Thames Valley Police officer jailed after admitting corruption
A former police officer has been jailed after he had sex with a 17-year-old girl who was the alleged victim of a Jonathan Fallon, of Thames Valley Police, pleaded guilty to police corruption at Luton Crown Court on 5 February 2025. He was dismissed from the force in March for breaching standards of police Monday, the 22-year-old from Rushden, Northamptonshire, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and given a restraining Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Ben Snuggs, said: "Former PC Jonathan Fallon betrayed the trust a victim of crime put in him, and abused his position of authority." Fallon had been working as a police officer for two years at the time of the incident and had been based at Milton to his misconduct report, he met the 17-year-old girl in July 2023 while investigating reports she had received inappropriate messages from an older man at a school where she did volunteer and Fallon exchanged phone numbers and social media details, and in October the two began messaging each other on afterwards, Fallon paid for a hotel in Nottingham where the two had next day, he told her they had to stop seeing each other and keep their relationship a secret to protect his teenager then withdrew her initial case as she did not feel it appropriate the investigating officer had committed the same behaviour, the misconduct report was arrested on 23 February 2024 and was charged on 28 October Snuggs said Fallon's actions "fell far below the high standards we expect, undermined public confidence and let down his colleagues"."I am very clear that there is no place in the force for officers who behave like this," he added."His name has also been placed on the barred list, which means he will never be able to work in policing again." July 24 (UPI) -- Swedish rock band Ghost appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to play their song "Lachryma," from their recently-released album, Skeletá. The band, dressed in their iconic skeleton-inspired masks and costumes, joined Fallon on Wednesday night's episode. Ghost recently released their album Skeletá, which they announced on Instagram with a "message from the clergy." "We wish to inform you that the message is spreading. The faithful are multiplying. Skeletá, the album, is here," the post said.

Times are hard in the world of late-night TV, as evidenced by the shocking July 17 announcement that CBS's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will end its 10-year run in May. Declining profits and viewership, combined with rising costs (and often frequent jabs at a sensitive president), have made the late-night talk show host one of the country's more precarious jobs. Yet each week, Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart and others hit the stage to comment on world events, speak to star guests, and make America laugh. Here's who's still kicking it, late-night style. 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' The Show: "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" is filmed before a live audience in New York City's historic Ed Sullivan Theater, airing on CBS four nights a week. Celtic's '12th Lisbon Lion' John Fallon dies aged 84
Fallon was the only Celtic substitute when Jock Stein's side beat Inter Milan 2-1 in the Portuguese capital to win the European Cup in 1967. The Cambuslang-born goalkeeper joined Celtic in 1958 and made almost 200 appearances over a 14-year period. He played in the team that kick-started Celtic's trophy success under Stein with victory over Dunfermline in the 1965 Scottish Cup final and went on to collect 14 winners' medals in total before leaving for Motherwell. He also had a brief spell with Morton before retiring. A statement from the Scottish champions read: 'His love for Celtic, however, was a constant throughout the years, and he followed the club at home and away for the rest of life. 'His passing comes as a great sadness to us all, and the thoughts and prayers of everyone connected with Celtic Football Club are with his family and friends at this sad time.' Fallon was reunited with his European Cup winners' medal in 2019, having lost it in the wake of the final. The memento was donated to Celtic, who returned it to its rightful owner. Speaking at the time, Fallon told the Celtic website: 'We were wading through scores of fans to get off the park and into the dressing room. It's such a great memory. 'We'll never forget it, and it's something everyone should be proud of. For the Celtic supporters, we gave them something to look at that nobody else could.' Fallon attended the funeral of fellow Lisbon Lion John Clark last month.
