the DNA of FOX Sports. ... He doesn't get on TV and pretend he's someone else. He's genuine, and that's what connects with the public." Bradshaw remembered that when he first got into NFL broadcasting, his salary was about a third of what he made at the end of his playing career. But 50 years after his first Super Bowl, he's excited to be back in New Orleans for his next broadcast on Sunday night. "I hope it's not my last," said Bradshaw, noting that FOX will broadcast its next Super Bowl in four years, Super Bowl 63 in February 2029. "You don't get honors at 76. Who am I kidding? For Tulane and the city of New Orleans to do this, I don't take this lightly. This really touches me, and the fact that I don't feel like I deserve this, it's a little humbling, for sure." Steelers select Terry Bradshaw with No. 1 pick: Looking back 55 years later

Exactly 55 years ago today, the Pittsburgh Steelers used the first overall pick in the 1970 NFL Draft to select future Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw. Let's take a look back to January 27, 1970: Bradshaw, a Shreveport, Louisiana native, was a standout during his collegiate years at Louisiana Tech. In his senior season, he led his team to an 8-2 record and racked up 2,314 yards — good for third in the NCAA. Heading into the draft, Bradshaw was considered the consensus No. 1 pick, and with the win of a coin toss between the Steelers and the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh took Bradshaw off the board. Now a FOX Sports analyst and co-host of FOX NFL Sunday, Bradshaw spent his entire playing career with the Steelers, winning NFL MVP in 1978, as well as two Super Bowl MVPs. Bradshaw finished his 14-season career completing 2,025 of 3,901 passes for 27,989 yards and 212 touchdowns. He also rushed 444 times for 2,257 yards and 32 touchdowns.
