Because we got focus groups when (The Drew Barrymore Show) launched and it was not good. It was awful." For Gillan Anderson, intimate scenes are never a joy
Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson has shared that intimate scenes are a tricky territory to walk through during the process of acting. For her, such scenes are "never a joy". The 56-year-old actress shares an intimate scene in a tent with co-star Jason Isaacs in her new movie 'The Salt Path', reports 'Female First UK'. The film is based on the true story of couple Raynor and Moth Winn who embark on an epic walk in the UK after a bad health diagnosis and homelessness. As per 'Female First UK', the actress said that such things are part and parcel of acting. As she said, "That is something you just expect as an actor'. The actress told 'The Sun', "That's part of what one does. I had an experience for many, many years working with the same actor every day. I've also done sex scenes on the very first day of working, which is never a joy at any time during filming. "So you're thrown stuff all the time and just show whatever you're given'. 'The X-Files' star added that it was straightforward to film the raunchy scenes with her "amenable" co-star Isaacs. She said, "Jason makes it very easy. He's very amenable, he's very likeable. And certainly physically, we feel like we're the same language, certainly by the end. We feel like our journey is baked into us, and we feel like we're part of the same conversation'. Gillian explained that she became desperate to play Raynor after reading her book of the same name and being "profoundly affected" by the story. "I read the book and I couldn't speak for days. I was really profoundly affected by it. I think I might have threatened them with an inch of their lives to hire me', she added. Indo-Asian News Service

Jennifer Lopez is proud the way her career has shaped up
Los Angeles: Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez is looking back at her illustrious career, and feels extremely "proud" of the same. The 55-year-old star, who has enjoyed huge success in the music and film industries, has been reflecting on her career arc ahead of hosting the American Music Awards, reports 'Female First UK'. Jennifer told 'People' magazine, "Everything feels like I just did it. I remember the moments. I remember getting dressed for them. I remember things people said when we were walking to the stage afterwards'. "So it's all these amazing core memories of my life that when you look back on them, I don't know that I get emotional, but I definitely get like, 'Wow'. Happy. I've been doing this and I'm proud of that'. As per 'Female First UK', Jennifer recently sat down to watch some of her old performances, and the chart-topping star was struck by how much she's developed as an artist. The 'Jenny from the Block' hitmaker is also relishing the challenge of hosting the American Music Awards. She said, "We were just looking at it to see the progression of the stuff that we've done. I don't know, it's just a very important part of my musical career and life. It was created as an answer kind of to the Grammys, which was voted by an academy, and this was really about the fans. And I think that's what makes it really special, is that the fans vote for these awards and tell you, 'This is music we love from the year''. Jennifer previously insisted that she doesn't judge herself by commercial success. The singer explained that she isn't worried at all by her critics. Speaking to IndieWire, Jennifer explained, "There's going to be things that are huge commercial successes, and there's going to be things that are super critically acclaimed, and then there's going to be things that are mixed, and then there are going to be things that people don't like. But at the end of the day, none of that really matters as an artist'. 'What matters is that you put out something truthful into the world that you felt compelled to do, and it has that intention behind it. And for that, to me, it's already a success. And it's only reinforced when people come up to you and tell you that it's changed their life in some way or it affected their life in some way', she added.

Miley Cyrus shares insights into her sobriety journey
Picture Credit: X Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has shared what went behind her sobriety journey. The 32-year-old singer has opened up on her struggles with addiction. She also shared how her addiction influenced her hit song 'Flowers', while she acknowledged she isn't "proud" of her actions during that period around 2020's 'Plastic Hearts' album, reports 'Female First UK'. She told Apple Music 1's 'The Zane Lowe Show', "I know I needed to fall one more time. I just, I had to. It just never would have happened this way. I just never would have been sitting here. There were times in that section. I'm not proud of them. Definitely not my best moments, not some of my best work, any of that. But it all led me to writing 'Flowers,' which then was some sort of key right into the lock of all healing". As per 'Female First UK', Miley reflected on how her record 'Endless Summer Vacation' was a game changer for her, and it all came down to her getting clean. She added, "I've learned this about myself over the years. The sobriety is like, that's like my God. "I need it, I live for it. I mean that it's changed my entire life". 'Flowers', which dropped in 2023 as the lead single for 'Endless Summer Vacation', was a huge success, and landed Miley her first ever Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year in 2024. She explained, "I think somewhere inside of me, I needed maybe to hold a trophy and just feel for a moment that I have something that I can hold in my hands that feels like a true achievement. And so at the Grammys, that's why I went, it was actually for healing". Due to her performance anxiety and not allowing herself to accept how much she wanted to win a Grammy, she almost didn't turn up to the ceremony but she's glad she did.
