BisB Honors Local Journalists on Bahraini Press Day for Dedication and Professionalism
TDT | Manama In celebration of Bahraini Press Day, which falls on May 7 each year, Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of Islamic digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently organized a special event to honor a select group of local journalists. The event took place at the Wyndham Grand Manama Hotel. This celebration was organized by the bank to recognize the efforts of local journalists and their valuable contributions in reporting news, covering events, and raising community awareness on economic, banking, and social issues. As part of the event, BisB honored Mr. P. Unnikrishnan, Managing Director of The Daily Tribune, for the continued support and cooperation extended by the publication. Additionally, a Letter of Appreciation was awarded to Mr. Abhitabh Kumar, Head of Sales and Business Division at The Daily Tribune, in recognition of his collaborative efforts and professional excellence. The event was attended by Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, along with several bank employees, as well as editors-in-chief of local newspapers, journalists, photographers, and administrative staff working in the press. BisB to launch ‘Visa+' International Money Transfer Service
Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of innovative Islamic financial solutions for simplifying money matters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced another new innovative solution with the launch of Visa+ service, a new international remittance service developed in partnership with the BENEFIT Company and Visa, a world leader in digital payments. Through this service, BisB customers can now send money instantly to selected regional banks in the GCC using the BenefitPay app, simply by entering the recipient's mobile number linked to their Visa Debit card. In addition, customers can also receive funds instantly from regional partner banks, allowing for seamless two-way transfers. This facility is currently available in selected regional banks in Qatar, and United Arab Emirates, and more countries will be added in due course. BisB launches Master's Scholarship for Bahraini Youth as part of ‘From Aspiration to Leadership' Initiative
In conjunction with Bahraini Youth Day, which falls on March 25, Bahrain Islamic Bankannounced the launch of the 'From Aspiration to Leadership' initiative. As part of this initiative, the Bank will offer a scholarship for a master's degree in leadership and Innovation. A qualified young Bahraini professional will have the opportunity to pursue their postgraduate studies in a prestigious, internationally accredited academic program offered by a leading university in the United Kingdom, specifically designed to prepare the Kingdom's future leaders. This initiative underscores BisB's commitment to empowering young national talents through access to high-level education and development opportunities. The scholarship aims to develop skills in leadership, innovation, and strategic governance – qualities critical to Bahrain's economic and financial future. It also encourages young Bahraini talents across the Kingdom to apply and showcase their capabilities. Additionally, it enhances the bank's position as a key player in national talent development and a pioneer in promoting digital innovation while adhering to Sharia principles and sustainability. Eligible applicants must be young Bahraini nationals, hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution and have a minimum of three years of work experience. They must demonstrate English language proficiency, with a minimum IELTS overall score of 7.0 with at least 6.5 in each skill, or a TOEFL score of 100 with minimum scores of 25 in writing, 23 in reading, and 20 in other skills. Applications open on March 25th, 2025, and close on 25th April 2025. The top ten candidates will be shortlisted in May 2025and invited to present their ideas to a panel of BisB executives. During the presentations, candidates will have the opportunity to pitch their proposed solutions, demonstrate their leadership potential, and show the strategic value of their ideas across either digital innovation, Sharia compliance, or sustainability. Based on these final presentations, the scholarship recipient will be selected and announced in June 2025.

BisB & Smile Initiative Partner for Children's Cancer Support
