Rockford IceHogs rally to claim game one over the Milwaukee Admirals in overtime
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Rockford IceHogs were working some more playoff magic Thursday night in Milwaukee. They rallied to defeat the AHL Central Division Champion Admirals 3-2 in was a physical game throughout featuring several skirmishes. The first period was scoreless. The Admirals scored a pair of goals in the second from veteran Cal O'Reilly and Fedor Hogs didn't let that phase them. They kept battling and it paid off in the third period. Paul Ludwinski scored a goal at the 11:48 mark, and then Gerry Mayhew scored at the 16:33 mark to even up the game a two leading to extra session didn't last long. IceHogs forward Colton Dach, just back from a shoulder injury that sideline him nearly two months, scored while rushing up the left side beating Admirals All-Star goaltender Matthew Murray putting this game to bed. IceHogs goaltender Drew Commesso earned the win with 28 IceHogs hold the upper hand in this best-of-five series. Game two will be played Saturday night in highlights, watch the media player above.
